UAE petrol prices revealed for May 2025: What Dubai motorists will pay
The UAE petrol prices for May 2025 have been announced and will now come into effect.
Drivers in Dubai and the rest of the United Arab Emirates will pay slightly more for petroleum but less for diesel than last month.
UAE fuel prices had increased during February following a price freeze in December and January.
But now from Thursday May 1, the per litre rate will increase for petrol but drop for diesel. You can see a full breakdown below:

UAE petrol prices are announced on the final day of every month by the United Arab Emirates federal government via its petroleum firm Emarat.
In December, the price of petrol and diesel in the UAE reached its lowest point of 2024 and 2025 started things off with the exact same rates.

Expansion boost into Hamilton for female business leaders' initiative
An event taking place in the town's Barncluith Business Centre on Thursday, July 3, from 9.30am to noon. New networking initiative Women Can Grow Community is expanding into Lanarkshire after a successful launch in Glasgow. Offering peer-to-peer support to help female business owners with their strategic growth plans, the programme was set up by business support agency Inspirent and kicked off to great acclaim a number of weeks ago. In the wake of the positive feedback, Inspirent is to break new ground by hosting the first gathering of its type in Hamilton, the event taking place in the town's Barncluith Business Centre on Thursday, July 3, from 9.30am to noon. Inspirent chief executive Liz McCutcheon said: 'Following the successful launch of our Women Can Grow Community, we are delighted to be staging it for the first time in Hamilton. 'We will be bringing another blend of sessions focusing on health, sharpening the mindset, confidence and practical business skills – all important elements for anyone looking to build a business successfully.' Thursday's event will include a session on guided meditation with sound healing by Deborah Cunningham of Flourish with Deborah, while Inspirent's Lorraine Maginnis will deliver a session on addressing the barriers to growth that women have identified and on the back of that will look at building confidence and mindset. Rachel Sharp, also from Inspirent, will lead a Canva-focused practical business skills workshop. Inspirent is a key delivery partner for the Scottish Government and will be administering the £700,000 Ecosystem Fund in the coming months - and earlier this year completed a three-month Holyrood-funded practical support programme, Pathways Women Can Grow, for women business owners. Ford issue recall for 200,000 vehicles which could 'trap' passengers inside
The motoring giant has confirmed safety issues have been reported A major motor company has issued an urgent recall for almost 200,000 vehicles after discovering a fault that could cause passengers to become trapped inside them. Ford Motor Company say it will notify those affected this week. The car manufacturer has notified the USA's National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) of a problem with some models of the Mustang Mach-E models. Ford told The Express that some UK vehicles are affected by the recall. Safety reports suggested the issue was a software problem involving the latches on rear passenger doors The NHTSA report says: 'Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Mustang Mach E vehicles. 'In the event of a low battery charge, the electronic door latches may remain locked once the driver or front passenger exits and shuts the door, possibly trapping someone who is unable to use the inside door release handles, such as a child in the back seat.' The Mustang Mach-E is one of Ford's flagship electric cars with 197,432 models built between 2021 and 2025 thought to be affected. The recall first came to light after Ford wrote to the NHTSA in Washington last week. The NHTSA notice warns the consequence is an 'inability to enter or exit the vehicle in an emergency' which increases the risk of injury. Ford said that they will be in touch with affected customers soon. Dealers are expected to carry out repairs completely free of charge with any motorists affected likely to hear the news this week. It is thought it will be the end of September before the manufacturer can implement a fix. The NHTSA form reads: 'Dealers will update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module C (SOBDMC) software, free of charge. 'Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk will be mailed June 23, 2025. Second letters will be mailed once the remedy is available, anticipated for September 29, 2025.' Consumer Reports admits owners may notice the SYNC infotainment screen displaying a 'system off to save power' warning or a blank screen when the power is in the 'off' position. Experts said that this could signal an imminent issue to owners. Another major warning flag is if occupants begin to notice that the inside release handle needs to be pulled further back than usual to open the door. Earlier this month, Ford issued one of its largest recalls affecting more than 1 million vehicles. It was due to safety concerns amid problems with the rear camera system. This defect mainly affects the SYNC 4 system and has been considered a real threat to road safety, increasing the risk of a crash. The issue pertains to the cameras freezing, lagging, or not turning on when the vehicle starts reversing. The recall impacts all models with the SYNC 4 system that were manufactured between 2021 and 2025, according to Reuters.
