The carousel begins with a throwback family photo featuring Boman's wife, Zenobia, and their sons, Danesh and Kayoze. In true Boman style, he added a dose of humour and wrote, 'Always knew I'd direct something one day… Just didn't know it would take me 65 years."
The post continues with a present-day snippet of his grown-up sons and a touching message, 'Fast forward to today… my son Kayoze just directed his first film, Sarzameen." Next, we see another nostalgic image of Kayoze holding a clapboard for his father, and Boman added, 'He started off holding the clapboard for me. And now? He's calling the shots…"
Boman also reminded fans that this year is doubly special for the Irani family, as both father and son made their directorial debuts in the same year. The post shows Boman planting a kiss on Kayoze's cheek, and the caption reads, 'Both father and son made their directorial debuts in the same year. Thankfully, I managed mine a few months earlier!"
The carousel closes with the duo posing for the lenses. 'It's showtime, folks!" he wrote in the last frame.
The film brings together Ibrahim Ali Khan, Kajol, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. Backed by Dharma Productions, the film is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta. Mark your calendars! Sarzameen will be out on JioHotstar on July 25.
Earlier this year, Boman made his own directorial debut with The Mehta Boys. The film, starring himself, Avinash Tiwary and Shreya Chaudhry, revolves around a father and his son whose bond is marred by troubles. The film also premiered at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
