The already-powerful Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray has received a massive performance upgrade courtesy of renowned tuner Callaway Cars, pushing the hybrid Corvette's horsepower rating to an eye-popping 847.
Unveiled this week, Callaway's performance upgrade revolves around a 2.9-liter twin-screw Gen4 supercharger paired with an advanced TripleCooled air-to-liquid intercooler. Complemented by Callaway's proprietary "CalCal" engine software tuning, the modification significantly enhances the Corvette's factory 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine.
While the standard E-Ray already delivers over 650 horsepower thanks to its hybrid drivetrain combining a gasoline engine and a 160-horsepower electric motor, Callaway's enhancements increase total output dramatically. The gasoline engine alone jumps to 687 horsepower and 643 pound-feet of torque, which when paired with the electric motor, culminates in a combined 847 horsepower—one of the highest outputs ever offered in a street-legal Corvette.
Notably, Callaway's upgrade isn't limited to the E-Ray. The supercharger kit also fits the non-hybrid C8 Corvette Stingray, which shares the same gasoline V8 powerplant. When fitted to the Stingray, Callaway claims the supercharged Corvette accelerates from 0-60 mph in a blistering 2.67 seconds and covers the quarter-mile in just 10.64 seconds at 129 mph.
Despite the substantial power boost, Callaway emphasizes efficiency and reliability, stating the supercharger requires minimal engine power to operate—just one horsepower—ensuring negligible impact on fuel economy. The upgrade retains all original factory sensors and complies fully with federal and state emissions regulations, including California's stringent CARB standards.
Customers purchasing the Callaway supercharger package will receive unique badging, a leather-bound authenticity certificate, and peace of mind through a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty running alongside GM's factory coverage. Additional customization options include a widebody kit, a signature double-D exhaust system, forged nine-spoke wheels, performance chassis upgrades, and exclusive graphic packages.
Callaway-authorized Chevrolet dealerships in North America are now accepting reservations for the upgrade with a $1,000 deposit required to secure a build slot.

Audi E-Tron GT Is A Worthy Lamborghini Cousin

Audi RS e-tron Performance I've driven other vehicles from the Audi e-tron lineup in the past, and have been duly impressed with their instant torque, high-tech interiors, and precision tuning. But I'd never driven the RS e-tron GT before, and it took my breath away. Lithe, beautiful, and quick, the 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance is a sleek machine. This all-electric four-door sounds and drives much differently than the Audi RS6 Avant, and while I kind of missed the RS6 Avant's throaty roar I fell hard for the quiet acceleration of the RS e-tron GT. Bottom line: while this all-electric car uses Porsche-sourced platform and powertrains, it transcends its origins. If Lamborghini were to decide to make a battery-powered sedan, I think it would feel a lot like the Audi RS e-tron GT. Audi RS e-tron Performance interior What's New For The Audi E-Tron GT For 2025? Audi updated the powertrain and added the RS Performance option, which boasts an blistering 912 horsepower. The RS still impresses at 845 hp, and the base S model is no slouch with 670 hp. The e-tron GT styling was freshened up for 2025, including elements like the grille and wheels. Of the nine exterior colors, two are new (I'm partial to the Progressive Red hue). Audi RS e-tron Performance Carbon, Carbon Everywhere Inside the RS e-tron GT Performance, the cabin can be festooned with carbon fiber from tip to tip. An $8,400 forged carbon package adds 21-inch 6-double-spoke wheels, a dark carbon roof panel, illuminated forged carbon door sill inlays, forged carbon exterior trim and mirror housings, and forged carbon interior inlays. Plus, that package comes with summer tires for optimal zip. Audi RS e-tron Performance Range, And Still Room For Cargo In This Audi E-Tron A family of four could happily enjoy this car on a lengthy road trip. When equipped with 20-inch wheels, the e-tron GT S model is good for 91 MPGe in the city and 88 MPGe on the highway. You'll have to give up 2 MPGe in the city and 3 MPGe on the highway if you opt for the 21-inch wheels. Range is more than adequate to please the majority of EV drivers; the S model can go up to 300 miles on a full charge and the RS Performance with the larger wheels loses just six miles for a total of 294. The 97.0-kWh lithium-ion battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes on a fast charger. Under the power liftgate, the e-tron GT has 9 cubic feet of capacity. That's plenty for a few carry-on bags and backpacks, with room to spare for snacks. Need to store a little extra? There's another two cubic feet in the frunk, or front trunk. Audi RS e-tron Performance Audi E-Tron RS Cabin Tech Audi is known to build tech-forward cabins and infotainment systems, and this electric sedan is no exception. The 10.1-inch touchscreen is well integrated into the dash and physical controls on the steering wheel and the console make it easy to navigate. Also, I'd recommend the panoramic fixed glass roof with digital light control for the most aesthetic appeal, and extra headroom that a physical shade would inhibit. The Audi e-tron lineup continues to set the pace for the future, and the RS e-tron GT Performance is guaranteed to thrill.

Nissan to launch new e-Power hybrid system

Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Corporation announced it will launch its latest-generation e-Power hybrid powertrain in Europe this year, which it says delivers enhanced efficiency, lower emissions, and a quieter drive compared with the previous generation. Nissan pointed out that the third-generation, 5-in-1 modular e-Power system has been comprehensively re-engineered to help 'smooth its transition from fuel towards zero emissions.' It integrates the electric motor, generator, inverter, reducer and increaser, into a compact and lighter package. The new powertrain features an all-new, dedicated 3-cylinder 1.5-litre turbocharged engine used only to generate electricity, which is distributed directly to the electric motor and also to charge the battery when required. Nissan pointed out that the e-Power does not have a 'complicated gearbox and coupling to combine petrol power and electric energy to drive the wheels, meaning that response is instant and the drive is always smooth, just like an EV.' It also uses a regenerative braking system to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy, which is fed back into the battery. The new e-Power system will be installed for the first time in Europe in the new Qashqai, scheduled to be launched in September, providing a fuel consumption of 4.5 litres per 100 km (WLTP), a range of up to 1200 km, CO2 emissions reduced to 102g/km from 116g/km in the previous system, while cabin noise has been reduced to 5.6 decibels. It will have a 'real-world' range is over 1000 km on a full tank. The new e-Power system will also be available in the North American Rogue SUV in the 2026 model year and in the fourth-generation Elgrand large minivan, which is scheduled to be launched in Japan in the 2026 fiscal year. Nissan's Chief Technology Officer, Eiichi Akashi, said in a statement: 'This new, third generation e-Power system redefines Nissan's hybrid technology, providing smooth and responsive driving in all conditions. We've embedded close to a decade of learnings to ensure the system is more efficient, more refined, and more competitive. The launch with Qashqai is just the beginning. We look forward to delivering this advanced powertrain to customers in North America and Japan in FY26, with other markets to follow.'
