Tej Pratap clears interview for commercial pilot license training
Former Bihar Minister Tej Pratap Yadav, who was recently expelled from the RJD by his father and founding president Lalu Prasad, has cleared the interview for initial stage of pilot training (Ab-Initio) to commercial pilot license (CPL) course.
According to the list of successful candidates released by the Directorate of Aviation (Bihar government) on June 20, Mr. Yadav has secured the fifth rank among 18 candidates who cleared the interview and document verification process for the Ab-Initio to CPL course. The interview and document verification process was held between December 16, 2024 to December 18, 2024.
The former Bihar minister was expelled from RJD on May 25 by his father Lalu Prasad for six years, a day after he reportedly confessed to being "in a relationship" with a woman named Anushka. He, however, deleted the facebook post later with a claim that his page was "hacked". Lalu Prasad also disowned Tej Pratap due to his "irresponsible behaviour".
The post had created a huge controversy and Mr. Yadav's estranged wife Aishwarya alleged before the media that her in-laws had "ruined" her life by getting her married to him despite his being in a relationship with another woman since much before their wedding in 2018.
A few days later after his expulsion from the party, Tej Pratap Yadav had alleged that there was a "conspiracy" to drive a wedge between him and his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav. He had voiced his sentiments in a couple of posts on his X handle, blaming the crisis on 'Jaichand' a metaphor for traitors.
Using the Mahabharata imagery, which he has been employing to describe his relationship with his far more successful younger brother, Mr. Yadav had written, "Those dreaming of a rift between me and Arjun, will never succeed in conspiracy. They can win over the military of Krishna, but can't capture Krishna himself. I will soon expose every such conspiracy."
Without mentioning Tejashwi Yadav by name, he added, "My brother, I would ask you to have faith that I am with you in all circumstances. My blessings were with you and will be so always. Please take care of Mummy and Papa, Jaichand is outside as well as within.
His expulsion came barely a few months ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls, which the RJD will fight under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav. Born to Prasad and Rabri Devi, both former chief ministers of Bihar, the two brothers are among four of nine siblings active in politics.
Tej Pratap Yadav made his political debut in the assembly polls of 2015 and is a second-term MLA with two brief stints in the state cabinet.

NEW DELHI: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has expressed keenness to join the Mahagathbandhan alliance and contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections together "to prevent the BJP-led NDA from returning to power." Owaisi, however, said that he tried to enter the opposition alliance in 2020, but talks fell through. "Our state president, Akhtarul Iman, has spoken to some leaders in the Mahagathbandhan and has categorically stated that we do not want the BJP or NDA to come back to power in Bihar. Now, it is up to these political parties that also want to prevent the NDA's return. Five years ago, I had also tried personally, but nothing came out of it," Owaisi said. "This time too, our state president is making an effort. But it is up to them. We will be contesting elections in Seemanchal and outside Seemanchal as well. If they are not ready, I am prepared to contest everywhere. Wait for the right time — it is too early to announce the exact number of seats," he added. Earlier, party state president and sole MLA Akhtarul Iman said that the party has conveyed its willingness to both RJD chief Lalu Prasad and the Congress leadership. "We are waiting for their response. We are ready to bury the hatchet despite the fact that the RJD took away our four MLAs. We want to move past these issues to achieve the bigger goal of defeating the NDA," he said. "Like-minded people must come under one umbrella if we are to oust the NDA from power in Bihar. The RJD and Congress might be interested in power, but our intent is to fight for justice," he added. In the 2020 assembly elections, AIMIM altered the political dynamics in the state after winning five seats in the Seemanchal region. The party contested 14 of its 20 seats in the state as part of the Grand Democratic Secular Front (GDSF) and won five: Amour, Jokihat, Bahadurganj, Baisi, and Kochadhaman. The region holds strategic importance for the Mahagathbandhan's ambitions to form the government, as both the Congress and RJD have traditionally relied on strong support from the Yadav and Muslim communities. Later in 2022, four of AIMIM's five MLAs joined RJD. AIMIM was subsequently blamed by both the Congress and the RJD for splitting the "secular" vote. The assembly election is scheduled for the end of the year, where a high-stakes battle is expected. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA)- consisting of the Janata Dal (United) led by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and the Bharatiya Janata Party — will face off against the Mahagathbandhan, which includes the Congress, RJD and Left parties.

EC snubs Tejashwi Yadav, says special intensive revision of voters' list on right track
PATNA: The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday said all activities related to special intensive revision (SIR) of the voters' list were progressing as per schedule. The EC's contention came a day after RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav asked whether it was possible to develop the voters' list for 8 crore people within 25 days. An EC statement said SIR has already started successfully in Bihar for verifying the eligibility of each elector with full participation of all political parties. 'Out of the existing 7,89,69,844 electors, 4.96 crore electors, whose names are already in the last intensive revision of electoral roll on January 1, 2003, have to simply verify so, fill the Enumeration Form and submit it,' the EC said. All divisional commissioners and district magistrates are engaging all the BLOs full time during the SIR. SMSs are also being sent to the 5,74,07,022 registered mobile numbers of Bihar. 'All recognised national and state political parties who are registered with EC have also appointed 1,54,977 booth level agents (BLAs),' it said. Printing and door-to-door distribution of new enumeration forms (EF) for all existing 7,89,69,844 electors have started in each of the 243 assembly constituencies. Online filling of the new EFs has been enabled, the EC said. Meanwhile, NDA slammed Tejashwi for his objection to the special intensive review of the voters' list before Bihar assembly elections and his allegation that it was intended at erasing the names of poor and marginalised voters from the electoral rolls. Union minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi said bogus voters numbered between 25,000 and 30,000 in various constituencies. 'So, why should not names of such bogus voters be erased from the electoral roll? Why the opposition should be scared if they have not done anything wrong?' he asked. Bihar assembly elections are due in October-November.

People desperate to oust Nitish Kumar govt: Prashant
Patna, June 28 (UNI) Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor today said people of Bihar are desperate to oust Nitish Kumar government from power in next state assembly elections slated for October-November this year. Addressing a rally during his "Badlao Yatra" in Nalanda, the home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he said that people were fed up with the present dispensation in the state due to rising unemployment, poor law and order. In the name of giving jobs to youths, Kumar was distributing appointment letters among them when election was round the corner, he claimed and said that by his action in last few months of his tenure, Chief Minister Kumar was trying to create an impression of " all is well ". "In last 35 years, Bihar remained at bottom of all development parameters due to failures of Lalu and Nitish regime in the state," Jan Suraaj leader recalled and said that it was time for people to exercise their franchise to oust Nitish Kumar government from power in next state assembly elections due to be held in October-November this year. Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public appeal during his frequent visits to Bihar in election year, people should not vote for Chief Minister Kumar, he suggested. Kishor said that huge support from people of Bihar in Lok Sabha elections since 2014, enabled Modi to become PM in last 11 years. Despite getting such a vital support from Bihar, Modi was setting up industries in Gujarat, he alleged. The Jan Suraaj leader said that youths of Bihar had no option but to migrate to other states in search of their livelihood and they were doing petty jobs there, even as labourers. Had people of Bihar extended their support to Modi for creating a situation for their children to work as labourers in other states, he asked. Kishor also came down heavily on RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for distributing pens among youths. There was jungle raj during RJD regime and criminals were striking at their will during that period, he recalled and added that RJD was trying to refurbish its image but the party would not succeed.
