Florida Turnpike crash shuts down lanes near Clermont
A crash is causing traffic delays on the Florida Turnpike near mile marker 227 in Lake County.
It is unclear if anyone was injured or when the lanes will reopen.
CLERMONT, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that is causing traffic delays southbound on the Florida Turnpike in Lake County.
What we know
Troopers said the crash occurred shortly after 2:45 p.m. near mile marker 277 in Clermont.
While all lanes were initially closed, officials have since reopened one lane to allow traffic to pass.
What we don't know
At this time, it is unclear how long the area will remain blocked or whether any injuries have been reported.
The cause of the crash and the number of vehicles involved are also unknown.

Two men killed in crash as Vauxhall Astra hits a wall
A witness appeal has been launched after two men were killed in a crash yesterday. Officers were called to Hill Road, Eccleston, Chester shortly after 1.40am on Sunday, July 20 to reports a black Vauxhall Astra had hit a wall. Emergency service attended the scene, but despite the best efforts of all those involved, the driver, a 25-year-old man from Smallwood, died at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, a 47-year-old man from Rossett, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since died as a result of his men's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers from Cheshire Police. Enquiries into events running up to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is urged to get in Steve Griffiths, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: 'This was an absolutely tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the families of the men involved.'Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and as part of our investigation we're keen to hear for anyone who witnessed the collision. Dog the Bounty Hunter's step-grandson killed in shooting accident over the weekend: Report
The stepson of Duane Chapman — more commonly known as Dog the Bounty Hunter — accidentally shot and killed his own son over the weekend, a family representative told TMZ. TMZ reported that Gregory Zecca accidentally shot his 13-year-old son, Anthony, in a Naples, Fla., apartment on Saturday. Police confirmed to TMZ that they responded to a call regarding a shooting at 8 p.m. local time on Saturday, calling the tragedy an 'isolated incident.' Authorities have not made any arrests, and they're investigating the incident. "We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible, tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,' Chapman and his wife, Francie, said in a statement provided to TMZ. The family has asked for privacy as they mourn Anthony. Chapman rose to fame by starring in the TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter, which ran from 2004 to 2012 and featured his late wife, Beth Chapman. They starred in another TV show, Dog and Beth: On the Hunt, which ran from 2013 to 2015 on CMT. They also appeared on Dog's Most Wanted for one season in 2019. Chapman, 72, and Francie got married in 2021 after their respective spouses had died and the pair bonded over their shared grief. Zecca is Francie's son from her previous marriage and works with Chapman on his bounty hunting team, according to TMZ. Bangladesh air force jet crashes into school, killing at least 19
A Bangladeshi air force jet crashed into a school campus in the capital, Dhaka, on Monday, killing at least 19 people, the government's media office said. More than 100 were injured, 68 critically, fire service spokesman Muhammed Shajahan Sikder wrote on X. Most of the victims were students at the Milestone School and College in the neighborhood of Uttara. According to its website, the school has thousands of students from pre-kindergarden through high school across multiple sites. The country's communications office said in a statement that the FT-7 BGI fighter jet crashed after a 'technical malfunction' shortly after takeoff. The 'mechanical failure' is under investigation, the statement said.
