According to Charm.io, a platform that specializes in providing detailed analytics and insights for businesses and influencers, Pop Mart's TikTok Shop U.S. revenue growth had notable surges from October 2024 onward, with the most significant jumps in April and May 2025. By April 2025, Pop Mart accounted for 0.55 percent of all TikTok Shop U.S. sales.
Labubu appeared in 2015 as a character in 'The Monsters' storybook and made its leap to collectible toy four years later, thanks to China's Pop Mart. The company has other toy characters available for sale, including Skullpand, Crybaby, Hirono, Kubo and more. Labubu, however, has become a viral sensation with fashionistas and celebrities pairing the toy with their luxury bags and stylish outfits. More recently, designer Marc Jacobs and June Ambrose were spotted with their own Labubus.
'Labubu has become more than just a collectible; it's a bold statement of individual style,' Emily Brough, Pop Mart's head of IP licensing, the Americas, previously told WWD. The global collectibles company has launched more than 300 styles of Labubu since 2019, including collaborations with Coca-Cola and Uniqlo.

Labubu Furniture Is Happening
Courtesy of Gina Alva At first glance, the Labubu looks quite ugly, with its grotesque, mischievous face, Cheshire cat smile, and pointed ears like a cartoon bunny elf. But somehow this collectible, part of The Monsters series created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, has swept the nation. Popmart, the Chinese toy and character company that produces these viral figurines, often sells out of them in seconds, with one even being sold at auction for more than $150,000 last month, according to the BBC. Carrying a Labubu as a bag charm has become such a status symbol that American designer Marc Jacobs even carried one (still in its case) on a black Hermès Birkin 40 to his own 2026 runway show held at the New York Public Library on June 30. But now that many have gotten their hands on the coveted creatures, some are doing more than simply taking their Labubu home to display or putting them on bags. Some collectors are going so far as to create a miniature home for their Labubu dolls. For Los Angeles–based content creator Gina Alva, the inspiration to make her own Labubu furniture began in the same place where she first discovered the creatures—TikTok. Part of the Labubu allure to her was that the figurines are purchased as 'blind boxes,' meaning you do not know which version of the character you will get until you open the container. The rare ones are known as 'secrets,' the most coveted of the bunch. The same day Alva set her eyes on a video of a Labubu, her sister secured one for her—a secret, no less. That was in January, and at first she was been quite content with her collection. She was 'god's favorite,' after all, a term of endearment often commented to those blessed with a secret pull. But soon enough, TikTok showed her more to desire: Labubu clothing, Labubu furniture. She wanted to create a home for her creatures—a world. While many creators she saw bought their Labubu accessory items off AliExpress, an online Chinese marketplace, with the ongoing tariff war (between the US and most of the world), Alva decided against that route. There has always been something inherently slow about collecting furniture and building a room, even if it's for a collectible toy, so with that in mind, Alva hit Dollar Tree (she found that Michaels craft store was more expensive) for supplies. With a hot glue gun, fuzzy fabric, and a dream, she created a Labubu car seat and TikTok tutorial that got over 1.9 million views. 'I get so many comments from people saying that they made a mini car seat for their child to play with, or for their friends. I saw one video where about five people were sitting at a table making car seats,' Alva tells AD. 'It's so amazing.' Since then, she has truly created a home for her Labubus, which are named Glossy Gem, Lolo, Momo, and Toto, making bean bag chairs out of tissue paper and fabric and buying generic doll clothing and furniture at Dollar Tree, such as a miniature swimming pool, closet, chairs, and even a toilet. YouTuber Unique Daily has always been an avid collector, of Barbie shoes, Pee Wee Herman merchandise, and Freddy Krueger dolls. Now, as a content creator and mother of six, she collects Labubus, and she recently documented her journey hunting for tiny furniture for them at the thrift store and, of course, Dollar Tree. 'It's nice to just kind of sit them on their furniture, it just kind of gives them a different ambience, not always hanging on my purse,' says Daily. 'I think it's adorable.' A number of factors can motivate people who collect items like Labubu dolls. Dr. Shirley Mueller, a board-certified neurologist and psychiatrist, and world-renowned collector of Chinese porcelain, says collecting can even be a sign of a healthy brain. 