Forest face Johan Bakayoko transfer hurdle as Premier League rivals muscle in
Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Everton are facing an uphill battle to sign PSV winger Johan Bakayoko - even if they strike a deal with the Dutch giants for his signature.
The three Premier League clubs are going up against one another for the Belgium international and Forest in particular have identified Bakayoko as among their top summer targets following Anthony Elanga's £55million switch to Newcastle.
The 22-year-old is considered one of the best wide options available on the current market as he's entered the final year of his contract in Eindhoven.
However, competition for his signature is incredibly fierce with Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Monaco also in the mix for the attacker.
The majority of those sides have already started club-to-club dialogue with PSV but crucially, Bakayoko is understood to favour Champions League football if he's to pursue a new challenge in the coming weeks - though it's unclear whether that decision is final.
The Eredivisie champions, who want to sell, can offer him just that next season but they're cautious that foreign teams would be free to sign Bakayoko on a pre-contract agreement from January 1.
The Belgian previously snubbed a club-record switch to Brentford in September 2023 and later claimed he did not want to join a 'mid-table' side.
Sources close to Bakayoko have intimated that his preference is to fight for major trophies which so far, has not deterred any of the English clubs currently at the table.
At this stage, Forest and Bournemouth's interest is believed to be more concrete than Everton's as the Toffees also have a number of different wide options on their radar, including Real Sociedad's Takefusa Kubo.
Bakayoko mustered 12 goals and three assists in all competitions for PSV last season and he already has 20 Champions League appearances to his name.
Unlike Bournemouth and Everton, Forest can offer the forward European football next season and there's a chance they'll be playing in the Europa League, subject to an appeal, after Crystal Palace were demoted to the UEFA Conference League on Friday after allegedly breaching UEFA's multi-club ownership rules.

Viktor Gyokeres full transfer fee revealed as Arsenal patience finally pays off
Arsenal are finally set to sign Viktor Gyokeres, the Sporting Lisbon striker, after reaching an agreement with the Portuguese champions to bring the Sweden international to north London Arsenal are closing in on the signature of Viktor Gyokeres - after finally landing a price they like. The Gunners have been in fractious talks with Sporting Lisbon over the Sweden striker. Gyokeres, 27, has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting since moving to Portugal two years ago. But he's desperate to move to a bigger stage and has set his sights on a move to the Gunners. For their part, Arsenal turned their attention to Gyokeres after baulking at RB Leipzig's price tag - plus agent fees - for Benjamin Sesko, who had been Mikel Arteta's No.1 choice to be his new No.9. But sporting director Andrea Berta has always preferred the Swede, has pushed to get the deal done and has negotiated in good faith with Sporting, even when things have turned nasty between the player and his current club. Gyokeres refused to report for Sporting when he was meant to return for pre-season training on Saturday, the latest stage in an ugly stand-off with president club Frederico Varandas. But finally he is set to get his move, having agreed a five year deal with the Gunners. Arsenal have agreed terms on a move worth £55m up front with a further £8.6m in guaranteed add-ons, ensuring a deal worth £63.6m. Sporting had been demanding upwards of £70m but the player's agent has waived the 10 percent of any fee he would've been owed to ensure the move can finally go ahead. Gyokeres is now all set to move this week to North London, as the club's summer strengthening continues, designed to finally give them the Premier League crown they so desperately crave. Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Brentford captain Christian Norgaard and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga have already signed for a combined £71m. Chelsea and England winger Noni Madueke is also arriving for £52m to add further adding thrust from out wide, with Gyokeres finally giving Arteta the out-and-out striker he has been so keen to add.

Will Ollie Watkins leave Aston Villa this summer? The England international is 7/4 with Sky Bet to join Manchester United
Ollie Watkins has been a key figure in Aston Villa's re-emergence as a force in the Premier League in recent seasons. The forward has scored 87 goals in 223 matches for the club since joining in a £28million move from Brentford in 2020. However, Watkins, who is now Aston Villa's top Premier League goalscorer, has been linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer. Arsenal and Manchester United have both been linked with Watkins as both clubs aim to strengthen their forward options. Sky Bet are offering a transfer special on Watkins future, with Man United priced as the 7/4 favourites to sign the England international before September 2. Arsenal and Newcastle are priced as the joint second favourites for Watkins signature at 15/2. The Gunners had a £40m offer for Watkins rejected by Aston Villa in January, while the forward has previously admitted he is an Arsenal fan. Much could depend on how Arsenal's move to Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres progresses. Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool follow in the market at 17/2, with Chelsea given the same odds. Watkins is also priced at 10/1 to join any Saudi Pro League club this summer. Sky Bet odds for Ollie Watkins to sign before September 2, 2025: Man United – 7/4 Arsenal – 15/2 Newcastle – 15/2 Liverpool – 17/2 Chelsea – 17/2 Any Saudi Pro League Club – 10/1 Man City – 22/1 Any MLS Club – 25/1 Tottenham – 33/1
