Jamal Musiala back at training for Bayern Munich at Club World Cup after injury scare

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Star German midfielder Jamal Musiala is back training with Bayern Munich on Sunday after he went off only 25 minutes after entering Friday night's Club World Cup match for Bayern Munich and was substituted by national team veteran Thomas Muller in the 82nd minute.
Musiala came on in the 57th minute against Boca Juniors. Originally, the concern was that Musiala might have sustained an injury, with coach Vincent Kompany saying after the game 'he wanted to talk to the doctors first.'
The 22 year-old had been recovering from a torn hamstring during the Bundesliga season.
Musiala had not played since April and returned to Bayern training on May 7. Bayern and German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann decided not to select him to the squad during the UEFA Nations League semifinals in late May.
Musiala has already had a hat trick in this Club World Cup, in Bayern's first game rout of Auckland City FC.

The states that filed the petitions for West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox want the Supreme Court to decide whether West Virginia's and Idaho's laws restricting transgender student participation violate the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment and Title IX, the federal law that bars sex-based discrimination. The West Virginia lawsuit was filed in 2021 on behalf of Becky Pepper-Jackson, a transgender middle schooler who was looking to try out for her school's girls cross-country team and has played sports on teams that match her gender identity for several seasons.

Australia choose to bat first in Grenada against a West Indies four-pace attack

ST. GEORGE'S, Grenada (AP) — Australia won the toss and chose to bat first against the West Indies in the second test on Thursday. Australia, 1-0 up in the three-test series, named its team earlier and Steve Smith returns in place of Josh Inglis. Smith missed the first test in Barbados after his finger injury in the World Test Championship final at Lord's last month. Advertisement The West Indies also made one change; dropping frontline spinner Jomel Warrican for a fourth seamer, Anderson Phillip, who will play his first test since 2022. The West Indies lost in three days in Barbados but the National Stadium pitch is expected to be a little kinder for batters. But nobody was certain because St. George's hasn't hosted any cricket in a year. Former captain Kraigg Brathwaite will play his 100th test. His successor, Roston Chase, said he was happy with the toss decision, as he wanted to bowl. ___ Lineups: West Indies: Kraigg Brathwaite, John Campbell, Keacy Carty, Brandon King, Shai Hope, Roston Chase (captain), ustin Greaves, Anderson Phillip, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales. Advertisement Australia: Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Cameron Green, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Beau Webster, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins (captain), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood. ___ AP cricket:
