NYU withholds diploma from student who decried ‘genocide' in Gaza during commencement speech — as Dem says, ‘Good luck getting a job'
NYU Gallatin School's student commencement speaker Logan Rozos used the sentimental platform to rail against the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in a violation of preestablished guidelines, the university said in a statement.
'The only thing that is appropriate to say in this time, and to a group this large, is a recognition of the atrocities currently happening in Palestine,' Rozos said to an applauding crowd at the Beacon Theatre, video shared online showed.

'I want to say that the genocide currently occurring is supported politically and militarily by the United States, is paid for by our tax dollars,' he continued as students continued to clap.
'I just want to say I condemn this genocide and complicity in this genocide,' Rozos declared as his graduation cap fell off his head.

NYU officials swiftly condemned the speech in a statement calling out Rozos for using the platform to share 'personal and one-sided political views' and for lying to the university.
'NYU strongly denounces the choice by a student at the Gallatin School's graduation today at Gallatin School's graduation today,' John Beckman, senior vice president for public affairs and strategic communications.
'He lied about the speech he was going to deliver and violated the commitment he made to comply with our rules. The University is withholding his diploma while we pursue disciplinary actions,' he stated.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D.-Fla.) took Rozos to task for lying and said NYU has every right to withhold the diploma from Gallatin, which is a liberal arts school.
'He lied to the university. Second of all, he lied to everyone listening. There's no genocide going on in Israel. There is a war, it's unfortunate,' Moskowitz said Thursday on CNN's 'News Night with Abby Phillip,' The Hill reported.
'But at the end of the day, that's up to the university whether they give him his diploma or not,' he added.

'You know, in fact, they can give him his diploma, it's not going to matter. Good luck getting a job. That was a stupid, selfish thing — ruined the ceremony for a lot of families,' Moskowitz charged.

Whether Rozos will receive his diploma is still in the air — but the university indicated that further penalties could be levied against the former student.
'NYU is deeply sorry that the audience was subjected to these remarks and that this moment was stolen by someone who abused a privilege that was conferred upon him,' Beckman said.

EU's top diplomat says hostage video 'appalling,' Hamas rule must end
The European Union's top diplomat has described the pictures of severely emaciated Israeli hostages still held in captivity by the Islamist Hamas in Gaza as "appalling," calling for their immediate release and an end to the militant group's rule. "The images of Israeli hostages are appalling and expose the barbarity of Hamas," Kaja Kallas wrote on X on Sunday. She also acknowledged the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, saying "large-scale humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach those in need." In the nearly five-minute video released on Saturday, hostage Evyatar David is so thin his bones stick out all over his body. He points to a calendar and tells the viewers when he has eaten - and when not. At times, the 24-year-old has gone three days without food or water. David is then forced to dig what he says is his "own grave" in the propaganda video released by the terrorist organization. His family approved the video's release. Kallas said Hamas, which started the current conflict when it invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1200 people and taking some 250 hostage, can no longer control Gaza. "Hamas must disarm and end its rule in Gaza," she said. Several Arab states, including Egypt and Qatar, which are mediating in indirect talks between the warring parties, recently called for an end to Hamas rule in the coastal territory during a UN conference in New York. They want Hamas to "hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority with international engagement and support." Hamas claims all of historic Palestine, including the territory of the modern state of Israel. It does not recognize Israel's right to exist. However, in a 2017 policy document, the group accepted a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, consisting of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. In the ongoing war, 60,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to the health authority controlled by Hamas. The figure does not distinguish between combatants and civilians, though the vast majority of victims are said to be women, minors and the elderly.

