North Bay Haven wins second region title in three years

Yahoo25-04-2025
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – The North Bay Haven boys tennis team defeated South Walton 4-1 at home Thursday afternoon, winning the Class 2A Region 1 Championship.
It was the second region title for the Buccaneers in three seasons and the second in program history.
North Bay Haven will be underdogs at the FHSAA State Championships but senior Nicolas Silva says they're going to give it their best shot.
'I'm never counting anything out,' Silva said. 'I mean, it's not about who the bigger school is or who the best players are, it's about who's playing the best on that day and who's doing their best on that day. So, that's what we're looking forward to.'
The State meet will be held in Orlando from Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2.

Roma hold exploratory talks for Fabio Silva

Roma is looking for a versatile striker for Gian Piero Gasperini. One of the names at the top of the list is Wolverhampton Wanderers' striker Fabio Silva. As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Massara is closely monitoring the situation and has already held exploratory talks with the English side. Silva's contract with the English club is expiring, a factor that could facilitate a deal for the Giallorossi. Silva began his Premier League adventure in 2020, but over the years he has been loaned to various teams, including Las Palmas. Despite his central striker role, Silva also has the right characteristics to adapt as a left winger, a position Gasperini is looking to strengthen. Wolverhampton Wanderers' asking price is around €15 million, a figure that could be within Roma's reach.

Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva: Odds and what to know ahead of UFC Fight Night 259 headliner

Former title challenger Diego Lopes will look to get back in the featherweight contender conversation when he takes on the red-hot and surging Jean Silva in the main event of UFC Fight Night 259, also known as the 3rd annual Noche UFC celebration. Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva preview Lopes (27-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) and Silva (16-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) both fought on the same card of April's UFC 314 in Miami. Lopes competed in the main event, falling short in a unanimous decision against Alexander Voplkanovski for the vacant featherweight title. The loss snapped a five-fight winning streak that turned Lopes from a UFC newcomer to a contender and one of the biggest stars in the division. Meanwhile, Silva secured the biggest win of his career, submitting contender Bryce Mitchell in the main card. Silva is now on an impressive 13-fight winning streak, with five of those victories coming in the UFC. Silva's last career defeat took place in 2018 in the regional circuit of Brazil. Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva odds According to DraftKings, Lopes is +160 underdog to halt the momentum of the streaking Silva, who is a -192 favorite for his first UFC headliner. Chelsea outcast Raheem Sterling linked with shock Premier League transfer

Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling could make the short move to Fulham in the summer transfer window. The 30-year-old's time at Stamford Bridge appears to be up, three years after he completed his £47.5 million move from Manchester City. Sterling, who spent last season on loan with Arsenal, has struggled to rediscover the form that once made him one of the Premier League's elite attackers. He failed to find the net in the top flight in the 2024/25 campaign after being handed just seven league starts by Mikel Arteta. Chelsea outcast Sterling linked with shock Fulham transfer With seemingly no place for him in Enzo Maresca's squad, the former Liverpool star 'will be allowed to leave' Chelsea once again this summer, according to The Telegraph. Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus have been linked with Sterling, but it is now claimed that Fulham have put him on a 'shortlist of summer targets'. A move for Sterling has been 'discussed' inside Craven Cottage as Marco Silva looks to add experience to his team following last season's record points total of 54. Chelsea are said to want £20m for the England international. Silva is also looking to bring Arsenal player Reiss Nelson back to Fulham following his loan spell last term. The two clubs have reportedly been in talks about another loan deal, although the Gunners would like to add a 'permanent element' to any potential transfer as the winger enters the final 24 months of his contract. The 25-year-old made 12 appearances, six of which were starts, in all competitions for the Cottagers, scoring two goals and providing one assist. His season was cut short in December when he sustained a hamstring injury. It is possible that Fulham sign both players following the departure of Willian as Silva looks to add 'further wide options' to his squad ahead of next season.
