Sex Pistols star John Lydon says 'the pain will never go away' after family death
Sex Pistols legend John Lydon has opened up about the enduring pain following the loss of his wife Nora, confessing "the pain will never go away".
The punk rock pioneer, who shot to fame in the 70s as the Sex Pistols' provocative lead singer. He met Nora, a German publishing heiress, shortly after the band's initial split.
Despite their age difference, with Nora being fourteen years older, the pair formed an inseparable bond. In her final years, as she faced Alzheimer's disease, John devoted himself to caring for her full-time.
Nora died, aged 80 in 2023. While caring for his wife, John was in a legal battle with the remaining members of the Sex Pistols - guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook - after he attempted to veto the use of the band's songs in a Disney+ series.
After losing the legal fight, John cut ties with his former bandmates. Steve and Paul however continued to perform with original bassist Glen Matlock and Gallows' Frank Carter stepping in for John, reports the Mirror US.

John has slammed the legal wrangle as "just disrespectful all round" and admits it's something he "won't forget". Despite his history of stirring controversy as Johnny Rotten, the passing of Nora saw fans rally around him with support.
Speaking to The Telegraph, he says he has "done my moping" and is now "very much raring to go". He knows he needs to get out of the house and is currently on tour with his band PiL - Public Image Ltd.
He is working on a new book and album and has rediscovered his passion for painting. But he still occasionally finds himself stopping to think about his much-loved wife.
"The pain will never go away," he told the Telegraph. "She died painfully, suffocating. They call it the death rattle."

He vividly remembers the heart-wrenching moment when doctors questioned whether they should cease life-prolonging efforts. He reflects: "I couldn't say 'yes, stop.' No. I fought for her life as hard as she fought for it. And now I'm on the other side."
Despite experiencing a phase of anger, he believes this prevented him from becoming a "sympathetic doddering old idiot". The God Save the Queen singer confesses to having "no regrets" about how he's lived.
Nora's passing has altered John's perspective on his own mortality at 69, stating that the thought of death "no longer terrifies" him. He does though say he "misses her like mad" and reveals he sleeps with Nora's ashes by his side.
In recent times, John has surprisingly found favour with conservative media circles, puzzling many long-time Sex Pistols fans. He clarifies that his stance isn't black and white, expressing disdain for all politicians.
Although he's shown support for former US President Donald Trump, he's critical of him too, labelling Trump as a "wrecking ball" and dubbing him "the Orange Bad Man".

Disney World begins demolition of beloved landmark
Disney World fans were left in 'tears' after shocking new photos revealed that the demolition of a beloved landmark has begun. The theme park is in the midst of transforming the Muppets Courtyard at Hollywood Studios into a brand new Monsters Inc.-themed land. Both the Muppet*Vision 3D ride and the Muppets-themed restaurant PizzeRizzo closed permanently on June 7 to make way for the brand new area, which will feature a suspended rollercoaster. Now, new images have been shared by popular theme park news outlet Blog Mickey that show a massive construction update. Disney has officially started knocking down the buildings in the area, and the snaps show the Studio 1 Company Store in Muppets Courtyard completely destroyed. The building that was once a booming gift shop selling all-things Muppets is now piles of soot and plaster as the entire store has been knocked down, with just a portion of one of the walls still standing. When Disney first announced its plans to get rid of the Muppets Courtyard it divided fans - some people were excited for the new stuff coming to Hollywood Studios, while others were heartbroken. And now, the new photos have sparked a slew of negative comments from devastated Muppets' fans. 'I cried when I saw that a few hours ago,' one user replied after the images were shared on X (formerly Twitter). 'Praying they kept some of the Muppets props but it doesn't look hopeful.' 'These pictures truly feel like an open casket or some [expletive] to me they're PAINFUL to look at,' someone else quipped. 'I thought the image they used to snapshot the source was AI generated. What the [expletive] do you mean this is the current state of MuppetVision 3D??!?!?!?' another horrified fan added. 'This hurts my heart to see… I used to work at this store and have so many wonderful memories,' read a fourth comment. A fifth said, 'Man this [expletive] is brutal to watch.' Others called it 'vile' and joked that there should have been a 'content warning' on the photos due to how upsetting they are. Some simply replied by sharing crying emojis or GIFs of people bawling. The new Monsters Inc. attraction will put riders 'right in the middle of the monster action.' The area will also have a new show featuring fan-favorite characters Mike and Sully, a 'Monsters playground,' multiple eateries - including a Japanese restaurant based on Harry Hausen's from the film - as well as two stores.

Disney 'pays $5,750,000 to star actress over Weinstein sexual assault claims'
Actress Julia Ormond has been paid $5.75 million (£4.32million) by the Walt Disney Co after alleging she was assaulted by Harvey Weinstein. The company, which owned Weinstein's company Miramax, paid the Legends of the Fall actor, 60, in an out-of-court settlement per court documents. She sued Disney and Miramax as well as her former agents at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), accusing Disney of 'negligent supervision and retention' of Weinstein. Ormond has also accused CAA of failing to protect her from abuse, with them denying the claims. In the suit, according to the Daily Mail, she claims that she met Weinstein in New York in 1995 for dinner and to discuss plans to make a film about Beryl Markham, which never came to be made. Ormond alleges that after the meeting, set up by CAA, Weinstein insisted on continuing the discussions at her apartment in Manhattan. She claims that she was so 'inebriated' at the apartment that she could not put her keys in the door, and that Weinstein 'stripped her naked' and climbed on top of her. The court documents continue to say that Weinstein forced her to give him a massage, masturbated, and forced Ormond to 'perform oral sex on him.' In the previous year, Ormond claims that Weinstein offered to be a 'sperm donor' for her and described his behaviour as 'relentless sexual harassment.' Ormond said the assault was 'catastrophic both personally and professionally' due to Weinstein's influence in the world of film. The court documents contain excerpts from a memoir that Ormond began writing in 2017, in which she says: 'I vaguely remember in London before ever getting to New York, him emerging in a dressing gown… I think he barked at staff who had then left… I think I fairly flatly turned down or laughed off an invite to watch him shower.' After the alleged assault, she wrote that she felt she had 'done something really stupid with Harvey' and that she complained to her agents at CAA. Disney and its subsidiary Miramax settled with Ormond on March 31, paying her $5.75m, but said the payment is not an admission of wrongdoing. Ormond's legal battle with CAA continues, with boss Bryan Lourd denying her accusations and knowing that Weinstein had ever sexually assaulted anybody. CAA has said the suit is 'baseless' and that an internal review found nothing to support Ormond's claims. It comes after a judge declared a mistrial on the third-degree rape count in Harvey Weinstein's ongoing sexual assault trial, after drama with the jury. The disgraced film mogul was initially convicted of a criminal sexual act in the first degree and rape in the third degree in February 2020. However, his 23-year sentence was overturned last year, sparking a three-week retrial in New York. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video After a second round of hearings, the 73-year-old was convicted of sexually assaulting Miriam Haley in June and acquitted of a second charge stemming from sexual assault accusations made by Kaja Sokola. The jury struggled to reach a unanimous verdict on a third count involving Jessica Mann and, after further deliberations failed, Judge Curtis Farber declared a mistrial. More Trending Prosecutors are now said to be planning to retry Weinstein on the rape charge, stemming from Mann's accusations. Weinstein has been at the centre of rape or sexual misconduct allegations from more than 100 people, with some claims dating back to the 1970s. The allegations sparked the Me Too movement, which highlighted sexual violence in the film industry, as well as worldwide.
