Fans of the hit Netflix series Virgin River have taken to Reddit to speculate what's in store for Mel and Jack in season seven
As Virgin River gets ready for its highly anticipated seventh season - set to premiere on Netflix early next year - fans are already speculating about what lies ahead for beloved couple Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan.

The hit Netflix drama follows nurse practitioner Mel, played by Alexandra Breckenridge, who moves to the quiet Northern California town of Virgin River after experiencing a tragic personal loss. There, she unexpectedly falls in love with Jack (Martin Henderson), a former Marine and the town's bar owner.

Season six wrapped up with a major milestone for the couple as they finally tied the knot. The finale brought heartfelt celebrations but also delivered a few dramatic twists - most notably involving Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), whose sudden disappearance left fans confused.

Meanwhile, Mel was blindsided by a surprising request from Marley, who asked her to take care of her baby.
The season finale has sparked a flurry of fan theories online, especially on Reddit, where viewers are busy piecing together what Mel and Jack's future might look like. Some believe parenthood is next on the cards for the newlyweds, particularly in light of Charmaine's vanishing and Marley's baby.

One fan kicked off a discussion with their bold prediction: "Jack and Mel: Now that they are married, they're going to end up adopting the surrogate mother's baby, Charmaine's twins, and probably will be godparents to the baby Lizzie and Denny have."
"They'll finally move into their new house with their three new kids," they added.

But not everyone agreed with that vision. Another viewer offered a slightly different take: "Mel & Jack will just adopt the twins, but help find a home for the other baby."
Others raised concerns about the tone of the show shifting too dark, particularly regarding Charmaine's fate.
"I hope Calvin didn't kill Charmaine though; even though we all can't stand her, that would be pretty dark," one fan wrote.

They continued: "I don't think they'll go that route. I also don't want Mel and Jack to adopt the twins, especially because they were the boys Jack was tricked into thinking were his. I think Mel and Jack will just adopt Marley's daughter."
Another fan echoed this statement, offering their own theory: "I don't think Charmaine was killed. It is more likely that she murdered Calvin or maybe Jack saw something completely not connected to the Calvin situation, which would give them material for a new plot."
Still, some fans believe that Mel and Jack's story needs more conflict to stay interesting, stating: "My thought was that Mel and Jack will need more drama to keep them front and centre, so Charmaine would be dead (or seriously injured), they track down Calvin with the boys and adopt the other baby, and when they get the boys back, either they adopt them too (because Charmaine passes) or they get them back to her."
