Maharashtra: Opposition slams absence of national emblem on entry passes to legislative building
The Opposition slammed the absence of the national emblem on entry passes to the legislative building on Monday, the first day of the monsoon session of the Maharashtra Assembly.
Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MLA Jitendra Awhad tried to raise the issue in the House before the Speaker presented a condolence motion but was asked to raise it later.
'I wanted to raise it today itself. However, today's business was limited to passing condolence motion. I wanted to highlight how the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government is undermining the Constitution and national emblem. How can they remove the emblem from the entry pass?' asked Awhad.
The opposition said that it will raise the issue aggressively on Tuesday.
However, according to sources within the state legislative building, it was an attempt to 'safeguard' the national emblem.
'The entry pass, after its use, either gets thrown into the garbage or torn into pieces. It leads to the insult of the national emblem. Therefore, it was not printed on the entry pass,' said the official.
In a similar incident, during the two-day National Conference of Chairpersons of Estimates Committees of Parliament and State / UT Legislatures held in Mumbai. the national emblem was missing, and the Sengol was used instead.

Jaunpur: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Monday said that Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav is desperate to return to power, but he and other regional parties have already put up a 'No Entry' board for him. 'Akhilesh is eager to come to power, but I, Sanjay Nishad (of Nishad Party), Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal-S), and Jayant Chaudhary (Rashtria Lok Dal) have hung a 'No Entry' sign for him,' Rajbhar said while addressing SBSP workers at three different meetings in Jaunpur district. Criticising the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) government, Rajbhar said, 'There were 800 riots across Uttar Pradesh during the SP regime, while under the BJP rule in the last eight years, not a single riot has taken place. People need to understand this difference.' He also expressed concern over recent incidents in Etawah and Prayagraj, saying no one has the right to take the law into their own hands and strict action should be taken against the guilty. 'All is well in BJP,' he quipped when asked by reporters about Union Home Minister Amit Shah referring to Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya as a 'friend'. Rajbhar's comments come at a time when Uttar Pradesh's political landscape is a buzz about new alliances and shifting equations. His 'No Entry' remark is seen as a pointed message to the SP, which has made PDA (picchda, dalit alpsankhyak) its main plank, suggesting that OBC-centric regional parties are now aiming for a more decisive and independent role in state politics.

Akhilesh attends blood donation camp on b'day-eve
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday visited the King George's Medical University (KGMU) here on the eve of his birthday and attended a blood donation camp organised by party workers belonging to the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) members. Yadav was born on July 1, 1973 in Saifai, Etawah and is presently an SP MP from Kannauj. Extending his gratitude to the PDA workers, Yadav said, 'I thank and express my appreciation to all our dedicated PDA family workers participating in today's blood donation camp.' Highlighting the aim of the PDA initiative, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said it is a movement to unite all sections of society that are 'suffering, oppressed, troubled and insulted'. In a scathing attack on the BJP-led government on the economy front, Yadav alleged that there is an 'undeclared emergency' in trade and industry. 'They (BJP) are selling things (institutions and establishments) at throwaway rates to their men. According to news reports, a major institution is also on the verge of being sold. If trade and industry grow, the lives of common people will change and employment will rise,' he said. Referring to KGMU, he said it is not only a premier institute of the country but also one of global repute. 'When the Samajwadi government comes to power, we will provide every necessary resource to make it the world's best institution and will ensure the poor get proper medical facilities,' he said. On river pollution, Yadav said, 'Rivers are not cleaned but they are siphoning off the budget. That's why the Gomti is dirty today. It was becoming beautiful in the SP regime but they have ruined it.' He also announced plans to instal a statue of Veerangana Uda Devi at the Gomti riverfront in Lucknow as amark of respect to the freedom fighter.

Rajasthan govt to look into demands of Gurjars
Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has formed a three-member cabinet committee to look into the demands of the Most Backward Classes (MBC), including the gurjar community, and suggest solutions. State Law Minister Jogaram Patel, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham are the members of the committee. Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham belongs to the gurjar community and was previously active in the gurjar movements led by Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla. 'Thanks to Honorable Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma ji for forming a cabinet committee of three ministers under the agreement reached between Gurjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti and Rajasthan Government on June 8, 2025, in Pilupura,' gurjar leader Vijay Bainsla said on X. Sharing a copy of the order, Bainsla said, 'We have full faith and hope that the state government under the leadership of the honourable chief minister will call a cabinet meeting as soon as possible and send a recommendation to the central government to include MBC reservation in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution and will also work to get all the other demands under the agreement fulfilled positively within the stipulated time.' The Ninth Schedule contains a list of laws that are shielded from judicial review. A gurjar 'mahapanchayat' was held at Karwari Shaheed Memorial (Pilupura) in Bharatpur on June 8 to press various demands of the community including the inclusion of MBC reservation in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution. Vijay Bainsla, President of the Gurjar Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti, read out the government's assurance during the meeting, after which the mahapanchayat concluded with the community's consent. Kirori Singh Bainsla, Vijay Bainsla's late father, had led several Gurjar agitations since 2006, including rail blockades on key routes.