'Not only do Labubus enrich the lives of the people who collect them, but [they do so] in a very meaningful way. Not only socially, not only because of the thrill of the chase, but also with the ability to reenact with the Labubu,' says the author of Inside the Head of a Collector: Neuropsychological Forces at Play. Adding furniture to a Labubu's world could be seen as part of this reenactment of real-life situations with the doll. 'I think the people who collect Labubu want to not only complete a set, but they want to make the Labubus whole, so to speak,' Dr. Mueller says. 'To a certain degree, it is realistic, but it's a bit of a fantasy with Labubu. It is placing oneself out of our own mental status into a whole different world—the Labubu world. That's very refreshing to have something outside of ourselves.' If you want to make your own Labubu a home, Etsy and Amazon are excellent places to start. While there is no official Labubu branded furniture yet, a search for 'Labubu furniture' followed by the item you're seeking will turn up plenty of options. Amazon, in particular, has a great selection of seats and sofas, while Etsy has an array of 3D-printed furniture, such as closets and car seats. If you want to get even more creative (and have your doll's measurements), simply search for doll furniture and see if it fits. Elsewhere online, retailer Living With Labubu sells goods such as bean bags and a motorized toy scooter for these little creatures. According to a Reddit thread on r/labubu, Labubus perfectly fit IKEA doll furniture as well, and this wouldn't be the first time the cult-favorite Swedish retailer found favor among collectors. Other threads on Reddit reveal that IKEA doll furniture is also popular among collectors of Monster High, Blythe dolls, and more. With so many options out there, the world is your Labubu's oyster. Simu Liu, Jeremy Lin headline celebrity basketball game at ARC World in Toronto
ARC World may be a celebration of Asian culture, but organizer Clement Chu hopes that people from all backgrounds come and enjoy the one-day festival in downtown Toronto. Food, shops, music and speakers will all be featured at Toronto Metropolitan University's Kerr Hall on Saturday, with a celebrity basketball game including actor Simu Liu and former Toronto Raptors star Jeremy Lin the day's finale. Chu said that there will be something for everyone, whether they have ties to Asia or not. 'The stories that some of these people are telling here, it's not just necessarily about them being Asian but it's a story of resilience,' he said in a recent phone interview. 'These are stories that apply way beyond, the Asian community so we hope people get that out of it. 'We hope people come enjoy the things that come from our culture, whether it's food or art or entertainment. More than anything else, we want to get young people out and volunteering and making contributions back to the community, because we feel a lot of that was lost during COVID.' Originally named the Chinese Canadian Youth Athletic Association, the Asian Roots Collective was founded 30 years ago by Chu and his friends to create a safe space to play basketball. Chu said that over time the organization's mission has broadened to include people with connections to all of Asia and to encompass other 'universal languages' that, like basketball, can bring people together even if there are other linguistic or cultural barriers. 'We want to showcase all these things that are excellent, that are happening,' said Chu. 'So we decided to change the direction of the organization a little bit, because we're no longer just Chinese, we're no longer just youth oriented programs, and we're sure as heck not just athletics. 'We wanted to have a calling card that was more representative of what we're doing. This year is the first year we're launching ARC World, which is this convention where we're celebrating all things Asian.' The acronym ARC still reflects those roots in basketball, however. 'Because we come from basketball, (the name) is like the three-point arc, your shot arc, but we're trying to tell a story now so this is a narrative arc,' said Chu. 'That was the inspiration behind the name of the organization.' ARC has come a long way since it was founded in 1995, the same year the Raptors started playing in Toronto. Back then, Chu and other leaders within the organization had to rent basketball courts at local high schools. Now they have their own athletic centre in Markham, Ont. 'We used to make that joke about, 'oh, you know, one day, as opposed to renting schools, we'd love to have the keys to gym,' because that's the dream of every kid, to have the keys to gym so you could shoot around,' he said. 'It's just funny because, like, fast forward, 30 years later, through some of these initiatives, we were able to raise enough money to build our own mini-community centre with a basketball hoop and stuff, but so now we do have the keys to the gym which is pretty, pretty cool. 'The only downside is, I'm so old now that I can't really play anymore, but the kids now have a place to run around, we have video games there, art, we teach coding, it's gone far beyond just basketball.' Arcadia Restaurant Blue Magpie Introduces Taiwanese Upscale Dining to SGV
