Not Aamir Khan, but this actor was the first choice for Rang De Basanti, his name is…
'Rang De Basanti' became a pivotal film for everyone involved, including Aamir Khan, who had already created many wonders in his career. He played the memorable character DJ/Chandrashekhar Azad, who, with his friends, decided to stand up against the corrupt and unjust system in the country. However, did you know that Aamir Khan, who made that role so special, was not the first choice for this film? Manoj Bajpayee Was Initially Chosen For Rang De Basanti
In a conversation with Ravya Sarda on her YouTube show, famous screenwriter Kamlesh Pandey shared several stories from behind the scenes and the film's development. He revealed that Manoj Bajpayee was originally set to play DJ. He stated, 'We had been trying to get the film's script produced for six years, but no one was interested. We had signed Manoj for the role that Aamir eventually took. Our original idea was to create a small film due to our limited budget. Once Aamir heard the script, he showed interest in the project and even brought AR Rahman on board. UTV, which had turned down the film twice before, quickly agreed to proceed.'
Pandey also noted that many in the film industry were not taking the script seriously and were unclear about the story. 'Producers thought this was a remake of Sholay from Basanti's viewpoint. They would ridicule it and ask who would play Basanti, to which I would respond, rather seriously, that we were thinking of casting Esha Deol. They took it at face value, and I wasn't sure whether to laugh or be upset at their reactions. More About Rang De Basanti
Released in 2006, 'Rang De Basanti' tells the story of a group of carefree friends who become rebellious and confront government with bold action to protest against corruption in India after their friends tragic demise. In addition to Aamir Khan, the film stars Siddharth, R. Madhavan, Atul Kulkarni, Soha Ali Khan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, and British actress Alice Patten, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

This famous British social media celebrity flew to India for just one ingredient!
Some go the extra mile for love. This one flew across continents just to get curry leaves. British content creator Ved Campbell Maddison, known for speaking fluent Hindi, using Mumbai-style humour, and telling stories in his quirky way, has gone viral once again with his latest video. It begins with a small food craving from his partner: 'Mujhe kaanda poha chahiye.' But there's one condition: she wants it made with fresh curry leaves. While most people would make do with dried ones or leave them out, this couple had other plans and took the craving to a whole new level. In true cinematic style, he sets off on what turns into a full-blown curry leaf mission. From boarding an overnight flight to tackling Mumbai's bustling local trains, Ved documents every step of his adventure with trademark quirkiness. At one point, he is yawning dramatically in a crowded train. At another, he is helping co-passengers with luggage while tracking down the elusive patta. Eventually, he secures the prize from a local Indian market and hops back on a flight, leaves in hand and mission complete. Back in the kitchen, the scene is nothing short of delightful. His girlfriend rinses the poha while Ved cheerfully calls them 'poha flakes.' He roasts peanuts, adds mustard seeds, jeera powder, chillies, and finally the freshly flown curry leaves. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 새로 나온 '암보험' 최적가 가입인기! The couple cooks together, laughs, and digs into a dish that's now much more than just breakfast. It's a love story, told through food. The internet is, understandably, obsessed. The video has racked up millions of views, with users praising Ved for turning something as ordinary as grocery shopping into a full-on rom-com. From 'Kanda Poha Princess' to 'national pati goals,' fans can't get enough. At its heart, this viral moment isn't just about poha or curry leaves. It's about effort, humour, and finding joy in the little things, like making sure your partner gets the exact version of comfort food she craved. And let's be honest, poha with curry leaves really does taste better. In a world full of shortcuts, Ved's journey reminds us that sometimes the smallest ingredients can mean the most, especially when they come wrapped in intention, laughter, and a touch of madness.

Jacob Elordi, Tom Holland, and Harris Dickinson eyed for Denis Villeneuve's James Bond film: Reports
After Denis Villeneuve was announced as the director of the next James Bond film, rumours of the actor in the runing to play the British spy has once again begun doing the rounds. According to reports, the movie that won't be ready before 2028, is syeing British actors under 30 to take on the role. Contrary to former reports, it has been reported that Amazon is eyeing Jacob Elordi , Tom Holland , and Harris Dickinson to take on the role. Although Elordi is Australian, that doesn't seem to be a problem here. Old fans favorites are like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Henry Cavill, and Idris Elba are reportedly unlikely to fit the bill due to their age. Amazon previously expressed their desire to bring Christopher Nolan on board to direct the next Bond film. However, as the director is now busy with his next film The Odyssey, starring Tom Holland, he won't be available for at least a year. Now the studio is reportedly focusing on hiring a screenwriter like Jonathan Nolan who impressed them with his series 'Fallout'. They are also reportedly impressed with his vision for the Bond franchise, but he is not unavailable because of other commitments. Villeneuve, who is Canadian, said he grew up watching Bond films with his father. "I'm a die-hard Bond fan. To me, he's sacred territory," Villeneuve said in a statement released by Amazon. "I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come," he added. "This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor." Amazon paid nearly $8.45 billion to buy legendary Hollywood studio MGM in 2022, which included distribution rights to Bond's extensive back catalog. But for the subsequent three years, the retail behemoth was met with resistance from Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, the franchise's historic producers who for decades had jealously guarded the governance of one of cinema's most valuable properties. The company run by Jeff Bezos finally reached a financial agreement with the pair in February to take creative control of the franchise.
