American action legend Sylvestor Stallone dropped behind-the-scenes snaps from his second campaign for SouthMED, Talaat Moustafa Group's (TMG) ultra-luxury North Coast enclave. Joined by Egyptian actor Mohamed Al-Saadi, football icon Thierry Henry, and director Ali Ali, the shoot highlights the project's sprawling 11km Mediterranean shoreline and yacht-friendly marinas.
SouthMED is TMG's flagship coastal development, sprawling over 23 million square metres in El Dabaa along Egypt's North Coast. The resort is set to feature over 2,000 hotel rooms, more than 60,000 residential units, an international marina, an 18-hole golf course, and a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment venues.
The development aims to position itself as a global destination on the southern Mediterranean, offering a blend of luxury living and leisure experiences. With its strategic location near Al Alamein Airport and a range of upscale amenities, SouthMED is poised to become just the kind of place Rambo would settle down in.

Egyptian Producer HatemBas Drops Multi-Genre Debut EP 'Wa2t'

Written while touring with rapper Marwan Moussa, Egyptian producer HatemBas's first EP blends indie-pop, hip-hop, and shaabi into an emotional study of time. Jul 13, 2025 With his debut EP, 'Wa2t', Cairo-based producer HatemBas rewires the clock. Known for his eclectic sound - built from hip-hop's postmodern textures, indie-pop lyricism, and the rhythmic grit of shaabi and maqsoum - HatemBas uses this project to establish his unique sonic identity. Written while touring with rapper Marwan Moussa, 'Wa2t' pushes beyond club-ready electronics. Across three immersive tracks, HatemBas fractures and reassembles time into layered soundscapes: ambient fragments, hypnotic drums, and intimate melodies unfold like emotional timestamps. The project blends afro rhythms with Arabic melodies in a way that's both grounded and otherworldly. Rather than treating time as a line, 'Wa2t' explores it as a feeling. Love, heartbreak, waiting, and repetition all collide in a surrealist sonic journey. The EP cover, a warped clock, captures this tension: time moves forward, but emotions fold in on themselves.

Egypt Reopens Historic Sinai Valleys to Tourists After 10 Years

Ahmed Emam In the heart of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, a silence stretching more than a decade is about to be broken. Rugged valleys, hidden between towering granite peaks and swept by winds carrying whispers of history, are opening once more to the world. Egypt has announced the long-awaited reopening of several historic valleys around the sacred city of Saint Catherine in South Sinai, signaling a powerful revival for one of the country's most unique and spiritual destinations. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, said that both Egyptian and international tourists can once again visit these valleys for activities like safaris, hiking, and camping. The decision, he explained, is part of Egypt's sweeping 'Great Transfiguration' project, an ambitious plan to transform Saint Catherine into an international beacon of eco-tourism, religious pilgrimage, and desert adventure. The valleys now welcoming visitors — among them Wadi Sheikh Awad, Wadi Talaha, Wadi Zaghra, Wadi Al-Talaa, the Mountains of Al-Arba'een, and Al-Saba'eya — are more than mere landscapes. They are ancient corridors that have witnessed monks, Bedouins, traders, and pilgrims for centuries. Their sandstone walls glow pink at dawn and burnished gold at sunset, creating a timeless backdrop for the stories of prophets and civilizations. Yet for over ten years, these valleys remained closed to visitors, a measure tied partly to security concerns and preservation efforts. The decision to reopen them represents not only a tourism revival but also a restoration of cultural and spiritual connections. Saint Catherine itself is nestled beneath some of Egypt's highest peaks, including Mount Sinai — revered in Islamic tradition as the place where God spoke to Prophet Moses (peace be upon him). Nearby stands Mount Saint Catherine, the tallest peak in Egypt, soaring over 2,600 meters above sea level. The city's ancient monastery, rugged wilderness, and serene silence have long attracted spiritual seekers and adventurers from around the globe. The Egyptian government hopes that the 'Great Transfiguration' project — with an estimated investment of around 4 billion Egyptian pounds (approximately \$83 million) — will bring millions of tourists annually to this sacred corner of the country. Plans include new infrastructure, visitor services, and preservation efforts, all designed to protect the area's fragile ecosystem while opening it to sustainable tourism. Officials envision Saint Catherine as Egypt's capital of eco-tourism and a global hub for religious and cultural travel. As the valleys reopen, there is a sense of both anticipation and reverence. For those who venture into Sinai's vast silence, the desert's secrets — hidden for a decade — are waiting to be rediscovered under the same stars that once guided prophets, nomads, and explorers through this land of awe and mystery. read more 2 Most Inspirational Green Projects in Egypt AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT to Strive over Viewership Tonight Egypt Marks 70th Anniv. of 2011 Revolution, National Police Day In Depth: WWE NXT Halloween Havoc In Depth: AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT Tuesday Viewership Strive Videos & Features WATCH: Egyptians Break Ramadan Fasts in Matariya Videos & Features GrEEk Campus Hosts Jobzella Fifth Career Fair Videos & Features 3 Iconic Ramadan Songs of All Times Videos & Features Top 4 Destinations to Visit in Upper Egypt News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream

Egypt, Sierra Leone discuss cooperation in civil aviation

Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny met with Alhaji Fanday Turay, Minister of Transport and Aviation of the Republic of Sierra Leone, in line with directives from Egypt's political leadership to strengthen bilateral relations with African nations. The meeting aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation in training, maintenance, air navigation, aviation services, and the exchange of expertise. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation across key areas, particularly the development of airport infrastructure and the enhancement of training programmes for technical and administrative staff. The two sides also considered updating and broadening the scope of the existing Memorandum of Understanding to reflect regional and international developments in the civil aviation sector, supporting shared development objectives. At the outset of the meeting, El-Hefny emphasised Egypt's commitment to deepening ties with African countries across multiple fields, with civil aviation identified as a crucial pillar for advancing continental integration and economic growth. He affirmed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation stands ready to provide technical and training support to Sierra Leone, drawing on the expertise of the Egyptian Aviation Academy and the EgyptAir Training Academy. El-Hefny also highlighted that Egyptian-African cooperation in air transport extends beyond technical collaboration to include efforts that advance comprehensive development, through enhancing air connectivity, knowledge transfer, and capacity building. This approach, he noted, aligns with Egypt's vision of fostering sustainable development across Africa through greater regional integration. For his part, Alhaji Fanday Turay expressed Sierra Leone's desire to establish a strategic partnership with Egypt, particularly to benefit from Egyptian expertise in human resource development, airport infrastructure, and improving aviation security and safety standards. He described the visit as an important step towards opening broader avenues of cooperation with Egypt, which he praised as a successful model for civil aviation advancement on the continent. 'We highly value Egypt's leading role in Africa and look forward to drawing on its experience to build a modern and efficient aviation system in Sierra Leone,' Turay said. He also expressed hope for tangible progress through joint training programmes, technical exchange visits, and exploring direct air connectivity between Cairo and Freetown — a move that would help boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two countries. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of ongoing coordination and deepening cooperation in training and technical qualification. Such efforts aim to prepare specialised personnel to meet the growing needs of Sierra Leone's aviation sector, while also enhancing Egyptian-African collaboration in this strategically vital field.
