Jamal Musiala Injury Update- When Will Bayern Munich Star Return?
Jamal Musiala Injury Update- When Will Bayern Munich Star Return? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Bayern Munich fans are already worried ahead of next season as one of their most important players, Jamal Musiala, suffered an ankle injury in the FIFA Club World Cup. After being brought down by Gianluigi Donnarumma in the PSG vs Bayern match, many wondered if the injury was severe. Advertisement By the looks of both PSG and Bayern players around Musiala, many believed the player would be missing the entirety of next season. Bayern Munich confirmed that Musiala suffered a fractured fibula as a result of an ankle dislocation. BILD reported that the injury could leave him out for around four to five months, which is less than what many fans expected. The German club has announced an update on the German star who is set to start his recovery. Bayern Munich on Jamal Musiala's injury Bayern Munich published a brief statement in regards to Jamal Musiala's injury. After announcing that the player suffered a fractured fibula, the club also informed that the player would require surgery. The club announced that Musiala has undergone a successful surgery. Bayern Munich: "Jamal Musiala has undergone successful surgery after returning from the Club World Cup in the USA. In the quarter-final between FC Bayern and Paris St. Germain, the 22-year-old attacking player suffered a fractured fibula as a result of a broken and dislocated ankle and was substituted at half-time. He will begin his first rehabilitation sessions tomorrow, Tuesday, and will be unavailable to the German record champions for the next few months." Advertisement BILD reported that Musiala flew back to Munich separately from the rest of the team. Bayern reportedly ordered a private air ambulance for a quick return. Musiala is expected to return fully fit around December or January 2026. Donnarumma faced backlash over Musiala's injury After the PSG vs Bayern game this past weekend, many criticized Donnarumma for his challenge on Musiala, which caused the injury. Manuel Neuer revealed his frustration with the Italian goalkeeper and explained what he said to him after the game. Manuel Neuer: "It was a situation where you don't have to go in like that. That's risk-taking. He [Donnarumma] was prepared to accept the risk of injuring his opponent. I went to him and said, 'Don't you want to go and see our player?' It's a matter of respect, of going there and wishing the guy all the best. He then did it. Fairplay is always a part of it. I would have reacted differently." Former Bayern Munich player Rafinha revealed on Sport TV the reactions of most Bayern Munich players towards Donnarumma for injuring Musiala. The Brazilian explained how Bayern players demanded an apology from Donnarumma. Rafinha: "They were angry because they wanted Donnarumma to at least apologize, since they saw that the injury was serious. After the game, there were heated conversations in the dressing room. The players went to him [Donnarumma] in the PSG dressing room to ask him to apologize; they exchanged some strong words. They demanded that, like a 'code of ethics', at least to apologize, even though he didn't do it on purpose." 'If they can achieve that' – William Gallas sets out his targets for Chelsea next season
'If they can achieve that' – William Gallas sets out his targets for Chelsea next season William Gallas believes Chelsea won't win the Premier League next season, and thinks they should be looking at making the quarter or semi final of the Champions League. Chelsea are currently at the Club World Cup and face Palmeiras on Friday night with a place in the last four up for grabs. Advertisement The Blues have got a great opportunity to make the final, but there's still plenty of work to be done until that becomes a reality. Gallas speaks on Chelsea targets for next season Depending on how far Chelsea go, the Blues won't have much preparation for the new season, but have already strengthened their squad with the signings of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro. Dario Essugo has arrived, whilst Andrey Santos has returned from loan, and Estevao will join after the Club World Cup, with the squad arguably stronger than the one which finished last season. Maresca guided Chelsea to Conference League glory last season. (Photo by) Advertisement The Blues had a successful campaign under Maresca as the Italian guided Chelsea back to the Champions League, and also won the Conference League. Chelsea will be expected to push on again next season and former Blue Gallas has had his say on what the targets should be. 'They won't win the Premier League,' he said as cited on More Stories / Latest News 'If they can achieve that' – William Gallas sets out his targets for Chelsea next season 4th Jul 2025, 03:30pm Exclusive: Chelsea starlet offered to Galatasaray after talks with former team go nowhere 4th Jul 2025, 03:00pm 'Thought to be valued at' – Journalist reveals Noni Madueke asking price amid Arsenal interest Advertisement 4th Jul 2025, 02:45pm 'They will try to be close, that is sure, but they won't win the Premier League. In the Champions League, they'll be looking at a quarter-final or a semi-final. If they can achieve that, it will be another step. 'It means they are improving. Chelsea is a club that must win trophies. I think next season they may be able to win the FA Cup or the Carabao Cup.' Further signings set to arrive Chelsea may have already added to their squad, but they are still in the market for further reinforcements, with another attacker and a defender a possibility. West Ham's Mohammed Kudus is a player of interest, although it's likely an attacker will need to leave before a move can be made for the Ghana international. Chelsea also need back-up to Marc Cucurella at left back, and have been linked with Ajax star Jorrel Hato, who can also play at centre back.
