Ambrose, 36, was with Celtic for five years between 2012 and 2017.
He quickly established himself as a regular and won four league titles as a Hoops player, also winning both domestic cups once each.
The former Nigeria international, capped 51 times for his country, was also part of the Celtic side that famously beat Barcelona in the Champions League in November 2012.
Ambrose was somewhat an enigma during his time at Parkhead.
Then Celtic manager Neil Lennon hit out at the defender after he ended up missing the team bus to training before a crunch Champions League clash with Juventus in 2013.
Ambrose slept in and ended up having to get a taxi in Turin to make it for the session.
While he was capable of a superb performance, Ambrose's showings were at times met with criticism too.
He was ultimately frozen out of first team affairs when Brendan Rodgers replaced Ronny Deila as manager in 2016.
Moves to Standard Liege and Blackburn fell through before he headed for Hibs on loan in February 2017.
He would subsequently join the Easter Road club permanently before exercising an option in his contract to leave in January 2019, joining Derby.
Rodgers' message to Celtic board, striker woes & huge Champions League risk
After eight months without a club, Ambrose was back in Scotland again in February 2020 with Livingston.
Becoming a bit of a journeyman, he then turned out for St Johnstone, Dunfermline, Morton and Queen of the South during a rather busy three-year spell.
Ambrose went to England once again with Bury and spent the last year with Workington.
But now, he's back in Scottish football again.
This time, he's headed for the NINTH tier.
Ambrose has joined West of Scotland League Third Division club Glasgow United for the upcoming season.
The club have posted a picture of the defender holding his new kit.
Ambrose has, in fact, already made his debut for his new team - and it was a bit chaotic.
The West of Scotland League kicked-off on Saturday and Glasgow United headed for Ayrshire to take on Ardeer Thistle in their season opener.

Ardeer Thistle revealed the debut didn't quite go to plan!
And a post on X from the home team revealed that Glasgow United endured a rather bizarre start to the game.
That's because Ambrose showed up LATE - with his team starting with a man less!
In the 12th minute of the game, Ardeer posted: "Not much to report other than Glasgow United starting the match with 10 men.
"Efe Ambrose has now turned up and takes his place in the back line."
Ten minutes later, Glasgow United had a man sent off and were once again back down to ten men.
Ardeer won the match 3-0.
After Ambrose's shock appearance, the club confirmed after the game that they'd signed the ex-Celtic man.
On Facebook, they said: "He is here. Efe Ambrose put the pen to paper and made his debut but there is still more to come."
Fans were stunned to see Ambrose back in the Scottish game.
One fan said: "Efe Ambrose in Shettleston wasn't on my 2025 Bingo card."
While another said: "Efe Ambrose, the gift that keeps on giving."

