David Beckham thanks wife Victoria for their 'beautiful children' on their 26th wedding anniversary as he knowledges estranged son Brooklyn amid feud in gushing post - while the chef and wife Nicola Peltz share their own loved up snaps

Daily Maila day ago
thanked wife Victoria for their 'beautiful children' and acknowledged estranged son Brooklyn despite their ongoing feud, while celebrating the couple's 26th wedding anniversary on Friday.
The former footballer, 50, who also shares Romeo, 20, Cruz, 22, and Harper, 13, with the Spice Girl, 51, took to his Instagram with a slew of sweet throwback snaps of the family in happier times.
David and Victoria have reportedly become resigned to the fact that they have become estranged from their beloved eldest child, 26, after he failed to attend any of the football ace's 50th birthday celebrations in May.
He since has pledged allegiance to his wife Nicola Peltz's side of the family sharing snaps with her parents in recent weeks.
The England legend shared snaps from the couple's lavish 1999 wedding as well photos of the fashion designer cuddling up to their sons and daughter Harper who was still a baby at the time.
Declaring his love for Victoria, who he referred to as Lady Beckham following his Knighthood, David wrote: '26 years today you said YES to me Happy Anniversary and thank you for giving me our beautiful children and building the life that we have together I love you Lady Beckham @victoriabeckham'.
He then went on to tag his children including estranged son Brooklyn.
Meanwhile Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz, 30, seemingly snubbed the occasion as they took to Instagram with a slew of their own loved up snaps.
The heiress cosied up to her hunky husband as they playfully posed for the camera and gushed over their 'east coast summers'.
On Thursday Brooklyn's younger brother Romeo shared the cryptic words to his Instagram Story amid the family feud.
He wrote: 'Life is too short, love who you love and tell them how much you really do! Life can flash before your eyes at any moment!
'But the people that truly love you and care for you will always be there... Don't hold back from LOVE or APPRECIATION for ANYTHING OR ANYONE.'
It comes as new photographs of Brooklyn and his wife Nicola in a Moncler campaign recently emerged after the couple flew to London without telling his family.
It was made all the more painful for Posh and Becks because the shoot took place less than two weeks after they snubbed David's 50th birthday celebrations.
Declaring his love for Victoria, David tagged all his children including Brooklyn in the post
One source close to the Beckhams reveals how they distraught David and Victoria were that they didn't tell them they were coming from LA to London for the job.
'Brooklyn and Nicola didn't have the courtesy to tell any of the family they were coming back to London.
'While by that point they knew that the rift was irreparable, what about Cruz, what about Harper?
'There were no issues between those to and Brooklyn yet he travelled 5000 miles and didn't arrange to see anyone.'
The decision was regarded as 'disgracefully rude' by many in the Beckham circles.
And it gets worse for the Beckhams in the press release which accompanies the pictures. Brooklyn and Nicola undoubtedly rub salt into their parents very open wounds with their words.
'London holds so many memories for both of us,' they said in a joint statement.
'We first said 'I love you' here, so coming back always takes us back to that moment. When Moncler first brought up shooting this special campaign here, we were excited about the opportunity to bring the London vibe to life.'
There was, of course, no mention of David and Victoria, or Brooklyn's childhood in the capital.
Rumours of a rift between the eldest son and his parents began when Brooklyn was noticeably silent on his former Spice Girl mother's birthday, a far cry from his usual sweet posts about her.
Neither the former photographer nor his wife wished Victoria a happy 51st, while David, Romeo and Cruz posted gushing messages.
And as well as snubbing dad David's birthday online, he also was notably absent from all of his 50th birthday celebrations - including a boys' fishing trip.
Despite flying to London at the time, Brooklyn and Nicola also didn't attend the big family party at the Beckhams' Cotswolds home or an idyllic trip to France or a meal at Notting Hill restaurant, Core.
Brooklyn reportedly 'told his famous family that he wants no contact' with them last month in the latest devastating turn of their ongoing feud.
While a source close to Brooklyn denied the claims, a source told Page Six: 'Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he's not responding to those that try to connect.'
According to the publication, the eldest Beckham boy has had no communication with his family following father David's knighthood being announced last month and only learned of the news in the media alongside the rest of the world.
Denying he'd asked for no contact, a source close to Brooklyn told the publication: 'Everyone's focus should be David Beckham 's great honour'.
Romeo wrote in his post: 'Life is too short, love who you love and tell them how much you really do! Life can flash before your eyes at any moment!'
Meanwhile a source close to Brooklyn also denied the claims as they told MailOnline, 'this seems to be another deliberate attempt to misrepresent the truth, and it only serves to distract from this honor being bestowed on Brooklyn's father.'
MailOnline contacted David's reps for comment at the time.
But Brooklyn has proven that not all ties had been severed amid the family feud with his own birthday tribute to David's mum Sandra on her 76th birthday.
Sharing a throwback picture of him and his grandmother, he captioned: 'Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much.'
In his own post for his mum, David ensured absent son Brooklyn got a mention despite their widening rift.
The former Manchester United and England midfielder shared a carousel of photos featuring himself with mum Sandra from childhood to the present day.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: 'Happy birthday mum we love you so much I hope u have the best day. Thank you for always being there for us all. Love you.'
He rounded off the tribute by including the Instagram handles of various family members, among them younger sister Joanne and the retired footballer's three sons with wife Victoria - Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz.
Daughter Harper, at 13 too young for social media, was given a hashtag as he ended Thursday morning's tribute.

