Pheobe Bishop, 17, missing from Bundaberg: Family speak out about final phone call
Pheobe Bishop was scheduled to fly from Bundaberg to Western Australia, via Brisbane, on Thursday, May 15, to visit a friend.
However, the teen did not check in or board her Bundaberg flight at 8.30am on Thursday, and there has been no sign of her since. Police have said her last sighting was on Airport Drive - near the airport - but she has not been seen in CCTV footage.
On Wednesday morning, Police said the investigation into her disappearance was now being treated as suspicious.
Two locations have been declared crime scenes: a property in Gin Gin, west of Bundaberg, where Pheobe was living prior to her disappearance, and a silver Hyundai ix35 hatchback with registration 414-EW3 - believed to be the car she travelled to Airport Drive in. Police have seized the car.
Family said Pheobe had saved her money and purchased the flight to visit her boyfriend in Western Australia.
'Where she was going she saved for herself. She loved them like her own family,' a family member said on social media.
'He was her high school sweetheart that moved away.'
Another relative said that Phoebe had spoken to her boyfriend on the phone just before she disappeared.

'She didn't check in for her flight to visit her boyfriend who she spoke to on the phone at 8.30am,' they wrote on social media.
'Her phone has been switched off from this point. She hasn't contacted anyone at all, no one has seen her.'
Pheobe's bank accounts have been inactive since she went missing, while her bank account has had no activity since May 14.
Acting Police Inspector Ryan Thompson told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday that Pheobe was last seen at about 8.30am at Airport Drive in Bundaberg.
Insp Thompson said Pheobe was dropped off at the airport by 'associates' but never made it to the terminal.
Police are investigating what happened outside the terminal at the time of her disappearance.
Insp Thompson added Pheobe's disappearance was out of character and investigations would continue 'as long as it takes' to locate the missing girl.
'As time goes on, the more worried the family is and the more concerned police are becoming,' Insp Thompson said.
'We are keeping an open mind in relation to the investigation.
It's understood the 17-year-old had saved her own money and was flying to meet her boyfriend who had moved interstate

'We as a family are thankful for the message of support and offers of assistance. Right now we are grasping onto hope and just trying to breath.
'Again all anyone can do to help is: Keep sharing Pheobe's flyer, follow the QLD police for updates and requests for information, keep having conversations with your loved ones, community and colleagues and hold your babies close!
'We would currently do anything to be able to hold our baby tight right now.'
In another message shared on Facebook, the distraught mother shot down suggestions that her daughter had run away as it was at odds with her character.
'If you knew Pheobe you would know that she is free spirited and loves hard! She is loyal to the core and cut throat,' Ms Johnson wrote.
She said her daughter last week marked the anniversaries of the deaths of her best friend and family members.
'She would never leave her family without contact - especially this week. [She] would never not contact us at this emotional time.'
Ms Johnson also shared an emotional message directly to her daughter, begging her to let them know that she was okay.
'Honestly have no words to describe our heartbreak, heartache or fear that we won't see or hear from her again,' Ms Johnson wrote.
'Flea, Flea, my heart tells me that you won't see this, but I love you more than anything in the world.
'Would be homeless just to hear you say "Hey Mummzie what's doing"... I would honestly sell my soul to hear those words.'
Pheobe is described as approximately 180cm (six foot) tall with a pale complexion, long dyed red hair and hazel eyes.
Police are urgently appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of Airport Drive, Commercial Street and Samuels Road area between 8.30am and 9.30am on May 15 to come forward.

EXCLUSIVE Top surgeon in furious marriage split bust-up after he moved his boyfriend into ritzy harbourside mansion
A top Sydney surgeon locked in a bitter marital split has been living with his new lover and the lover's ex-boyfriend at his harbourside mansion on Sydney's ritzy north shore. Kidney transplant specialist Professor David Gracey split from his political lobbyist husband Michael Kauter, chairman and CEO of boutique government affairs advisory Strategic Political Counsel, in December. The estranged couple's $9.5million Mosman mansion is now home to Dr Gracey, his new boyfriend Brooke McFarlane and McFarlane's art dealer ex, Jason Bonham. Mr Kauter - the majority owner of the home - moved out shortly before Mr McFarlane and Mr Bonham moved in. But he says two more people - and their dog - are also now 'squatting' in the basement of his former home. The multimillionaire lobbyist was arrested by police after he turned up at his ex-husband's surgery for what said was a routine check-up, but the charges were withdrawn in June. An outstanding charge against him, involving the alleged theft of a photo frame and shirt, was diverted under a mental health Section 14 and due for finalisation in August. 'The whole situation is, in my view, regrettable and frankly sad, but there's no need for me to comment,' Mr Kauter told Daily Mail Australia. 'I hold no bitterness or anger, I've moved on. 'My focus is on building a positive future, and I've never been so excited about what's ahead. I wish everyone the best.' Section 14 orders divert certain matters from the criminal justice system where health issues, like psychological stress, are involved and provides no finding of guilt or conviction. The ex-boyfriend of Professor Gacey's new lover - who are all now living in the Mosman home, known as The Villa - was previously an art gallery owner on New Zealand 's South Island. Mr Bonham is said to have left New Zealand soon after local media reported he owed more than $50,000 in rent, rates and insurance following the gallery's closure. He is now operating a showroom in Rushcutters Bay in Sydney's eastern suburbs but denied 'doing a runner'. He told Otago Times Daily he may have been 'a couple of months in arrears', but said he hoped to catch up on his bills after the lease on his gallery was sold. 'We haven't done a runner,' he said. 'It's been more negotiating around who's going to be going in there next and making sure we get the right contribution towards that lease negotiation which covers anything that's potentially outstanding.' Dr Gracey and Mr Kautner's lavish mansion is currently undergoing court-ordered renovations and had to be cleared of extensive contents to allow the work to go on. Social media images revealed floor-to-ceiling piles boxes of Mr Bonham's items including leather gear, hoses, dog and kitchen appliances and expensive artefacts. Neighbours allege the home has been operating like a backpackers' hostel, with Mr Bonham's clutter, and the two others living in the basement, who have been branded squatters and 'vagrants'. But Dr Gracey insists he was just helping out some friends and it's not been a permanent arrangement. 'There were no vagrants there,' he told Daily Mail Australia. 'They were mutual friends of mine and my ex who were temporarily residing whilst finding a place in Sydney after relocating from interstate. 'No one was forcefully evicted, they found a place and moved.' The bluechip property which boasts harbour views is understood now said to be worth more than $15million. It will be put up for sale once a new swimming pool is installed and the separate living quarters have been renovated.

