What! Bigfoot finally caught on camera? Rafting crew video shows a creature that looks almost like Bigfoot!

Time of India05-06-2025
For centuries, tales of a large, hairy, human-like creature known as Bigfoot have been famous in the Native American folklore popularly calling it as 'Sasquatch' or 'wild man', and in the modern world after multiple alleged sightings of the humanoid cryptid the legend has become part of pop culture and mystery lore.
The story came into the public eye in 1958 when a letter to a California newspaper described enormous footprints found near a logging site. But the most famous moment came in 1967 with the Patterson-Gimlin film that had grainy footage showing a hulking creature moving through the trees at Bluff Creek, which still is debated today whether it was a man in a costume or genuine evidence of a creature science hasn't identified.
On May 24, 2025 alleged new sighting of Bigfoot in Colorado has once again pushed this legend into the limelight. According to DailyMail.com, a whitewater rafting crew with the Colorado River Expedition was taking a lunch break near the Upper Colorado River when something unusual caught their attention in the woods.
'Someone yelled out that they saw a bear, so we started looking at it, and that's when we realized it was something else.
It wasn't a bear. It was standing up there on the hillside,' said Logan Kirk, the lead rafting guide.
Kirk described the creature as clearly bipedal, which made it immediately catch the attention of the rafting group. 'It was definitely bipedal, which really stood out to us,' he added. The video they captured has since gone viral, showing a large, furry figure moving through dense trees. At one point, the figure seems to stop and stare directly at the camera before vanishing into the forest.
While some online are convinced it's Bigfoot, others argue it's more likely someone in a suit or a bear briefly standing on two legs.
Still, Kirk remains curious. 'We're gonna go up to see if we can find any evidence of what was going on up there, whether that's footprints or something else. Who knows? It's so hard in the rocks to actually get anything like that, but we want to see if there's anything there,' he told DailyMail.com.
This sighting isn't an isolated incident either. Colorado has seen over 100 Bigfoot-related reports since March this year. 'We're still trying to figure it out,' Kirk added. 'We've gone through the footage and zoomed in on the images, whatever it is, whether Bigfoot or some other creature.'
What is Bigfoot?
The search for Bigfoot and other unknown creatures is part of a field called cryptozoology, which isn't fully recognised as science.
Some experts think the legend might have started with a real extinct giant ape called Gigantopithecus. Fossils of this ape were found in Southeast Asia, and it may have lived alongside early humans.
According to Native American folklore, Bigfoot was known as a 'wild man' or a guardian of the forest. Many tribes believed it was a powerful, spiritual being that lived deep in nature, watching over the land and keeping balance, and it is not just a mysterious animal or creature, but a real being.
Its common name "Sasquatch" comes from the Salish word "Sasquits," while tribes like the Algonquin call a similar creature "Witiko" or "Wendigo." Many Native American tribes also have stories of a large, human-like being with special powers. The Ojibway people of the Northern Plains believed a creature called the Rugaru would appear during times of danger, acting as a warning for humans to change their behaviour and ways of living.
Other tribes also saw this hairy figure as a messenger or a sign to pay attention.

