A SAVVY maths professor has shared the easy way to get your car cool in seconds for the school run.
Hannah Fry, from the UK, took to social media to give us all a lesson in fluid dynamics.

Cars can become super hot in the summer, and it often takes a while for the AC to kick in and cool it down.
But Hannah shared the simple trick to get it cool in seconds.
She said: "You know that thing when you get into your car in the summer and it's absolutely boiling hot?
"There's actually a flow dynamics trick that you can use to quickly cool your car down. That's what my PhD's in, flow dynamics."
Instead of putting the air conditioning on, she rolled down the window behind the driver's seat and stepped out of the car.
Then, using the passenger side door, she would stand and open and shut it quickly for a few seconds.
Hannah did this a few times before getting back in the car as she was getting embarrassed.
"The reason why it works is that when you open and close the door, especially if you do it quickly, the door, as it's moving outwards, it sweeps out all of the air that's in its way, creating this sort of area of low pressure that you get here," she explained.
"Then that sets up something called bulk flow, which is where all of the hot, sweaty, horrible air inside the car is drawn outwards. And the only way to refill it is with nice, fresh, easy air from over that side.
"It takes about two or three goes and suddenly it's absolutely beautifully temperate."

The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @fryrsquared with over 1.9 million views and 150k likes.
The clever hack comes just in time for summer and people were grateful for the advice.
One person wrote: "Never be embarrassed about fluid dynamics, babe."
Another commented: "you lowkey deserve to be nominated for the Nobel Prize."
How to keep cool in hot weather
Most of us welcome hot weather, but when it's too hot, there are health risks. Here are three ways to keep cool according to the NHS...
Keep out of the heat if you can.
If you have to go outside, stay in the shade especially between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothes, and avoid exercise or activity that makes you hotter.
Cool yourself down.
Have cold food and drinks, avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, and have a cool shower or put cool water on your skin or clothes.
Keep your living space cool.
Close windows during the day and open them at night when the temperature outside has gone down. Electric fans can help if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Check the temperature of rooms, especially where people at higher risk live and sleep.

The design features a range of cutting edge motor and battery technology for the all-electric car to replace the current Mercedes-AMG GT Four Door. It is expected to be the most aerodynamic, as a main focus, and one of the fastest cars Mercedes has ever made - even more than their Forumla-1 inspired AMG One. There will be due to the 1,360hp from three new electric motors fitted into the vehicle, giving it a combined power output of one megawatt. This means the new AMG XX will be able to reach a top speed of 224mph, which is 5mph faster than the AMG One. Whilst a zero to 60mph has not been revealed for the car, it is likely to have the fastest accelerating power of any car from the brand. It will therefore be more powerful, and lighter than a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, and may even break the 2.0-second barrier. Other exciting features include speakers in the headlights, carbon fibre bucket seat customised to passengers body shapes using 3D printed foam panels, and chequered flag ambient lighting on the interior. The speakers will be able to make different noises at low or fast speeds, and warn pedestrians of the cars presence. There is no rear window on the car, but there is a panel between the taillights which enables owners to customise their own message on the back. It is uncertain when the new Mercedes-AMG XX Concept will go on sale, but it has surely inspired production for a car to go on the market in the near future.

Alannah was driving on the M3 from Bournemouth to her parents' home in Addlestone, Surrey, on Tuesday, June 24. The 22 year-old, a graphic design student at Arts University Bournemouth, had no time to react as the huge metallic pole smashed into her windscreen - leaving her inches from death. She told The Sun: "It looks like a step from the side of a car. It hit me when I was going about 70 miles per hour. "I tried to swerve a bit but I was in the fast lane and there were cars to my side, so I couldn't move lanes. Alannah initially pulled over to the hard shoulder to ring her dad, but was terrified that her tiny Fiat 500 would be flattened by a passing lorry. She said: "I called my dad, and he knew that I was terrified of being on the side of the motorway. When a lorry goes past, it really shakes, it was petrifying." After less than a minute she pulled back on to the motorway with the intention of reaching the next service station. "It's so annoying that I don't remember his name, but I'm so grateful for him because he helped calm me down, he helped get everything sorted. He was the one who called everyone to help me. "He stayed with me until the emergency services arrived before leaving." Fire services and police attended the scene while Alannah spoke to an ambulance team over the phone, but miraculously she sustained no physical injuries. Firemen told Alannah that a 'guardian angel' must have been watching over her because the metal object split when it hit the windscreen, stopping it from passing all the way through and potentially killing her. "It could have ended up being really, really serious, I'm incredibly lucky that I kept control of the car after it hit and carried on driving until I could pull over. "The firemen, my friends and family all said that it was a guardian angel watching over me, which was lovely to hear." And shockingly, despite the huge gaping hole in the windscreen, Alannah's car - her first ever vehicle, that she acquired in January 2020 - sustained no damage to the bodywork whatsoever. She said: "The policeman laughed, actually, when I had finally calmed down, because he said, 'I can't believe there is not one single scratch on your car'." Police removed the metal chunk and put duct tape over the hole, then closed off part of a lane of the motorway in order to escort Alannah to the next services. They conducted a short investigation at the scene but determined that the incident was entirely accidental, Alannah said. The emergency services also commended the young student's driving and said without keeping a cool head and remaining in control of her car, things could have been much worse. Alannah's friends joked that her ordeal was like the famous scene from the action film Final Destination 2 in which logs fall off the back of a truck. She said: "A lot of people keep saying it reminds them of that scene. That's been kind of the laughing joke today about it." She added: "I just feel very lucky with how it turned out. I feel very unlucky it happened, but very lucky I survived. "Luckily, it's only the windshield which is damaged, but it could have gone so seriously wrong. "All my friends that I've told, they were like, you honestly could have died, you could have been seriously injured. "I've walked out of it intact though, I haven't even got a scratch on me. "My parents were very grateful that I was okay. My mum said it was my granddad who was watching over me, and looking after me." Alannah is soon heading back to university but shared her advice for other drivers in similar situations. She said: "I know it sounds stupid, but try and keep control of the car, and just try not to suddenly slam your brakes on. "Just try and stay in contact and get yourself somewhere safe."