Body found in lake in search for missing Cheshire woman Rachel Booth
A body has been found in a lake following an extensive search for a woman who went missing in Cheshire on Saturday morning. Rachel Booth was reported missing in the early hours of Saturday, police said. The 38-year-old was last seen in Sandiway at 3.50am when she was captured on CCTV going into a garage shop, wearing black exercise clothing and trainers. Officers, aided by police dogs, underwater search teams and Cheshire search and rescue had been carrying out extensive inquiries in the area since Booth, from Barnton near Northwich, was reported missing by her family. A body was found in a lake in a village near Delamere Forest, about three miles (5km) from where she was last seen, police said on Monday afternoon. A Cheshire police spokesperson said: 'Officers have been searching tirelessly for the 38-year-old since her disappearance. Following extensive appeals and searches in the area, officers have now sadly recovered a body in a lake in Oakmere. 'Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of Rachel. Her family have been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.' He said the family had asked for privacy. There were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file would be prepared for the coroner, he added. A water sports company nearby, Wild Shore Delamere, said it had closed due to 'ongoing police investigations in the surrounding area'. It said on social media: 'Due to police investigations which are continuing in the surrounding area, Wild Shore Delamere will remain closed for Monday and Tuesday. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. The incident is unrelated to Wild Shore – however we wish to help as much as possible – so we will be closing the site until further notice.'

Former Carlton player is slapped with 10-year ban from owning cattle after pleading guilty to shocking animal cruelty charges
A former football player has been banned from owning cattle for 10 years after he pleaded guilty to 72 charges of animal cruelty and neglect. Joseph Dare, 33, joined the Carlton Football Club during the 2010 Rookie Draft but would never make a first-grade appearance for the club. The dairy farmer, who lives in Victoria, was convicted and was also fined $75,000 for the offences, which were described by Magistrate Franz Holzer as 'one of the worst examples of animal neglect that I have seen'. A well-known footballer among the Victorian local leagues, Dare had first faced 33 charges of animal cruelty in September. Further charges came in April, with 13 aggravated animal cruelty offences and 16 animal cruelty charges for alleged offending being made against the ex-footballer. The incidents were said to have occurred between July 2022 and January 2024. The Colac Magistrates Court heard accounts of how livestock had both suffered and died on his Dreeite farm. Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action prosecutor Scott Ward told the court that his farm had been visited by officers from Agriculture Victoria on multiple occasions during that period. He presented photographs to the court, while detailing graphic incidents where cattle had suffered or died on Dare's farm. The charges levied included allegations that Dare had not provided appropriate care, treatment or attention to the animals and had also failed to provide his livestock with sufficient food. Ward explained that cattle were found to have body score conditions of 0-1. Some of the animals were suffering from issues including lung disease, pneumonia, starvation, dehydration and trauma. Speaking to the court, he said one officer had described the cows as 'walking skeletons and still had calves suckling from them.' Officers found a total of 170 animals on the farm, however, 45 had to be euthanised. Dare was charged with in relation to breaches of Victoria's Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986. During sentencing, Magistrate Holzer described Dare's farm as 'animal killing fields'. 'He got animals that were unwell and then neglected them even further … that's just shameful, shameful,' the magistrate explained. After leaving Carlton, Dare, who is the son of a dairy farmer, moved to play football for the Northern Bullants in 2011 and again moved to Cobden in 2012. After hanging up his footy boots, Dare took up a coaching role at Alvie, going on to help the side win a premiership. Dare told police that his business had grown from 200 milking cows to 2,000, the court was told. He had just one farmhand after losing multiple members of staff back in 2023. But Magistrate Holzer believed that his background in farming should have meant that Dare was better able to care for his animals. 'It's such a significant departure from the standards expected,' Holzer added. 'He was growing his business too quickly, he didn't have the financial capacity … It seems to me he was out of his depth, well and truly.' Dare had been farming in the Nalangil district, 15km from Colac.
