Bankrolled by T-Series Films, the Anurag Basu movie clocked over Rs 25.45 crore in its first week, followed by Rs 16.25 crore in its second week. The movie entered its third week by netting over Rs 1 crore on Friday. It further showed some legs and collected Rs 1.70 crore on Saturday, followed by Rs 2 crore on Sunday.
The total cume of Metro…In Dino reached Rs 46.40 crore net at the Indian box office by the end of its third weekend. It is now approaching its end around Rs 50 crore net mark in India, emerging a successful venture.
Starring an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona, Anupam Kher, Neenah Gupta, the romantic drama got a major dent by the arrival of Mohit Suri's Saiyaara this weekend.

Midnight shows are being added to meet the overwhelming demand." Predicting over ₹ 75 crore weekend collection, he added, 'Saiyaara is set to become the second #Blockbuster of 2025, after #Chhaava.' Mohit Suri directorial film saw jam-packed theatres as footfall surged over the weekend and an overall 71.18% Hindi occupancy was registered on Sunday. An excerpt from trade analyst Sumit Kadel's box office prediction states that Saiyaara is expected to do a business of ₹ 200 crore net and may touch ₹ 300 crore mark, which is significant for a movie 'Devoid of Star Power, Franchise Backing & Safe Genre, yet defied all projections with sheer content and word of mouth.' In another post he noted, 'Monday Advance for #Saiyaara is OUTSTANDING.. ₹ 15-20 Cr Monday on cards !!' Earlier, filmmaker Mahesh had predicted that the film will propel the lead stars into unprecedented stardom. He had said, 'Every generation has love story that defines it. Saiyaara, to me, will be the most definitive romantic film of this generation. When I made Aashiqui, I did it with a lot of purity and I was fortunate that people connected to it deeply and made the two newcomers into overnight stars. I expect Mohit Suri to do the same with Saiyaara." Speaking of the film, veteran film trade expert Taran Adarsh told News18 Showsha exclusively that Saiyaara's success has got to do with the fact that it more than compensated for the dearth of a true-blue Bollywood romance. 'It's an intense love story and we've forgotten how to make them in recent times. Saiyaara's music is also grabbing attention. We've been making romantic films and rom-coms but an intense love story with good music was lacking. An emphasis on music for a Hindi film is very important and it has been proved time and again," he said. With minimal competition through the rest of the month, Saiyaara looks set for a sustained run at the box office—proving that even smaller releases can dominate when the story resonates.

Chennai's Mixtura Vizha brings art to you
Unlike most art festivals or street performances, Mixtura Vizha doesn't offer a tightly packed agenda. It throws open various global art forms, placing them squarely in public spaces for people to experience them with an open mind. Curated by Shreya Nagarajan Singh under her banner SNS Arts Development Consultancy, along with KM Music Conservatory, in partnership with the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) and Uptown Kathipara Urban Square. 'This year, we chose three prime locations — Central metro station, Thiru Vi Ka Park, and Urban Square at Kathipara. The idea is to bring the arts into public spaces, and take it outside the traditional space of a sabha or an auditorium,' said Shreya. 'We want to make the arts accessible for everyone — be it someone taking the metro home or someone walking through a park.' With a total of eight performances ranging from classical music and dance to drama and koothu to techno and jazz, the city's spaces transformed into a platform for artistes. What makes Mixtura Vizha unique is its inclusion of art forms that general audience rarely witnesses live. At Central metro, the performances kicked off with KS Thejal's voice shifting between soft French compositions and soulful Indian classicals. The blend of beats — of modern and traditional instruments — attracted the passersby. People leaned on barricades, stood in clusters with their backpacks and luggage, some filming and others simply pausing to listen. It was during the setup for the next act that I spotted Adam Greig, artistic director of KM Music Conservatory. Reflecting on his collaboration and performance, Adam shared, 'I'm one of the co-founders and co-inspirators of Mixtura Vizha. Shreya and I were discussing back in 2021 about this idea of doing a festival in Chennai and Shreya came up with this concept of incorporating all the different types of art forms.' As he gearing for his first piano solo at the festival, he gestured toward the crowd and said, 'It's quite an exciting concept because the audience never know what they're going to get. They know who's playing, they know where it is happening, but they wouldn't know who's playing in which of the listed locations. It's fun for them too,' he exclaimed. Charumathi Chandrasekar also took the stage by storm with expressive Bharatanatyam movements.
