The Oak Ridge Boys will bring its blend of gospel, country and rock featured in songs such as "Elvira" and "Bobbie Sue" on Friday to Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa. Even though The Oak Ridge Boys is on the American Made: Farewell Tour, the band has shows scheduled through the end of 2025, and vocalist William Lee Golden told The Desert Sun during a recent interview, "I can't see myself retiring, I'm an old guy and I don't think about it until I look in the mirror. And for this reason, I try to stay away from mirrors."
Expect a performance filled with showmanship and nostalgia, wrapped in four-part harmonies featuring the band's newest member, 29-year-old North Carolina native and tenor vocalist Ben James.
If you go: 8 p.m. Saturday, Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. Tickets $29.50 to $84.50. aguacalientecasinos.com/agua-event

Punk: Los Angeles band Fishbone is renowned for blending punk, ska, funk, soul and more into one of the wildest and most unpredictable albums and live performances since its founding in 1979, inspiring bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Jane's Addiction and more, but without reaching the same level of fame.
Hear the band live when Fishbone performs on Saturday at Pappy and Harriet's.

The band's 1995 song "La Chona" became a viral internet meme in 2018 when fans started issuing the "La Chona Challenge," which originally started as people dancing to the song outside of moving vehicles. It later caught on to children, adults, senior citizens and even animals such as cats and dogs dancing to the song.
If you go: 8 p.m. Saturday, Acrisure Arena, 75-702 Varner Road, Palm Desert. Tickets start at $53.40. ticketmaster.com

New Wrestler Takes On El Grande Americano Persona On WWE RAW

With Chad Gable likely out of action for some time, a new mysterious man took up the mantle of El Grande Americano on WWE RAW. During Monday's episode of RAW, the rest of American Made was interviewed about how they'd proceed without Gable. As they spoke, though, El Grande Americano appeared. Significantly taller than normal, the group was shocked as he stared them down, nodded, then walked off. While it was unknown who the mystery man covering as El Grande Americano was, it did look a lot like Ludwig Kaiser. More will likely be revealed in the coming weeks, though, as Gable is set to be out for some time. The shocking appearance came just a few minutes after Gable revealed he was undergoing shoulder surgery. On WWE RAW last week, Gable was backstage with Ivy Nile when Penta approached. Gable concluded their 'lesson' and went to mock Penta, who just had a match with Bron Breakker. Gable teased finishing the job Breakker started, but Penta took exception to Gable repeatedly poking him in the chest. Penta superkicked Gable and screamed, 'I told you, Cero Miedo' before snapping Gable's left arm back. READ MORE: What do you think? Who do you think is behind the El Grande Americano mask? Will they be revealed before Gable is back? Let us know what you think about it in the comment section below. Lizzo taps into Lizzo Wayne on ‘MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING' rap mixtape

Key takeaways: Trending Clipse unveil full 'Let God Sort Em Out' track list with Kendrick, Nas, Tyler, The Creator and more Rihanna says baby No. 3 will have an 'R' name like big brothers RZA and Riot 10 viral Denzel Washington moments that had everyone talking Lizzo introduces her rap alter ego, Lizzo Wayne, on the mixtape MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING. Created in just four days, the project is an unedited journey into her mind before releasing the forthcoming album Love in Real Life. Lizzo is introducing the world to her rap persona on MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING. The 34-minute mixtape dropped on Friday (June 27) and reminds music fanatics that the Detroit native is a creative who cannot be confined by genre or outside expectations. The project features guest appearances from Doja Cat, SZA, and a host of Lizzo's lyrical personalities. There is the one who just wants to make some new mistakes, the ratchet version who's twerking in Yitty, and the 'CRASHOUT,' just to name a few. Globally, the classically trained flutist is known for being the pop star behind hits like 'Good As Hell' and 'Truth Hurts,' so for some fans, hearing her declare, 'It's a Lizzo summer, b**ch,' may be the first that they are learning about this side of her—but it has always been there. According to Lizzo, one of her biggest records, 'About D**n Time,' started as a freestyle before its final iteration landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2022. 'I think that's how I start with everything. It's like a freestyle, and it's typically kind of rappity, and then I add melodies. Then, I go in and adjust the lyrics, like, 'Can I say this? Can you say this in pop music?' With this project, I'm like, 'Man. The first thing that comes out [of] my mouth, I'm gonna say it. I'm not gonna edit myself,'' she told Billboard. Before her pop stardom, Lizzo was part of rap groups Cornrow Clique and Chalice. On MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING, she returns to that foundation, flowing over Houston-inspired beats with witty rhymes, and leaning into the magic of some of Hip Hop's most influential artists. 'I remember I kept saying Lil Wayne was the person I wanna be. I wanna be like Mixtape Wayne when I do this, but I always have a little bit of Missy Elliott in me—at all times. She's just a part of me. So I definitely tapped into Missy,' the four-time Grammy Award recipient shared. She even admitted, 'I was calling myself Lizzo Wayne.' Lizzo revealed the uncensored project came together in four days, rivaling the endless months that her past albums required. Next up, though, is Love in Real Life. 'What I learned from this mixtape I'm going to put into Love in Real Life," she explained. Adding, "Really, what I learned from this is trust your vision, trust your instinct. Your first instinct is always right, and double down on whatever it is you like.' Moreover, the "Watch Out For The Big Grrrls" star shared, "I'm going to have to go back in and re-record some stuff. Because there's some songs that I love, but—for instance…'Still Bad' is an amazing, well-constructed pop song. The demo of it, the Animal Style demo, I liked the way that feels. So I have a lot of demo versions of songs that I might switch and swap or even put both on. Who knows? I'm feeling crazy these days.' The mixtape is a reminder that even with pop charts success and viral hits, Lizzo is a multifaceted artist with something to say. Because genre defines category the message or the messenger.
