LeBron James linked with shock move away from the Lakers... just one week after opting into $53m deal in LA
The 40-year-old will play at least another season in the NBA after triggering the one-year-deal, though the move has been followed by trade speculation following a cryptic statement from his agent Rich Paul.
And the Mavericks are reportedly interested in James - though they wouldn't be willing to part with assets in a trade.
ESPN's Dave McMenamin said on ESPN Radio 710 that the Mavs would be interested in James only if he was bought out by the Lakers.
That scenario seems extremely far-fetched, as LA would likely want to recoup some assets in return for the four-time MVP.
Either way, James going to Dallas would see him reunite with his friends and ex- teammates Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis.
Davis was part of the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade in February, which also sent Max Christie to Dallas and a first-round pick back to LA.
James was also overheard seemingly talking about the Knicks during a recent dinner in Manhattan.
While eating at Manhattan Omakase spot FlyFish Club, James could be heard in the background of a video taken by Instagram user @smallzthevillain saying he 'ain't mad looking at New York,' which fans interpreted as him viewing the Knicks as a potential trade destination.
He was also overheard discussing how his wife Savannah wants him to 'f***ing retire in the next year or so.'
While James decided to pick up his Lakers option, the announcement was met with his agent Paul telling ESPN that his client 'values a realistic chance of winning it all.'
'LeBron wants to compete for a championship,' Paul told ESPN. 'He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we've had for eight years with [controlling owner] Jeanie [Buss] and [GM] Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career.

The Lakers finished third in the Western Conference with a 50-32 record following their blockbuster acquisition of Doncic, but looked outmatched in the first round of the playoffs as they fell to the Timberwolves in five games.
James certainly showed his age at times during the season, but ultimately finished with impressive numbers of 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds nonetheless.

Jennifer Lopez drops cryptic clues about Ben Affleck divorce in new song lyrics
Jennifer Lopez debuted six new songs at an exclusive listening party for 30 lucky fans in Los Angeles this week - and dropped a hint about her recent personal turmoil. The 55-year-old filed for divorce from her fourth husband Ben Affleck last August on what would have been their second wedding anniversary. The collapse of their marriage was the culmination of months of rumors that the couple's relationship was skidding towards implosion. Only that February, JLo had put out and album and a movie musical called This Is Me... Now as a paean to Ben - a follow-up to her 2002 LP This Is Me... Then, written during and about their first romance, which also ultimately went up in smoke. Now she appears to have returned to the subject of Ben in her music, in the lyrics to a song called Wreckage of You that she played at the listening party. It also features an enormous 12-car garage, a penthouse for guests, a separate caretaker's house and a two-bedroom guardhouse to ensure safety and privacy. In June, an insider detailed the humiliating extent to which Ben was willing to go in order to sever his ties to Jennifer. 'Ben and slashed the price on their Beverly Hills mansion for $8 million less than they paid for it, but this is nothing to Ben.' 'He really just wants this to be sold so that he can cut the final cord that keeps him and Jennifer intertwined,' they added. The source also said that Ben had never wanted to 'shell out that much for this home to begin with.' LGBT+ A Gay and a NonGay podcast hosts awed at award win
"People have said it's changed their life - that's crazy to me" - Dan Hudson is celebrating after the podcast he and fellow comedian James Barr host, A Gay and a NonGay, won an international scooped a Webby for their discussions about everything from sex and identity, to queer history and politics - with plenty of light-hearted comedy thrown in Hudson, from Solihull in the West Midlands, began the podcast 10 years ago when his girlfriend moved to New York and asked her friend, Mr Barr, to "look after him".The pair say while the award is validating, the response from fans to the podcast are more important. "We get a lot of messages from people who are also a gay and a non gay who are best friends," Mr Hudson said."They love listening to the podcast because we are basically rehearsing a lot of the arguments they have in their daily lives." They claim the show is the UK's biggest LGBT+ podcast and Mr Barr, who also co-presents the Hits Radio breakfast show, added: "We've also had dads with a gay son [contact us] and so we know our friendship is helping other people to find friendship and community.""It's an important friendship. In the real world, straight men are afraid to be friends with gay men."I think it's important we talk about it as a society and that straight men are friends with gay men."On winning the Webby, for Best Independent Podcast, at a ceremony in New York in May, Mr Hudson said: "It was a full circle moment."My girlfriend lives there [in New York] and she was the inspiration and catalyst for the podcast."It was another world being there, absolutely crazy. It was kind of overwhelming." The duo said they felt their podcast was increasingly vital, given the recent prominence of LGBT+ issues in politics, especially the rights of trans Hudson said doing the podcast had "really opened my eyes" to the lives of gay and trans people."We need these conversations more than we've ever needed them. Trans people have an awful time and it's getting worse," he Barr added: "As gay people, we always talk about coming out.
