President Sulyok meets with head of International Olympic Committee
President Sulyok's visit to Lausanne marked the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, the sixth such organisation in the world, the statement said.
President Sulyok congratulated Bach, the outgoing IOB president, on his achievements during his 12-year tenure. They also discussed the relations between the international and the Hungarian Olympic movement.
President Sulyok was accompanied by Zsolt Gyulay, the president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, and two Olympic medalists, pentathlon athlete Michelle Gulyas and swimmer Agnes Kovacs.
Incoming IOB-President Kirsty Coventry and Balazs Furjes, the permanent Hungarian member of IOB, also attended the talks, the statement said.
Later, President Sulyok met representatives of Hungarian communities in Switzerland in Bern. Marking the Day of National Cohesion, President Sulyok said Hungarian national cohesion meant 'always being faithful to the homeland and the nation. To never forget other Hungarians, to see them as partners, to accept community with them despite differences in opinion, and to always help and count on each other.'

He also said the project had prompted Formula 1 leadership to 'naturally consider' keeping the Hungarian Grand Prix on the calendar beyond 2032. 'We didn't carry out these world-class developments just to stop in 2032,' he noted. Szijjártó emphasized that the 10-month project delivered GDP impacts of HUF 25–30 billion in a single race weekend and brought significant international exposure. 'This proves that even seemingly impossible projects can be realized swiftly with political will and expertise,' he said. 'Hungary benefits greatly from Formula 1.'

Defence Minister: Government committed to maintaining and developing Hungarian Grand Prix
Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Minister of Defence, reaffirmed the Hungarian government's commitment to maintaining and expanding the Hungarian Grand Prix during a statement at the Hungaroring on Sunday, coinciding with the 40th anniversary race weekend in Mogyoród. The minister noted that he had met with Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, who praised the speed and quality of recent renovations at the venue. 'He was almost lost for words when discussing the renewed infrastructure,' Szalay-Bobrovniczky said, highlighting the strategic value of the event for both parties. He confirmed that Hungary's promoter agreement had already been renewed for five years, with provisions for further extension. 'The Hungarian government is dedicated to keeping this event here, and to its continuous development and strengthening,' he said, noting full alignment with Formula 1 leadership on this objective. Szalay-Bobrovniczky described the recent renovation as a 'major leap forward' in the Hungaroring's history. He emphasized the event's significance as a national showcase, citing its ability to attract 300,000 attendees over a weekend and hundreds of millions of viewers globally. Hungarian athletes win 9 medals at European Para Youth Games
Para swimmer Csenge Hotz won gold in the 100m butterfly and silver in the 400m freestyle. Hungarian athletes have won nine medals, two of them gold, at the European Para Youth Games (EPYG) held in Istanbul. At the games held between July 21 and 28, 13 Hungarian athletes competed in 5 disciplines. The EPYG drew 650 athletes from 33 countries. Para swimmer Csenge Hotz won gold in the 100m butterfly and silver in the 400m freestyle. Milan Kreisz won gold in table tennis in the MS11 category, the statement said. The bronze winners were swimmer Virag Csenge Janza in 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle, as well as archer Andor Kollar, judo fighter Bendeguz Foldesi, boccia player Gergo Gigacz, and table tennis player Lazar Nyiri-Szabo, who won bronze in doubles with the Spanish Gabriel Diez Alvarez.
