'Harry Potter' Actor, 62, Makes Rare Comment About Daniel Radcliffe
Harry Potter star Jason Isaacs is opening up about his former castmate, Daniel Radcliffe, who famously played the titular character in the film franchise.
During the June 9 episode of Modern Family star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson's podcast,Dinner's On Me, Isaacs, who played the nefarious Lucius Malfoy, complimented Radcliffe for his intelligence and his humbleness.
"I always knew he was smart. I thought he would, and I still think he'll end up being a director as well as an actor. But I loved what [is that] he was so grounded and so mature, always and humble. And he's continued to be ambitious. Really ambitious. And take risks as well. He's like, 'I've been famous. I'm rich. I've done those things. So now I do interesting, independent films,'" said Isaacs during the podcast interview.
The White Lotus actor also shared he and Radcliffe improvised a moment together toward the end of the 2002 film, Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets.
"My very first day I was improvising lines and my very first shot was walking out of Dumbledore's office from the end of Chamber of Secrets and where he just dismissed me," said Isaacs while recording the podcast episode. "And I leave and I went, 'I don't know if this, would this guy leave without saying something. Harry Potter's there. He's a very proud, arrogant man. Surely he'd say something, try get status back in.' We'll try something. And I made up a line. And Danny made up a line back and I thought, we're allowed to make s--t up in Harry Potter. Wow."
Isaacs reacted to the recent news that actor and musician Johnny Flynn has been chosen to play Lucius for the upcoming HBO Harry Potter television series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 62-year-old shared he was pleased that Flynn was going to play Lucius on his X account.
'A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too. Couldn't have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better. Just please don't make him sing…' wrote Isaacs in the June 9 X post.

‘NYT Mini' Clues And Answers For Monday, July 21
Mini Crossword Looking for the answers to Sunday's NYT Mini? Check them out here: The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper's larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays. Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you'll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives. The NYT Mini is a fun daily distraction that usually takes no time at all. I try to beat the standard weekday grid in less than a minute. But sometimes I can't quite figure out one or two clues and need to reveal the answer. To help you avoid doing that, here are the NYT Mini Crossword answers (spoilers lie ahead, of course): FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers ACROSS 1) Ceremonial band - SASH 5) First official state hand gesture, following a 2024 Hawaiian bill - SHAKA 6) Deck with the Major and Minor Arcana - TAROT 7) Just love - ADORE 8) Boardwalk has the highest one on a Monopoly board - RENT DOWN 1) Cool place to be on a sunny day - SHADE 2) Name that might come first during an alphabetical roll call - AARON 3) Hybrid athletic garment - SKORT 4) Just loathe - HATE 5) One whose name is in lights - STAR NYT Mini Not the hardest puzzle today, though with a fun fun clues like the Tarot deck one, and the play on ceremonial band being a bit tricky to figure out. 2 DCU Movies Get Mixed Updates From James Gunn
James Gunn recently gave some updates about the status of The Authority and Swamp Thing DCU movies. What are the new DCU updates from James Gunn? Speaking to Josh Horowitz during a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Gunn gave a less-than-positive update on the status of The Authority. 'It's been rough for us,' Gunn said. 'I moved…the writer moved on to another project in the DCU that I think he's really killing right now.' Gunn wouldn't reveal what the other project was, but did say it was another movie set in the DCU. The Authority was one of the original projects announced by Gunn when DC Studios was first revealed. However, the project has remained up in the air ever since, with recent reports suggesting that the film has been moved to the 'back burner' of DC's slate. As for Swamp Thing, Gunn actually provided a positive update about that. He was asked whether or not James Mangold — who was tapped to write and direct the project — had delivered a script as of yet. Gunn revealed he hadn't, but that the pair just spoke. 'We talked to James the other day,' said Gunn. 'No, he hasn't delivered a script. He's been distracted with his billions of movies. But we're talking about it again.' Originally reported by Anthony Nash at SuperHeroHype.
