'Never heard of it': Elon Musk's nonchalant swipe at Donald Trump's ‘America Party' rant on Truth Social; netizens remind him

Time of India7 hours ago
Elon Musk fired off a nonchalant jab at
Donald Trump
after the US president lashed out over Musk's newly launched "America Party." With a smirk-worthy 'What's Truth Social?' Musk played down Trump's attack, but the internet wasn't having it.
Netizens piled on, reminding Musk exactly what Trump's platform is, as the tech titan and the president's feud took a fresh, viral twist.
"What's Truth Social? Never heard of it," Musk said, responding to a post on X which posted the screenshot of Donald Trump's long Truth Social rant against his ex-ally Musk.
In his post, Trump called Musk a "train wreck" who had gone "completely off the rails" over the "past five weeks".
"I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely 'off the rails,' essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks," Trump said.
He further went on to call out Musk's newly launched "America Party" saying that the US political system wasn't build to make a third party succeed. "He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States - The System seems not designed for them.
The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!" Trump said.
Meanwhile, netizens were quick to remind Musk about Truth Social, a platform he's commented on several times before. "Elon Musk says he's never heard of Truth Social. However, he has made several posts in the past about President Trump's Truth Social posts," said Trump ally Laura Loomer.
Another user posted a screenshot of Musk's 2022 X post where he was comparing Truth Social's performance on Apple Store against Twitter and TikTok.
Musk, once a major donor to Trump's 2024 campaign, parted ways with the president after spearheading cost-cutting measures as head of the Department of Government Efficiency.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 may get bigger cover screen, slim design: Report

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7 at its second Unpacked event of the year, scheduled for July 9. Ahead of the official launch, alleged hands-on images and video of the flip-style foldable have surfaced online, hinting at key design and feature upgrades. According to a 9to5Google report, a user on X (formerly Twitter) posted a video of what is believed to be the Galaxy Z Flip 7, showcasing the phone's larger outer screen and slimmer frame. The video was later taken down, but not before screenshots were captured and shared by technology news site SamMobile. Galaxy Z Flip 7: Design upgrades As per the leaked images, Samsung's upcoming flip phone will sport a larger 4-inch cover display, up from the current model's 3.4-inch. The new widget panel shown in the video appears to take advantage of the expanded screen by displaying up to four widgets simultaneously. The inner foldable display is also expected to grow to 6.9-inch, compared to the 6.7-inch panel on current model. Although the bezels surrounding the screen seem unchanged, the Flip 7 is tipped to be thinner (0.8mm slimmer when folded and 0.4mm thinner when open). However, these changes are unlikely to be visually noticeable without a side-by-side comparison. Galaxy Z Flip 7: Specifications and expected features In a potential shift from tradition, Samsung may power the Flip 7 with its in-house Exynos 2500 processor, replacing the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip that previously powered its foldables. This move reflects the dual-chip strategy seen in the Galaxy S-series. While the Flip 7 is likely to retain its predecessor's camera hardware, the imaging experience may benefit from the ProVisual Engine. Additionally, the foldable is expected to use upgraded OLED materials for better energy efficiency and reduced crease visibility. Galaxy Z Flip 7: What to expect 4-inch cover screen with enhanced widget interface 6.9-inch foldable OLED main display Thinner chassis for improved portability New case designs and subtle cosmetic tweaks Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and Fold 7 series also expected Samsung may also unveil a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE alongside the flagship model. The event could further see the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 series, which may include the standard Fold 7 and a higher-end Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra variant.

All About Truth Social: How Many Subscribers It Has, Who Are Prominent Users

When Trump Media and Technology Group and T Media Tech LLC launched Truth Social in February 2022, they claimed to offer an alternative to "big tech tyranny" and to protect users' freedom of speech. And despite US President Donald Trump using it to announce the most important policy and ceasefire decisions, the platform is struggling to retain its American user base. Truth Social's fading popularity received another blow when Trump's friend-turned-foe, Elon Musk, claimed he had never heard of the platform. His remark came hours after Trump attacked him for founding a new political party. " What's Truth Social?" Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter). In another post, he added, "Never heard of it". The Number Story Although Truth Social refuses to make user counts public, the site has about two million active users each month and 25.5 million visits. As of February 2024, research firm Similarweb reported there are roughly 5 million active users on the microblogging platform. Monthly users on two rival social media networks, Facebook and TikTok, are approximately 1 billion and 3 billion, during the same period. Truth Social's biggest issue is its inability to retain users, with about 49 per cent of people not using the app for at least 61 days. A typical user spends fewer than two days a week on the platform. According to the platform's user demographics, 43 per cent of active users are women and 57 per cent are men. The average monthly visits to the website, from May 2022 to April 2023, dropped by more than 39 per cent to little over 4 million from May 2023 to April 2024. According to three separate data organisations, Truth Social's monthly active user counts in the US dropped sharply in the last few months of 2023, as reported by CNBC. However, the platform's traffic increased in the first quarter of 2024 when Trump Media went public. Who All Are Using It Besides the US President, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the Trump-owned microblogging platform back in 2019. PM Modi said he was "delighted" to be on the platform in his first post from March, which included a picture of him with Trump taken in Houston, Texas, during his 2019 US tour, BBC reported. Other prominent personalities on the social media platform include Donald Trump Jr, Dan Bongino, Sean Hannity, Eric Trump, Dinesh D'Souza, Devin Nunes, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, among others. Republicans make up a large portion of the user base on the politically charged social media site. Democratic voters are quite unlikely to use the platform on a regular basis, let alone give it a try, reports say.
