Turner returns to Revolution on loan from Lyon after transfer to French team from Nottingham Forest
Turner transferred from England's Nottingham Forest to France's Lyon on Friday, then was loaned to the New England Revolution through June 30, 2026, in a deal that gives the Revolution an option to acquire his rights. Turner will be a designated player on the Revolution's roster for the remainder of the 2025 season. He'll be eligible for targeted allocation money in 2026.
Turner left the Revolution for Arsenal ahead of the 2022-23 season
but played in just five Europa League and two FA Cup matches and
transferred to Forest in August 2023
. He
lost the No. 1 spot there
after allowing soft goals against Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal and was loaned for 2024-25 to Crystal Palace, where he played in just one League Cup game and three FA Cup matches — none after March 1.
Turner was displaced
by New York City's Matt Freese as the U.S. goalkeeper for this year's CONCACAF Gold Cup. The 31-year-old Turner became the No. 1 U.S. goalkeeper ahead of the 2022 World Cup and had started 14 consecutive competitive matches for the U.S. and 23 of 24 before the Gold Cup.
Turner will now look to get back to that level in New England, where he made his pro debut in 2016.
He last played for New England in 2022, posting a 53.3% save percentage over five starts.

All-Pro Zach Allen agrees to 4-year, $102M extension with Broncos, AP source says
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — The Denver Broncos are signing All-Pro defensive lineman Zach Allen to a four-year deal worth $102 million, a person with knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press on Saturday. Speaking to the AP on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly, the person said the deal includes about $70 million in guarantees. Allen is the second veteran to sign a big extension with the Broncos this summer. Earlier this week, wide receiver Courtland Sutton signed a four-year, $92 million deal that included $41 million in guaranteed money. A third-round pick by Arizona out of Boston College in 2019, Allen joined the Broncos two years ago, following defensive coordinator Vance Joseph to Denver. He had five sacks in his first season in Denver and a career-best 8 1/2 sacks last season when he earned second-team All-Pro honors. Allen, who turns 28 this month, also set career bests last year with 15 tackles for loss and 40 quarterback hits. Who's the top dog? Wave-riding canines compete in the World Dog Surfing Championships
PACIFICA, Calif. (AP) — Charlie the yellow lab likes surfing so much he'll grab his surfboard and run toward the water, so much so that his humans sometimes have to hide his board if they want to chitchat with friends on the beach. On Saturday, Charlie is set to join about 15 to 20 other canine wave riders to vie for top dog in the World Dog Surfing Championships outside San Francisco. The annual contest draws thousands of spectators to Pacifica State Beach. Participating pooches compete against similarly sized peers for a chance to appear in the finals. Additional heats feature multiple dogs surfing tandem on one board and dogs riding tandem with humans. Judges scrutinize how long dogs remain on boards, how long they can hold their balance and whether they perform any tricks like turn around while riding waves. Charlie , aged 10, is due to enter the extra-large single surfer heat. He'll also ride tandem with two other dogs, on what their owners call 'The Dream Team.' 'He loves the crowd,' said his owner, Maria Nieboer. In the ocean, Charlie and Maria's husband, Jeff Nieboer, prepare for waves together. When Jeff sees a good wave, he turns the board around and tells Charlie to 'get ready.' At that signal, Jeff pushes the board forward and Charlie scrunches down and rides the wave as long as he can. He can even steer it, at times leaning on the board to ride toward Maria waiting on shore. He doesn't have to be fed treats for any of this. 'Charlie does what Charlie wants to do once we're in the water,' Jeff said. Contest winners get medals and bragging rights. Charlies 'Dream Team' compatriot, Rosie , will be in four heats. The 4.5-year-old yellow lab's owner, Steve Drottar, said Rosie's 'stoked' after they go surfing, which they do four to five times a week at home in Santa Cruz. 'It's like, hey, we actually did something today, right? We did something together as a team,' Drottar said. 'And the fact that you can do something as a team with your dog creates a different bond than you have when you just take your dog for a walk.' He can tell Rosie feels a sense of accomplishment after surfing because she's extra happy and wags her tail extra hard. She snuggles up to Drottar even more than normal.
