KUCHING (July 15): Swiftlet farmers seeking practical solutions to improve farm performance and address declining yields will have the opportunity to attend a hands-on seminar this July 26.
Hosted by the Sarawak Bird's Nest Merchants Association, the seminar titled 'Swiftlet Mastery 2.0 – Kuching Edition' will be held at Li Garden Restaurant, CityONE Megamall from 9.30am till noon.
The seminar will feature two leading experts in swiftlet farming systems, namely Kiew Meng Kui, a coach known for his practical approach to swiftlet attraction; and Koay Miao Duo (MD Koay) who is a specialist in system-based farming methods.
'The seminar aims to shift farmers away from a 'trial and error' approach by providing logical frameworks and real-life case studies. Recovery tactics for idle farms will also be shared,' said the organiser in a statement yesterday.
It added that participants will gain insights into a proven and replicable seven-step system designed to tackle common challenges such as stagnant growth and low swiftlet occupancy.
Key topics will include flight path design, speaker setup, audio tuning, and strategies for ventilation, lighting control, and environmental management.
Beyond technical learning, the seminar also serves as a platform for networking and experience-sharing among swiftlet farmers.
'Through such events, we aim to bring real-world experience to the industry, helping farmers avoid common pitfalls and reignite their passion for swiftlet farming,' the statement read.
Fees are set at RM80 for association members and RM120 for non-members, inclusive of refreshments and on-site guidance. Seats are limited and early registration is encouraged.