One of Southern California's most ambitious new restaurants just made a quiet debut in the San Gabriel Valley. Blue Magpie, a modern Taiwanese fine dining restaurant named after the island's national bird, opened June 11 in Arcadia, taking over the former Rod's Grill space blocks away from the Santa Anita Park racetrack. The 3,500-square-foot space's transformation is striking, featuring chandeliers and a sleek, modern design with nods to the Formosan blue magpie bird throughout. Two private dining rooms are situated beyond a sleek dining area with chandeliers, custom wallpaper, and bird-patterned tile. Leading the kitchen is Taipei-born executive chef Leo Lo, who has opened several restaurants across Taiwan. The project is a collaboration with Kevin Tang, a local entrepreneur who grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and spent two years developing the room and concept. 'We had to redesign and rebuild the entire structure,' says Tang. 'I wanted to create something that felt true to Taiwanese culture but presented in a more layered and elegant way.' Tang, who has watched the number of Taiwanese restaurants in the area, like Old Country Cafe and the Kembo Truck, dwindle over the years, says he wanted to open Blue Magpie to fill a void. The San Gabriel Valley still thrives with regional Chinese restaurants, but few are focused on broadening Taiwanese cuisine through a fine dining lens. Blue Magpie serves lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, with a weekend brunch menu that draws from Taiwanese street food but leans upscale. Meals begin with a complimentary plate of gobo root chips, crisp slices of burdock root fried until golden and lightly salted. Hakka-style pork belly and eggs. Chef Lo's menu reworks traditional Taiwanese food with contemporary influences. His three-cup duck, a twist on the classic chicken version that typically uses equal parts soy, rice wine, and sesame oil, is glazed in a rich sauce and served with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. The dongpo rou gets served tableside: soy-braised pork belly comes with marinated eggs, Shaoxing wine, and a blanket of over-easy eggs that melt into the rice beneath. Càipǔdàn, a preserved radish omelet, gets an aromatic lift from truffle butter. A version of mala popcorn chicken arrives hot and crunchy, with Sichuan peppercorn, you tiao (Chinese fried cruller), and dried chiles. Other plates push Taiwanese flavors in new directions. Torched tableside, the Napa casserole layers sakura shrimp, dried scallops, and kurobuta pork under bubbling cheese. The 24-hour brewed chicken ambrosia soup comes loaded with prosciutto, bamboo shoots, and deep savory flavor. The fermented rice short ribs reinterpret a traditional red grain pork dish with a punch of lemon, peppers, and Shaoxing wine. Blue Magpie's hollandaise tofu is made with translucent slices of tofu topped with century egg hollandaise and pork floss, while a dragon whisker salad comes with chayote shoots, sesame oil, kombu vinaigrette, and bonito flakes. The brunch menu draws inspiration from Taiwanese street snacks; Lo applies modern takes on nostalgic flavors here, too. Options include a crispy chicken sandwich, a tea egg and milk toast sandwich, and a deep-fried lobster and prosciutto stack. While cocktails are currently served only at dinner, they reflect similar themes found throughout the menu. Many drinks are infused with Taiwanese teas, steeped or prepared sous vide for hours to bring out layered flavors. The Moonlight Bloom, made with osmanthus gaoliang, longan juice, and housemade osmanthus honey, is floral, bold, and slightly smoky. Other options include a winter melon highball and the Lady Camellia, made with jasmine gin, elderflower, and grapefruit. Homemade syrups, such as elderflower and longan honey, are used in several fruit-forward teas and sodas. The milk tea uses condensed milk slow-cooked for eight hours, then topped with zested orange peel, a dulce de leche milk foam, and seasonal Taiwanese fruit tea. Taiwanese flavors abound at mall giant Din Tai Fung, Vivian Ku's Joy and Pine & Crane restaurants, as well as Jon Yao's celebrated high-end tasting menu at Kato, but the cuisine still has plenty of room to grow in Southern California. 'We want to show that Taiwanese cuisine is more than street food or comfort fare,' Lo says. 'It is vibrant, diverse, and deeply expressive.' Blue Magpie is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for dinner, located at 41 W.
