‘Irreplaceable' 105-year-old Rolls Royce stolen in hotel heist moments before European tour

A RARE 105-year-old Rolls Royce valued at £300,000 was stolen from a hotel on the evening of a vintage car expedition. The 1920 Silver Ghost was on a trailer at a hotel near Grays, Essex, on Wednesday night. 4 It was about to be transported to Tilbury Docks and on to Helsinki, Finland. But the "irreplaceable" car had vanished when owner Bryan Fitton went to check on it at 6am the next morning. The 82-year-old from Wilmslow, Cheshire, is "heartbroken" at the loss. Essex Police is investigating and urged anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam or other footage to get in contact. The owner is offering a £2,000 reward for the car's return. Bryan told the Mail: "I am hoping someone can spot the car as it's so rare and help me get the trip of a lifetime back on track – hence the reward. "The car is full of irreplaceable parts – it's an original and has even got the original Lady on the grill. "The car has been all over the world and is an advert for British motors – it's been everywhere and it gets stolen in Essex – it's just appalling." He spent years rebuilding the car and has driven it all around the world. It has toured England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Austria among other nations. However this trip was set to be Bryan's first trip to the Baltic States with his beloved car. Development of the Silver Ghost goes back to the start of the 20th century. Around 7874 Silver Ghosts were produced between 1907 and 1926, with American President Woodrow Wilson even owning one of the cars. It was named the best car in the world by Autocar in 1907. 4

Katie Price forced to delete Princess' Instagram post after awkward mistake

A red-faced Katie Price was forced to delete an Instagram tribute to daughter Princess Andre this week. 47-year-old glamour model and personality Katie shares influencer daughter Princess (full name Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther Andre) with former husband Peter Andre. Earlier this week, she took to social media to wish her 17-year-old daughter a happy 18th birthday. Posting a picture of Princess to her Instagram Stories, Katie wrote: 'Happy 18th birthday to the most amazing daughter and my best friend @princess_andre I love you so much'. Realising the mistake she'd made, Katie then took the post down and replaced it with another. '2 days until Princess turns 18 can't believe it xx,' she wrote in the updated post. The TV personality is also mother of Harvey (23), Junior (20), Jett (11), and Bunny (10). Harvey's father is footballer Dwight Yorke, while Junior and Princess were both born from her four-year marriage to Peter Andre. She shares youngest children Jett and Bunny with ex Kieran Hayler, to whom she was married between 2013 to 2018. Princess has indicated her intention of following in her mother's footsteps, previously sharing her ambition of becoming a millionaire before she turns 20. She's already scored brand deals with the likes of Superdrug and PrettyLittleThing, and is also launching her own jewellery line. It was announced earlier that year that she would headline her own ITV show, which follows her journey into the public eye. While Katie is not expected to appear in the show, dad Peter and brother Junior will cameo, along with Peter's wife, Emily. In March, Princess sparked controversy by posting a picture of the £25,000 Audi A1 she purchased after passing her driving test. While many accused her of buying the car with her rich and famous parents' money, Princess hit back, claiming she had her own income. More Trending 'These comments are so funny. To everyone out there, yes I work and yes I earn my own money which I'm super proud of and so thankful that I am lucky enough to buy my own car xx,' she wrote. Mum Katie also commented, saying: 'So proud and so scared at the same time. My baby girl turns 18 next month too so lots of exciting things we will be doing together.' Of Princess passing her driving test, proud dad Peter wrote in his column: 'She kept telling me she failed four times. But you know what they say – or maybe don't say! – The fifth time's a charm. 'As I said to her, it's actually better that it's taken a while for her to pass because at least she knows now that she genuinely deserves to pass and she can feel confident on the roads.' How to cool your car fast? Hannah Fry shares Instagram hack

There's nothing worse than getting in your car during a summer heatwave and it being like a hot oven. While you may reach for the air con (if you're lucky to have it) or wind the windows down fast, this can only add to the discomfort until the vehicle gets moving. Now, a nifty hack by celebrity mathematician and presenter Hannah Fry, has caused a stir on social media. Fry, who was known as 'chief number cruncher' for Channel 4's coverage of last year's general election, took to Instagram to share how to quickly cool your car in a matter of moments. The 41-year-old University of Cambridge professor from Essex, even added an insightful demonstration. How to cool your car down when it's really hot View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hannah Fry (@fryrsquared) Instead of turning on the air conditioning, Fry's hack involves rolling down one of the windows on the nearside of the vehicle. Stepping out the car, she then very quickly open and close the driver's door multiple times. Fry said on her Instagram Reel: 'The reason why it works is that when you open and close the door, especially if you do it quickly, the door as it's moving outwards sweeps out all of the air that's in its way, creating this area of low pressure that you get here. 'And, then that sets up something called 'bulk flow', which is where all of the hot, sweaty, horrible air inside the car is drawn outwards, and the only way to refill it is with nice fresh air from over on the other side.' She added: 'It only takes two or three goes and then suddenly it's beautifully temperate.' This top tip should save you time in making your car's cabin a lot cooler in the UK's current heatwave. Fans react to Hannah Fry's heatwave hack Fry's social media followers were quick to comment on the post, which has now been shared a whopping 4,000 times. One person said: 'The magic of science, I've been doing this for years. I even do it in the house and have my partner stop the other door from slamming while I waft open and shut the front door.' While another added: 'I need to test this!'