Hamas to blame for hunger in Gaza: Huckabee
(NewsNation) — As the United Nations secretary general has said Gaza is 'on the brink of famine,' United States ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee says Israel shouldn't be responsible for feeding them. 'Look, I would agree that food, water and medicine need to flood in there. But you know who else is hungry in Gaza? The hostages,' Huckabee said on NewsNation's 'Morning in America with Hena Doba' on Saturday, as Israel resumed airdrops of food over the area. Huckabee and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff spoke with Gazans at an aid site on Friday. 'They're the ones who are telling us their suffering is caused by Hamas, and they want them gone,' Huckabee said of Gazans he spoke with. 'They love President Trump, and they think he's the one who's the key to getting some of this resolved and moving forward for a better life for all of them.' 'Chaotic situation': Journalist describes food distribution in Gaza The two officials spent over five hours in Gaza and met with the Gaza Health Foundation and other agencies.'The purpose of the visit was to give @POTUS a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation and help craft a plan to deliver food and medical aid to the people of Gaza,' Witkoff wrote on social media. According to the U.N. World Food Program, 1 in 3 people in Gaza are now going days without food, and more than 500,000 are facing famine-like conditions. 'It's tragic what's happening there, but the greatest tragedy of all is that people are blaming Israel,' Huckabee said. 'Can anyone tell me in the history of mankind, in the history of modern civilization, when a nation that has been attacked and has its citizens massacred, when was it the responsibility of the nation attacked to feed the people who attacked it?' The war officially began on Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas launched attacks on Israel and kidnapped hundreds of people. At least 50 of them are still in Hamas custody, and fewer than half are thought to be alive. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. After blacks in Cincinnati beat white adults, why was there no nationwide, racial outrage?
Recently, a large group of black youths began pummeling white adults in downtown Cincinnati. The original altercation apparently broke out between a black and white male in he-said/he-said fashion. But that dispute soon turned into a virtual free-for-all. Numerous male and female black youths sucker-punched a middle-aged woman. Others continued to kick or body slam the victims. There were many disturbing aspects to the beat-downs. One, the violence broke out along racial and age fault lines. After the initial dispute, groups of black youths swarmed solitary older white bystanders to pound them. Two, the surrounding assembled group of black youths not only failed to intervene to restrain the bullies. They also recorded the beatings for social media and were heard cheering on the one-sided violence. Three, there was neither a police presence nor any timely Good Samaritan interventions. Four, oddly few of the usual black spokespeople who habitually comment on interracial violence were to be seen. During the fake Jussie Smollett attack, self-appointed leaders from Al Sharpton to Kamala Harris immediately issued warnings about so-called systemic white racism that had reared its ugly head to victimize Smollett. Yet when it was revealed Smollett had concocted the entire charade — and even hired his own assaulters — there were few if any retractions from those once so eager to shout 'racist!' Such demagoguery is a well-known pattern dating back to the days of the Tawana Brawley rape hoax, the Duke Lacrosse charade, the Covington kids ruse, the Michael Ford 'Hands-up-Don't Shoot' fabrication or the NASCAR noose fable. Racialists too often concoct white racist attackers and go silent when the evidence proves fabricated — only to be primed to manipulate the next hoax. Five, the media and authorities did their best to either hide or play down the violence. City leaders, the chief of police and the media variously blamed the mass black-on-white violence on 1) social media, 2) the original dispute, 3) alcohol, 4) the lack of civilian intervention to stop the violence and 5) a festival atmosphere — anything except endemic racial hatred shown toward whites from the crowd of black youths. Six, had a gang of white toughs beat middle-aged African-Americans senseless, recorded it and cheered on the violence, there would have been immediate national outrage. Nor did anyone wish to raise the taboo topic of inordinate black crime rates, disproportionate to respective demographic realities. In rare interracial violent crimes, the asymmetrical ratio of black-on-white versus white-on-black assaults ranges from three to five times greater. Seven, the quiet of the left-wing media to the reprehensible violence stands in marked contrast with their usual rush-to-judgment racialism in two near-simultaneous incidents. When a shooter entered a New York City corporate headquarters last week and executed four innocents, CNN falsely raised the speculation that a 'white male' was perhaps responsible — despite the photograph of the suspect, who was as clearly male as he was not white. Media and municipal officials jumped to explain the violence as due to the killer's alleged past traumatic brain injury or because of his access to a semi-automatic weapon — or anything other than his hate-filled plan to murder an NFL executive. Actress and model Sydney Sweeney just cut a jeans commercial in front of a poster that said, 'Sydney Sweeney has great genes' — with 'genes' crossed out and replaced with 'jeans.' The left then exploded, alleging the ad was a supposed Hitlerian reference to white eugenics. Yet the eugenics movement in America was mostly a product of left-wing progressives, from Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger to Democratic President Woodrow Wilson. And the ad's sponsor, American Eagle, had previously used all sorts of models from all racial backgrounds. All might agree that the ad simply shows both tight, sexy jeans and a naturally attractive wearer — period. The country is descending into a tribal morass of double standards and racial fixations. The diversity/equity/inclusion industry, the defund-the-police madness and the perpetual left-wing hunt for 'white racism/white privilege/white rage' — from the prior Pentagon hierarchy to the lunatic fringe of Jasmine Crockett, Joy Reid and Zohran Mamdani — have all legitimized double standards while lowering the bar of the once unacceptable. When our careerist left-wing elites seek to divide us by race and make it essential, not incidental, to our identities, that tribalist message filters throughout communities. The ensuing signal is that 'payback' violence is OK — on the expectation that there are no consequences for interracial violence — as long as the victim is white and the assaulter is not.
