Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 Finale Ends With a Jaw-Dropping Arrival — Who Is Liam?

Sullivan's Crossing Season 3 Finale Ends With a Jaw-Dropping Arrival — Who Is Liam?

Yahooa day ago
It's a good thing Sullivan's Crossing has been renewed for Season 4, because our girl Maggie has some serious explaining to do.
The show's third season finale, which aired Wednesday on The CW, ends with another attractive stranger coming to town. What's out of the ordinary about that, you ask? Nothing, except that this particular attractive stranger (played by Marcus Rosner) introduces himself as Liam — Maggie's husband. She had previously referred to Liam as merely a 'summer fling,' which clearly downplayed the depth of their legal, wedded relationship.

There would never be a 'good' time for Maggie's estranged husband to show up, but his arrival at this juncture in her life feels particularly ill-timed. Not only is she finally thriving in her career again, having just performed a successful surgery on Edna's brain tumor, but even her relationship with Cal is back on track. Sadly, life has decided to throw yet another wrench into their happy ending — this time by the name of Liam.
So, what's the deal with this guy? Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until Season 4 to get any concrete answers. Is it 2026 yet?
Other finale developments worth discussing…
* Sully decides to throw caution to the wind — not to mention finally release some of the ghosts of his past — and visit Ireland with Helen. It's an 'extended' trip, but we're fairly confident that a time jump will bring him back to town sooner than later. After all, there's no Sullivan's Crossing without Sully, right? … Right?
* Maggie and Cal aren't the only couple at a crossroads. Marriage has been a hot-button issue for Rafe and Sydney (he wants it, she doesn't), and it looks like it could finally lead to a breakup. He doesn't explicitly end things in the finale, but you can tell that he isn't hopeful about the future of their relationship.
As we begin the long wait for Season 4, let's talk about what happens next: Why do you think Maggie married Liam, and what could this mean for her future with Cal? Exactly how long will Sully be away? And if this is the end of Sydney and Rafe, will you be disappointed? Grade the finale and season below, then drop a comment with your thoughts.

'Untamed': Eric Bana needed the confidence to be 'quite rude' in Netflix thriller

In another show that showcases British Columbia's breathtaking landscape, Eric Bana stars in the new Netflix series Untamed, a dark thriller centred around a murder investigation in the wilderness of Yosemite National Park. Also starring Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily Santiago and Sam Neill, Bana plays an Investigative Services Branch agent of the National Parks Service, Kyle Turner, who's trying to catch a murderer. But for Kyle, his past ends up playing a bigger role in his investigation than he anticipated. As each of the six episodes unfold, more secrets around Kyle's life, and the murder case, are revealed. For Bana, a core element of playing Kyle was allowing himself to be "quite rude" as the character. "Early on, especially in the first episode or two episodes, it's just having the confidence to actually be quite rude," Bana told Yahoo Canada. "He's going to be quite bristly and quite a grisly character until we really get to know him more." "So I really just immersed myself into the writing and just kind of committed to the gruffness that he has, especially initially with Lily [Santiago's] character, and knowing that eventually there's a softness there that will play out." 'Beautifully written' relationships While there are a lot of twists and turns in Untamed, a highlight is absolutely the relationship Kyle has with his ex-wife Jill Bodwin, played by Rosemarie DeWitt. This isn't your typical tension where one ex-partner moves on and gets remarried, Jill and Kyle suffered an incredibly traumatic experience together before their divorce, which has created this lasting link between them. "I was thrilled when Rosemarie agreed to play Jill. I thought those scenes were really beautifully written," Bana said "Obviously, they're sharing something, which gets revealed to the audience at some stages, which really affects their dynamic, but ... I hadn't really seen that kind of relationship before on screen. And so it was a real thrill to read that and to think that there was something different in the way that you'd be able to play an ex-husband and an ex-wife." Kyle isn't investigating this murder alone, he's joined by Naya Vasquez, played by Lily Santiago, a cop who just moved from Los Angeles with her four-year-old son. Bana stressed that establishing the nuances in Kyle and Naya's relationship was critical for the show. "We were really careful with the casting of that, we wanted that to be, not equals, because he's so much more senior to her, but that they would become equals in terms of the way that they try and go about solving this crime," Bana said. "But there had to be this kind of paternal quality, in both directions." "I feel like in some ways, she's almost kind of mothering him. ... So the casting of that was really important and Lily's ability to come in and just kind of go toe-to-toe with with Kyle was really wonderful." B.C. landscape was 'hugely important' Bana, who's also an executive producer on the show, stressed that filming in B.C. was a crucial component of making this show right. "I'd spent time in your beautiful part of the world in winters, but not in summer," Bana said. "So to get a chance to set the show there cinematically, and to get the scope and everything, was just incredible." "It was a hugely important element in the show. We felt like the character of Yosemite National Park, and the role that nature plays, is one of the characters in the show. So we were thrilled to film there."

Days of Our Lives' Susan Seaforth Hayes Addresses Daytime Emmys Snub: ‘Perhaps the Judges Thought I Wasn't Acting?'

'I'm surprised Susan Hayes is not nominated. Shame on the Academy.' 'No Susan Seaforth Hayes is a crime and makes the Emmys meaningless.' More from TVLine Dear Emmys: Stop Letting a Handful of Shows Dominate the Acting Categories Is Pitt Absence Easy to Explain? Does Scrubs Revival Setting Surprise? Yet 'She absolutely should have been nominated for her heartbreaking work with Doug's passing at the end of 2024.' If there was one recurring sentiment from TVLine readers in the wake of this year's Daytime Emmy nominations being revealed, it was Days of Our Lives fans decrying the lack of a nod for Susan Seaforth Hayes, who plays Julie Williams. Hayes is a six-time Daytime Emmy nominee, most recently in 2020, and she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Hayes addressed her arguably conspicuous omission from the Academy's short list in a Thursday Instagram post. 'For everyone who was upset by the Emmy nominations, I am amazed and moved that so many cared that deeply,' the actress wrote, before offering some perspective. 'Between my nominations' over the years, 'I have had the honor of co-hosting the show once with Beverlee McKinsey (ex-Iris, Another World; ex-Alexandra, Guiding Light) and in 2018 receiving a Lifetime Achievement Emmy that sits on our piano next to [husband] Billy's.' (On Days, Bill Hayes played Doug Williams to his real-life wife's Julie, prior to his passing in January 2024.) 'I have not been snubbed by all the judges of NATAS over time,' she noted. Hayes went on to speculate that — because her big storyline in 2024 involved Julie mourning the death of husband Doug — she was seen as simply reenacting her real-life loss. 'In that story of loss I was more than an actress, I was a wife,' she says. 'My husband deserved all I could give to show the reality of grief and loss. Perhaps the judges felt I wasn't acting when for the camera, I got the news [of Doug's passing], kissed the body goodbye, and gave the eulogy. No matter, my truth was based on a love that was real for an audience that loved him, too. 'My reward in 2024 was that I honored Doug and Julie, members of a family millions have opened their hearts to,' she said in closing. 'I am hugely blessed and promise you all I will keep on keeping on.' Daytime Emmys 2025: Y&R Leads Soap Opera Nominees View List Best of TVLine 'Missing' Shows, Found!
