Credit-based evaluation system to assess students' Yoga performance to be set in Haryana govt schools, 'Yoga Break' to be introduced in all govt offices
CHANDIAGARH: A credit-based evaluation system for assessing students' Yoga performance in all government schools will be introduced in Haryana, and a uniform yoga curriculum will soon be implemented in all universities and colleges across the State.

On the 11th International Yoga Day, over one lakh people gathered at the sacred Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra for the State-level event, and nearly 20 lakh participants joined the yoga sessions held across 22 districts and 121 blocks of the State.
Addressing a State-level function, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that a 'Yoga Writer Incentive Scheme' will be launched to promote Yoga research in universities, with outstanding authors to be honoured annually.
Additionally, 100 new 'Yoga evam Vyayamshalas' will be established this financial year.
Currently, there are 883 Vyayamshalas already operating in the State. An international meditation hall will also be built at Shri Krishna AYUSH University in Kurukshetra.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that Yoga and naturopathy subjects will be recognised under the AYUSH, starting this year, with government registration of practitioners also commencing.
Saini also announced that experienced coaches will be appointed to strengthen Yoga as a sport at the national level and to train athletes for international competitions.
Recruitment for 40 Yoga instructors in the sports department will begin shortly.

Haryana Vehicle Tracking: Haryana Enhances Public Transport Safety with Vehicle Tracking Devices, ET Infra
Advt Inspections, compliance and revenue focus By , ETInfra The Haryana government has decided to equip all public transport vehicles with vehicle location tracking devices (VLTDs), according to an official statement issued Monday. The move aims to enhance safety, particularly for women and per a PTI report, the decision was taken at a meeting of the state transport department chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. He directed that department- or district-wise targets be set to ensure timely implementation and asked officials to integrate the tracking system with emergency response service '112'.The VLTD system, developed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under the Nirbhaya framework , provides real-time location data and emergency alert features.'This initiative is expected to be a milestone in establishing a safe transport system for women in the state,' the statement concern over road accidents, the Chief Minister instructed officials to carry out detailed investigations into each incident to identify and address gaps. He also directed that school transport vehicles undergo regular inspections with attention to their technical condition.'All school buses must undergo regular inspections,' he said. 'Non-compliance with rules and guidelines should result in challans and vehicle seizure. The safety of children is our responsibility.'He further directed Haryana Roadways drivers to submit medical certificates at regular address the revenue deficit in the transport sector, Saini asked officials to explore commercial opportunities such as advertising on a review of the city bus service, the Chief Minister called for an increase in the number of electric buses and the establishment of charging stations. Officials informed him that the procurement process for 375 electric buses under the City Bus Service scheme is underway. Under the PM e-Bus Sewa scheme, steps are being taken to purchase an additional 250 electric buses.

Prizes for yoga, drawing awarded to students
Winners of the yoga and drawing competitions, organised jointly by the Sarvodaya Trust Freedom Fighters Association, Krishna-NTR District Yogasana Sports Association and Dream Young and Children's Arts Academy on June 19, were felicitated on Sunday. The prize distribution ceremony for the winners was held at the Sarvodaya Trust Freedom Fighters Association building as part of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations. More than 150 students from various schools participated in the yoga competitions, while around 600 students took part in the drawing competitions. Prizes were awarded to 100 deserving students. N. Balaswamy, TDP Floor leader and Corporator, presented merit certificates to students who excelled in both yoga and drawing competitions. Sarvodaya Trust president G.V. Mohan Prasad, its secretary M. Venkateswara Rao, Dream Young and Children's Arts Academy V. Ramesh, and Krishna-NTR District Yogasana Sports Association secretary L. Muralikrishna attended the event. eom
