
TGSRTC MD affirms commitment to solve workers' problems
Mr. Sajjanar was speaking at a meeting of the TGSRTC's Employee Welfare Board meeting on Tuesday where he affirmed his commitment to resolve issues of its 42,000 employees. The meeting comes amid strained relations between the TGSRTC's management and unions.
Speaking to workers, he said the TGSRTC management, with State government support, would solve workers' issues in a phased manner. Touching upon recruitments, he said that the kin of as many as 2,350 workers who had passed away were given employment in the corporation.
Touching upon criticism over staff being strained on account of the implementation of the Mahalakshmi Scheme, he said the management is cognisant of the workload issue for which drivers and conductors will be recruited on a temporary basis. He also accused the TGSRTC management's critics of spreading false propaganda.

Mancherial: Ministerfor Labour & Employment Gaddam Vivekanand distributed 423 sanction papers to beneficiaries of the Indiramma Housing scheme in Kotapalli mandal on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasised that the government is committed to delivering effective public administration. The Indiramma Housing Scheme aims to provide homes to all eligible poor individuals. Those who own land and meet the eligibility criteria are being granted financial assistance under this scheme. Across the state, 450,000 houses are being sanctioned, with 3,500 houses allocated per constituency. In Chennur constituency alone, 12,000 applications have been received, and efforts are underway to ensure all eligible applicants receive his camp office in Chennu, he distributed land documents to 44 more beneficiaries. He reassured the public that all eligible individuals would receive homes and advised beneficiaries to construct houses only within the 600 sq. ft. limit as per government norms. He encouraged them to utilize the free sand provided and complete construction quickly. Funds will be deposited in phases—mark-out, basement, lintel, and slab stages. Measures are also being taken to ensure drinking water availability in Chennur constituency, including the installation of borewells in drought-prone areas, he added. Under the Mahalakshmi Scheme, free bus travel has been provided to women, with five buses sanctioned for the Kotapalli region. Women can now travel free of cost to any part of the State. As part of educational development, an integrated school has been established in Somanapalli of Chennur constituency, with teacher appointments made to ensure quality education with full roads and drainage canals have been constructed in every village of the constituency. Development works worth Rs 500 crore are underway in Chennur constituency. The Minister also inaugurated a solar RO water plant at the Primary Health Centre in Kotapalli, funded with Rs 5 lakh from SCCL's CSR funds. He participated in the Vanamahotsavam 2025 programme and planted saplings. The Minister urged officials to work in coordination to achieve the district's assigned targets. To address drinking water needs, the government is implementing pipeline installations, overhead tanks, and maintenance initiatives. The Minister also flagged off four newly sanctioned RTC buses for the Chennur region and encouraged women and locals to make full use of the facilities.

Deputy CM distributes Rs 1.05 crore to women's groups in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka, on Saturday distributed cheques worth Rs 1.05 crore to 151 mandal-level women's groups that operate rental buses under the TGSRTC at a programme held at Praja Bhavan. As part of the 'Indira Mahila Shakti' celebrations, the ministers also launched a book featuring poems and writings by women authors celebrating the Mahalakshmi scheme. Speaking on the occasion, the deputy CM emphasised that the government is supporting women's groups with the vision that they should earn profits, stabilise their families financially, and progress significantly. He highlighted that the Congress government, upon assuming power, reinstated interest-free loans and decided to organise large-scale public distribution of interest-free loan cheques from July 10 to 16, across all Assembly constituencies in the state. 'We aim to turn one crore women into millionaires. In line with this goal, in the first year alone, Rs 21,000 crore interest-free loans were disbursed to women's groups, and every year, not less than Rs 20,000 crore will be extended as interest-free loans,' he said. He further informed that with the intention of turning women into entrepreneurs, the Energy department has signed agreements with women's groups to produce solar power. 'Agreements have been made to generate not less than 1,000 MW of electricity through these groups,' Vikramarka said. During the event, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Mahalakshmi scheme has not only empowered women but has also revived TGSRTC. 'Soon, we will reach the milestone of 200 crore women passengers availing free travel, amounting to a government subsidy of Rs 6,500 crore,' he said. He also announced that new electric vehicles (EVs) will soon be introduced in Hyderabad.

Telangana govt commits to women's financial empowerment: Bhatti Vikramarka
In a recent event at Praja Bhavan, Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced the government's commitment to enhancing women's financial security. During the Indira Mahila Shakti Sambarala programme, he emphasised that the government will support women's groups wherever possible and encouraged them to excel as entrepreneurs. At the event, cheques totalling ₹1.49 crores were distributed to women's groups that have provided buses on rent to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC). Vikramarka expressed his ambition of making one crore women millionaires, with a goal of disbursing ₹1 lakh crore in loans over the next five years. "From the 8th of this month, discussions on government programmes should take place in all mandals, focusing on the benefits provided to women. Women's federation meetings are to be organised in villages and mandals, and assembly constituency meetings will occur from the 10th to the 16th," he stated. Vikramarka reassured that interest-free loan cash will be distributed in cheque form to support these initiatives, allowing the public to better understand the financial aid offered by the government. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also announced plans to provide 5,000 electric autos to women, aiming to combat pollution in Hyderabad. The government's initiatives reflect its ongoing efforts to empower women and improve their socio-economic status in the region.