Newcastle United transfer news: Benjamin Sesko, Yoane Wissa, Randal Kolo Muani and more
Having ended their trophy drought with Carabao Cup success last season, Newcastle United now have work to do in the transfer market. With a return to the Champions League, the Magpies need to strengthen their squad to compete at the highest level. Boss Eddie Howe has made it known that he is looking to work fast this summer, seemingly not wanting to repeat the sort of saga that saw Marc Guehi remain at Crystal Palace despite strong interest last summer. The Saudi-backed club were without any major recruits over the past two seasons due to PSR rules, but started the summer with a big move for Anthony Elanga – with the Nottingham Forest winger joining in a deal worth £55m – and are set to make more notable additions as they continue a pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike. Here's everything you need to know about Newcastle United 's summer transfer plans: There are four key areas of improvement this summer. The first is up front, with the club seemingly hunting for another striker to join - or potentially replace - the prolific Alexander Isak. Despite the club being desperate to hold onto their talisman, the Swede is exploring other options and seemingly wants to join Liverpool. Newcastle needed reinforcements on the right flank too as they prepare to do battle in the Champions League, and with squad depth likely playing a key part in their recruitment plan this summer, the club sealed a deal for Elanga earlier this month. In midfield, the Magpies have plenty of options, with the likes of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes probably in no need of additional support. However, another central defender would be a major plus as the club returns to Europe's top club competition, with Guehi having been the notable target last summer. Finally, Newcastle have been linked to signing a new goalkeeper, which has become an apparent area that would benefit from improvement. Despite Nick Pope's class, his injury record has sometimes meant Howe is forced to contend with his his back-up. James Trafford appeared to top the list of targets, but the Burnley stopper now looks set for a return to Manchester City. Done deals Ins: Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest, £55m), Antonito Cordero (Malaga, free transfer) Outs: Lloyd Kelly (Juventus, £15m), Sean Longstaff (Leeds United, £12m) Jamal Lewis (out of contract), Callum Wilson (out of contract) Potential targets Benjamin Sesko, RB Leipzig As the club braces for a monster bid from Liverpool for wantaway Isak, Newcastle are eyeing up RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko as his potential replacement. The Slovenian striker was heavily touted with a move to Arsenal earlier in the window, but the German club held firm on his £70m price tag. After already being pipped to Hugo Ekitike by the Reds, a hefty cash windfall from the sale of Isak would no doubt provide them with the funds to complete the move. Yoane Wissa, Brentford Newcastle are also said to now be interested in Brentford's Yoane Wissa as they look to bolster their attacking options. The Congo international could be available for around £50m, with the Bees holding that valuation for their record goalscorer, who grabbed 20 goals in all competitions last season. However, as Newcastle begin to accept the reality that they may now be without their superstar striker, their interest in Wissa - who would be seen as more of a support act to Isak - is starting to cool. Randal Kolo Muani, PSG Reports have emerged that the Magpies could be interested in Randal Kolo Muani after their failed pursuit of Ekitike. They are said to want a striker whether or not Isak leaves, and the PSG man – who spent last season on loan at Juventus – could be a good cut-price option. Axel Disasi, Chelsea Reports from France continue to link Axel Disasi to Newcastle, as was the case during the January window. Chelsea signed the centre-back for around £38m and could be open to a sale, with the Frenchman having spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Jack Conan reveals video from Katie Taylor inspired Lions before second Test win
Taylor, an Olympic gold medal winner and current undisputed world super lightweight champion, sent the good luck message to Andy Farrell's squad in the build-up to Saturday's second Test at Melbourne Cricket Club. The 39-year-old's words on the ability to dig deep turned out to be prophetic as the Lions emerged 29-26 winners after fighting back from an 18-point deficit. 'The video was unbelievably poignant and powerful. It spoke about being prepared to win with skill, but also being ready to win by will,' said Ireland number eight Conan, who like Taylor hails from Bray in County Wicklow. History made 🦁#Lions2025 — British & Irish Lions (@lionsofficial) July 26, 2025 'That was something that was massively summed up in the game because we were not at our best at all. 'It's huge because she comes from the town I'm from. I'm incredibly proud of where I come from and I know Katie is as well. 'She's gone on to achieve incredible feats in the boxing world. To be such a superstar, incredibly humble and driven is something that we leant on as well because we knew that Australia are a hugely proud nation and they showed it in spades. 'Everyone loved it, even the English and the Scottish boys and the Welsh boy – it resonated with everyone. It was unbelievably poignant, it was class. It really hit home for us.' It took a beautifully-taken try by Hugo Keenan with 51 seconds remaining to separate the rivals in one of the greatest Lions matches ever played. Remarkably, Keenan's touchdown was the first time they led in the match. Conan admits that victory tastes all the sweeter for having been taken to the wire as Australia raised their game to a whole new level a week after starting the series with a whimper in Brisbane. 'We were not at our best by any measure, but physically the lads dug in unbelievably well,' he said. Full time scenes in Melbourne 🥹🦁#Lions2025 — British & Irish Lions (@lionsofficial) July 26, 2025 'It was disappointing how we played, but we played for 80 minutes. Hugo getting over the line in the last minute was just unbelievable. 'It wasn't my best game. A lot of us weren't at the races at all, but we stuck in there. You can't fault the effort. I thought the defensive sets we put in, just whacking people and just staying in there, was unbelievable. 'It's something that will go down in history. They won't be writing the history books about how s*** we were, but they'll say that we won and that's all that matters. 'Everyone's over the moon. To be part of a Lions winning series team is incredibly special. The celebrations in the changing room wouldn't have been the same if we'd won by 20.'

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey to Celtic could prove major coup after what Pep Guardiola said about Man City prodigy
Brendan Rodgers is said to be lining up a loan swoop for the highly-rated England youth international Celtic are said to be lining up a loan move for Manchester City defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. And the teenage star has already been tipped as the future of the Citizens' defence by Pep Guardiola. Highly-rated Simpson-Pusey, 19, burst onto the scene at the Etihad last season and immediately caught the eye. The England youth international made six first-team appearances - including two Champions League outings against Sporting Lisbon and Feyenoord. Simpson-Pusey was also crowned EPL 2 Player of the Year after captaining Man City's reserves to title glory, seeing off competition from Hoops new Bhoy Callum Osmand at Fulham. The youngster actually faced Celtic during City's pre-season tour of the USA in 2024, as Brendan Rodgers' side edged out 4-3 winners. He was then called upon by Guardiola throughout the campaign as the dethroned Premier League champions suffered an injury crisis. And the breakthrough talent seriously impressed his manager, with Guardiola hailing him as one for the future after his display in a 2-1 defeat at Brighton. All-conquering Guardiola said: 'The guy played really good, the young lad again, with this composure and duels and everything was good. It's not easy for him. 'Normally the young lads, they must come in with support from the team, with Rodri in front of them, right? With the best Kyle [Walker], and defenders, and now we support him. 'Now he's playing in a position that is difficult for him, but he performed unbelievably. We have a central defender to help us for the future, for the next years. I'm really pleased. Always there is good news when the situation goes bad, and this is one of them.' Guardiola revealed in December that he was tempted to throw in the rising star in the heat of a Manchester derby. He added: 'For example against (Manchester) United I thought to put Jahmai (Simpson-Pusey); he's played really good, but that pressure in that situation, it's a little bit…' Having offloaded Gustaf Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki, Celtic are in the market for more defensive cover. At least one winger, midfielder and main striker are also on Rodgers' wishlist as the champions kick off their title defence this weekend.
