Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans splits from fiancée weeks after proposing

The opera singer hinted that his relationship with business owner Liz Brookes was "not healthy"
Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans has revealed he's parted ways with his fiancée Liz Brookes, just weeks after popping the question during a romantic Moroccan getaway.

The Welsh opera singer hinted at an "unhealthy" relationship in a Facebook Live broadcast on Saturday, August 2, and confessed he's already dipping his toes back into the dating pool.

Rumours of the couple's split started circulating last month when eagle-eyed fans spotted that Wynne had removed his engagement announcement from Instagram and stopped following Liz on social media.

It now seems their romance has come to a definitive end. Insiders confided to the Daily Mail that the split was triggered by Wynne's hectic schedule since he decided to launch his own restaurant in his hometown of Carmarthen, whilst also kicking off his own radio show, set to be based in the eatery, reports the Mirror.
The source disclosed: "Wynne and Liz called off their engagement a few weeks ago. The strain of his new business ventures led to a major disagreement.

"Initially, there was hope they would reconcile once the bad feelings subsided, as they had broken up before and managed to mend things.
"But with Wynne actively seeking new dates and publicly labelling the relationship as 'not healthy', it's safe to say they've permanently split this time."
The Mirror has reached out to Wynne Evans' representatives for a statement.

Liz, who operates a thriving events business in Wales, initially encountered Wynne in 2024 when he entertained guests at one of her company's corporate gatherings.
She became a familiar face in the audience throughout his Strictly journey, frequently supporting him from the sidelines and posting encouraging messages across social media platforms.

Wynne had previously credited Liz with motivating his fitness regime ahead of his BBC appearance, telling a podcast presenter: "I go out running with my girlfriend and stuff and I feel much better for it".
Wynne popped the question to Liz in June, documenting the special moment on Instagram with a collection of photographs, including a detailed shot of her engagement ring.
He wrote alongside the post: "Big news... I got engaged! This weekend in Morocco, somewhere between the couscous, the camels, and me limping around the souks like a man with no spatial awareness, I proposed to Liz - and she said yes! (No take-backs, I've checked.)".

"She's clever, she's kind, she's got excellent taste in men. Absolutely no idea how I pulled that off, but here we are! Feeling very lucky, very happy, and just a tiny bit smug."
The pair's split arrives during a challenging year for the Go Compare star, who was axed by the BBC earlier this year following a contentious "spit roast" remark during the Strictly live tour.

While Wynne subsequently clarified the phrase related to fellow contestant Jamie Borthwick rather than presenter Janette Manrara as initially reported, he maintained he was compelled to issue an apology and has since severed ties with BBC Radio Wales.
He has subsequently launched his own internet radio programme and established a wine bar and eatery called Welsh House by Wynne, which he pledged would feature MasterChef -style dishes on the menu as a tribute to his stint on the cookery programme.

EastEnders' Ross takes action to cover up Joel's crimes as he makes discovery

EastEnders' Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) takes shocking action to cover up his twisted son Joel Marshall's (Max Murray) latest crimes next week after he makes a shocking discovery. Since arriving in Walford with Ross and his dad's partner Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) earlier this year, Joel has been at the centre of a dark incel plot. After it was revealed he had previously upskirted one of his classmates back in Australia, Joel recorded himself and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) having sex without her consent. Since then, the teenager has sexually harassed a passenger on the tube and has also been seen watching videos from a misogynistic influencer online. In scenes to air on the BBC soap next week, Joel's behaviour continues to worsen after Ross has to tell him the news that his mum is getting remarried. Reeling from the update, Joel slips out and heads to The Vic to hang out with his friend Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall), but it's not long before Joel leads him astray and the pair steal drinks from the barrel store. Ross and Vicki, and Kat and Alfie Moon (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) are furious when they find the pair, but Joel lashes out with a derogatory outburst at Kat, leaving the parents aghast. Ross later makes another attempt to get through to Joel about his behaviour, and they bond when Joel shares a video from the influencer that he's been following, which Ross wrongly perceives as innocent. Shortly afterwards, however, Ross makes a worrying discovery on Joel's laptop and destroys it. What has Ross uncovered? Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Vicki is later stunned to discover the real reason why Ross broke the laptop and orders her partner to be firm with Joel – despite Vicki herself having covered for him by bribing the woman he assaulted on the tube into not going to the police. More Trending While Ross is heartened after confiding in Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) about his parenting woes, his hopefulness is short-lived when Joel shows his true colours once again, this time in front of punters at The Vic. Joel goes there to apologise to Kat about his previous outburst, but when he overhears Vicki chatting with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) about parenting and men, he is riled – and his anger sparks some worrying consequences… View More » EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 4 August at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer. Victoria Beckham straddles shirtless husband David in steamy yacht moment

Victoria and David Beckham reminded the world what A-list romance looks like this week, sharing a steamy moment aboard their £16 million yacht off the coast of Saint-Tropez. Nearly 25 years after tying the knot, Posh and Becks were photographed in a passionate embrace on the top deck. Victoria was straddling her shirtless husband, the two locked in a lingering embrace as the Mediterranean sun beamed down. The pair, both in their early 50s, proved that time and family tensions haven't dimmed their spark. After a high-profile summer hosting friends like Gordon and Tana Ramsay and longtime pal Eva Longoria, the Beckhams managed to steal some alone time. David, 50, showed off his famously sculpted abs while cooling off in the yacht's outdoor shower following the intimate cuddle session. But not everything aboard the yacht has been picture-perfect. The absence of their eldest son Brooklyn, 26, has only intensified speculation about a growing rift within the Beckham family. Brooklyn was notably absent from David's star-studded 50th birthday celebrations in May and did not join the rest of the family on this luxury holiday, despite vacationing in the same region just days earlier with wife Nicola Peltz and her family. Photos showed Brooklyn leaving the south of France shortly before his parents and siblings arrived, seemingly sidestepping a possible run-in. Meanwhile, the younger Beckham kids appeared to be enjoying the break. Romeo and 14-year-old Harper joined their parents early in the trip, later welcoming Cruz, 20, and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30. The family were seen zipping to shore on a smaller boat for beachside excursions, while Brooklyn remained noticeably out of frame. Rumours of a rift in the family started when Brooklyn and Nicola married in 2022, with reports of tension between her and Victoria Beckham, 51, however talk died down when the pair put on a united front at public events. More Trending However, eyebrows were raised once more when Brooklyn and Nicola failed to make an appearance at David's 50th birthday bash – nor did he, in typical Beckham fashion, send his dad a birthday message on social media. Further fuel was added to the fire when just a short time after this snub, Brooklyn wished Nicola's dad a happy birthday on Instagram. However, Brooklyn – who also posed a cryptic social media video about how he would 'always choose' Nicola – put the alleged drama aside to pay tribute to youngest sibling Harper on her 14th birthday last week. The reason behind the rumored rift is currently unclear, but it has been claimed that Victoria is 'desperate' for things to be patched up between her once-close family. Got a story?
