Julien Calloud Appointed CEO of SAVOYE to Lead a New Era of Performance and Innovation
This strategic appointment marks a new chapter for SAVOYE, a French company specializing in intralogistics solutions and supply chain software. With a strong technological foundation, recognized expertise, and a robust network of distributor-integrators, SAVOYE supports clients both in France and internationally.
In his new role, Julien Calloud will oversee the strategic and operational management of the company. His mission is to coordinate all departments and further strengthen SAVOYE's momentum in innovation and sustainable growth.
A dual French-German graduate of the European Institute of Advanced Business Studies in Strasbourg, Julien Calloud brings over 20 years of industrial experience, including eight years in the intralogistics sector. He began his career in 2005 at Daimler Buses, where he held several key positions: Supply Chain Manager, Head of Training and Documentation, After-Sales Director, and Sales Director. In 2017, he joined Jungheinrich France as Managing Director Sales and was appointed President of the French subsidiary in 2019, contributing to the company's sustained growth and market consolidation.

Beirut Port Sees Container Traffic Surge to Highest Monthly Level in More than 5 Years
Taarek Refaat Beirut Port has recorded its highest monthly container traffic since 2019, signaling a notable rebound in Lebanon's maritime trade activity after years of stagnation and crisis. According to a statement issued Friday by the Port of Beirut's Management and Investment Authority, container throughput in July reached approximately 100,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), a 39% increase compared to the same month in 2024, when the figure stood at 72,000 TEUs. The authority credited the surge to improvements in operational infrastructure, streamlined logistics services, and the renewed confidence of global shipping lines. The port's container terminal is operated by CMA CGM, a leading French container transportation and shipping company. 'This level marks the highest container activity at the port since 2019, reaffirming Beirut's position as a key maritime hub in the Eastern Mediterranean,' the statement said. The increase in activity follows a turbulent period for Beirut Port, which was devastated by a massive explosion in August 2020 that killed over 200 people and destroyed large parts of the surrounding area. Recovery efforts in the years since have been slow, hampered by Lebanon's ongoing economic and political instability. However, port officials say a combination of strategic reforms, improved operational flow, and international partnerships have led to a renewed sense of optimism. Shipping companies have begun to reintroduce Beirut into their regular routes, a vote of confidence in the port's ability to handle cargo efficiently and securely. 'The port is working to further enhance the working environment and upgrade services to ensure this positive momentum continues,' the statement added. Beirut Port, alongside Rafic Hariri International Airport, remains one of Lebanon's most vital trade and logistics gateways. Chelsea loan defender Sarr back to Strasbourg for upcoming season - World
Premier League side Chelsea loaned teenage defender Mamadou Sarr back to sister club Strasbourg on Friday for the upcoming Ligue 1 season. The French club confirmed the loan move on its website, having sold the highly rated Sarr to Chelsea in June. Strasbourg is owned by the consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital that bought Chelsea in 2022. The 19-year-old Sarr is a France under-20 international. He was a regular last season, playing 27 league games as Alsace-based Strasbourg finished in seventh place to seal a place in the Conference League playoffs. He previously played briefly for Lyon. Chelsea won the Conference League last season and will play in the Champions League after finishing in fourth place in the Premier League. Strasbourg was bought by Chelsea's ownership group, BlueCo, in 2023. Chelsea said Sarr had signed a contract until 2033 but didn't disclose the transfer fee.
