UAE weather: Temperature to hit 43°C in Dubai, Sharjah today
Conditions will turn humid by night and Thursday morning, and there is a probability of fog or mist formation over some northern areas. Humidity will range between 10 and 90 per cent in coastal areas.
Temperatures in internal areas will range between 23°C and 49°C.
Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, causing blowing dust and sand westward, are expected, with a speed of 10–25, reaching 40 Km/hr.
Temperatures will hit a high of 42°C and a low of 30°C in Abu Dhabi, while the mercury may rise to 43°C and touch a low of 31°C in Dubai. In Sharjah, the temperature will range between 29°C minimum and 43°C maximum.
The sea will be moderate, becoming rough westward in the Arabian Gulf and slight in Oman Sea.
Summer will officially start on Saturday, June 21, as the day is called the summer solstice. A summer solstice is the moment when the Sun reaches its highest and northernmost point in the sky.
UAE temperatures had reached a high of 50.5°C on Tuesday, June 17, the NCM said. It was recorded at 2.30pm in Sweihan, Al Ain.

The met department forecasts the formation of rainy clouds from Friday, July 25, to Monday, July 28, particularly over eastern, southern, and some inland areas. These clouds may bring moderate to heavy rain in some areas, along with possible thunder and strong winds. Experts say these patterns are expected to continue intermittently over the next few days — with a more active system forecast around July 25-26. Dr Ahmed Habib, a veteran meteorologist with the NCM, had earlier told the Khaleej Times that the recent weather activity is linked to a combination of atmospheric systems, including a low-pressure system moving in from the east, moisture-laden air from the Arabian Sea, and the northward shift of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

The cumulus clouds may possibly be accompanied by small hailstones, lightning and thunder at times on some eastern, southern and inland areas. This is due to the region being affected during this period by the extension of the Tropical Convergence Zone, moving from the south towards the country, with surface and upper depressions advancing from the south, and moist air masses flowing from the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman towards the country. The rise in temperature during the day and the existence of the eastern mountains lead local cumulus clouds to form in the east and south. Moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active to strong and dust-stirring at times and causing the horizontal visibility to be lower. In its latest weather update from Friday, 25th July to Monday, 28th July, the NCM said, ''There is a chance of convective cloud formation accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, possibly with small hailstones, lightning, and thunder at times, over some eastern and southern areas, extending to some internal regions.'' Winds will be Southeasterly to northeasterly, moderate in speed, becoming active to strong at times with the convective clouds, causing blowing dust and sand, leading to reduced horizontal visibility. Sea will be slightly rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