Elon Musk's Grok video tool may get Spicy Mode: Here's what it will do

Elon Musk 's artificial intelligence startup, xAI, has reportedly announced that Grok chatbot's video generation tool may get a new "Spicy Mode.' This mode may allow users to generate 6-second video clips, including explicit ones, a report claims. The Spicy Mode is expected to be a part of Grok's "Imagine" video generation tool, which the company confirmed in a recent post on the social media platform X (earlier Twitter) shared from the chatbot's official account. As per the post, this tool can create videos with sound in response to user prompts. Meanwhile, in a different thread of posts shared by xAI employee Mati Roy , showed examples of videos generated by the new Grok feature, which included a robot and an "alien tribal woman." Roy's thread was even labelled as adult content on X. What Grok's Spicy Mode will do and why it's controversial According to a report by NBC News, Roy mentioned in one of the posts that " Grok Imagine videos have a spicy mode that can do nudity.' However, that tweet appears to have been deleted now. Another X user named Min Choi also confirmed that the Spicy Mode, which can create explicit videos, is coming to Grok. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Missing teeth? What are my Options? Dental Awareness Media Learn More Undo Roy's deleted post about Grok's AI video generator mentioned its ability to create lifelike human videos and animate still images. However, some observers have raised concerns that the tool may be misused to produce personalised explicit content . Previously, multiple individuals raised concerns about Grok being used to create sexually explicit images in their likeness. A young woman named Evie told USA Today that her selfies were turned into explicit imagery using the AI chatbot . Despite X implementing restrictions on specific phrases, users reportedly found other ways to harass victims, including asking the bot to generate stories depicting sexual assault. Some of the other recent Grok-related launches have also been controversial, including a sexualized AI 'companion.' Similarly, the latest feature has raised concerns about enabling deepfakes—realistic, altered videos that may mimic people without their consent. The release date for "Imagine" is set for later this year, with some employees and subscribers reportedly having early access. Musk has indicated that programmers are still refining the feature. This update is part of Grok 4, the latest version of the AI chatbot, which the company describes as a highly advanced artificial intelligence. BTS' ‘Forever We Are Young' Documentary Celebrates The Power Of ARMY

Titled 'BTS ARMY: Forever We Are Young', the documentary premiered in theatres worldwide on July 30. The moment that BTS 's fans, aka the ARMYs, were waiting for is finally here! Titled BTS ARMY: Forever We Are Young, the documentary, which focuses mainly on their loyal fans, premiered in theatres worldwide on Wednesday, July 30. The 95-minute-long film, helmed by award-winning directors Grace Lee and Patty Ahn, follows BTS's fandom, whose limitless support helped the group to scale such heights of fame globally. According to the synopsis of the film, it 'dives into the passionate fandom that catapulted 21st-century pop icons BTS into a global household name." The documentary takes viewers inside the lives of BTS's fans from all over the world, including South Korea and the US, as reported by The Mirror US. From a BTS-focused ReactorCon in Lewisville, Texas, to a dance instructor teaching only BTS-related choreography to their students, the film captures how fans have helped the group to become one of the leading names in the industry. Through the documentary, the makers also highlighted that BTS's ARMY is not just made up of 'screaming teen girls", but comprises diverse people. It includes people of all ages, genders, cultures and backgrounds. The synopsis of the film further stated, 'The film captures the powerful spirit of activism and collectivism that make ARMY a symbol of hope and unity in our ever-fractured world." How Did BTS Become So Famous? The seven-membered group began their journey in 2013 under BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE). RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook first made hip-hop songs, but later they came to be known for their meaningful pop songs. One of the biggest reasons behind their unprecedented success is their loyal fanbase called the ARMY, which stands for Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. In their early years, fans worked hard to promote BTS through every medium. They shared posts, made trends and even called up radio stations requesting them to play BTS songs. However, a fan shared in the documentary that their request would get turned down as BTS did not sing in English. And now, all thanks to ARMYs, BTS is a global name, having five Grammy nominations. ARMYs Impact Beyond Making BTS A Global Name Besides working hard to popularise their favourite boys, ARMYs have also come together for numerous good causes. In 2020, when BTS donated $1 million to the Black Lives Matter movement, their fans followed as well. The ARMYs also donated an equal amount to the cause. Back in 2017, BTS partnered with UNICEF to launch the 'Love Myself" campaign, aimed at ending violence against children and teens. Their fans quickly rallied behind the cause, helping raise significant funds to support the initiative. view comments First Published: July 31, 2025, 09:08 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. The source said: 'They love seeing her happy and fully approve. They think Liam is great and have gotten to know him better in the last few months." She's just terrific to work with. I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work.