Steve Coogan says working class are being 'ethnically cleansed' as redevelopment of northern cities does not benefit blue-collar workers

Steve Coogan has suggested that working class people are being 'ethnically cleansed' amid the redevelopment of northern cities. The Alan Partridge actor, 59, argued that investment in sophisticated skyscrapers did not benefit blue-collar workers. After backing the Greens at the last election, Mr Coogan appeared on BBC Breakfast on Friday to endorse the co-operative movement, which encourages businesses to share its profits among its employees. He said: 'The problem with all these cities like Liverpool and Manchester is they've got all these big shiny buildings, but all the people who are disenfranchised have been ethnically cleansed from the area. They don't actually benefit. 'What the co-operative movement does is tries to keep that money in the area and empower people and try to mitigate and push back against the effects of big business.' Mr Coogan also hit out at Nigel Farage 's Reform party for peddling 'racist rhetoric'. 'If the Government want to stop Reform making all these gains, instead of dealing with the symptoms of the problem by leaning into the racist rhetoric of Reform, they can deal with that by helping working people and the best way of doing that is to support the Co-operative movement,' he added. The comedian, who backed Labour under Jeremy Corbyn in both 2017 and 2019, criticised the political fabric of the UK, accusing governments of prioritising the wealthiest members of society. He claimed the co-operative movement aims to shift the focus towards working people and would soften the blow of Labour's recent welfare cuts which, after a chaotic backbench rebellion, saw the health element of Universal Credit halved. Last minute concessions, however, meant that radical changes to personal independence payment (Pip) would be delayed until November 2026. Mr Coogan also argued that a key reason post-industrial areas are 'dying' is the dominance of large supermarket chains. He claimed the co-operative movement would ensure less money left the local economy, with profits reinvested into key projects in the area. The movement is believed to date back to the 18th century but rose to prominence after the successful co-op at the Rochdale Pioneers' Shop in 1844. Mr Coogan pointed out that the idea was birthed in the UK but he suggested that it has been making bigger gains in other parts of the world. Earlier this year, the comedian starred in a two-part drama, written by James Graham, about Margaret Thatcher's 1989 interview with Brian Walden. The star, who plays the former Labour MP turned London Weekend Television host, said that he had 'huge antipathy' for the former PM describing himself as 'very anti-Thatcher'. He told the Radio Times: 'The one thing that I was worried about in this drama was being too compassionate because of her legacy.' The actor even took exception to a scene written by Sherwood writer Mr Graham, 42, for being 'too kind' to the Iron Lady and said that she would now be diagnosed with a 'disorder'. Mr Coogan added: 'In fact, in the edit we cut something because I thought it was a bit too kind and we wanted to remind people that there was this damage... 'She had vision and zeal, but she lacked empathy. Now, she'd probably be diagnosed with some sort of disorder.'

Ammar Kalia's global album of the month

Since their formation in 2020, the Daytimers collective have been trying to establish a new imagining of British south-Asian music. Taking their name from the daytime parties held by second-generation immigrants in the late 80s and 90s, Daytimers have spent the past five years throwing raucous parties of their own, with residents such as Rohan Rakhit and Mahnoor mixing everything from jungle and Bollywood vocals with dubstep, grime instrumentals and Punjabi folk for a new generation born and raised in the UK. Following in the footsteps of their Asian underground forebears such as Nitin Sawhney and Talvin Singh, who mixed the sounds of 90s Britain with thesouth-Asian music they grew up listening to, Daytimers' latest compilation has 13 south-Asian producers remixing Bollywood hits from the Sony India catalogue with an eye on today's dancefloor culture. There is ample bass-weight across the record's 10 tracks, with German-Pakistani producer Zeeshan's take on the score of 2022 Tamil film Vikram transforming the original's keening vocal melody into a chipmunk snippet skittering over an ominous, growling bassline and siren-like synths. Daytimers co-founder Provhat, meanwhile, layers a thunderous jungle breakbeat over the wedding classic Suraj Hua Maddham – sure to turn receptions into raves – and Rea's take on Anirudh Ravichander's Dippam Dappam flips the cinema standard into a rumbling Afro-house groove. While certain edits work less well – with Baalti's take on AR Rahman's Tere Bina merely speeding up the original over two-step drum programming and Zenjah and Mrii's version of Where's the Party Tonight struggling to wrangle the kitsch, Vengaboys-style vocal of the 2006 Bollywood original into a UK garage groove – the majority of the album produces remarkable rearrangements. Reframing this nostalgic cinema music for the modern dancefloor, Alterations proves there is still plenty of space for future generations of diaspora artists to celebrate and find inspiration in their heritage. Ugandan rapper MC Yallah's second album with Berlin producer Debmaster, Gaudencia (Hakuna Kulala), is typically abrasive and full of irrepressible energy. Employing a languorous flow over Debmaster's growling beats, Yallah spits venomously on Muchaka while showcasing scatter-gun dexterity on highlight Kekasera. Iraqi vocalist Hamid al-Saadi's first record of traditional maqam music in over 25 years, Maqam Al-Iraq (Maqam Records), is a delight. Soaring over intricate santour lines, Saadi's sprawling, 20-minute compositions expand on a centuries-old tradition through his indefatigable voice. Syrian producer Khaled Kurbeh releases the ambient electronic album Likulli Fadāin Eqāéh (Research Records). Whispers of guitar strumming and washes of melody create an imaginative and sometimes ominous palette – a sense of beauty bordering on dread. This article was amended on 4 July to correct Zeeshan's nationality from British to German-Pakistani.

MEL B cut a stylish figure in leopard print trousers, while spotted on the phone ahead of her wedding. The singing star's ceremony is set to take place today at St Paul's Cathedral. 5 5 5 And ahead of her big day with Rory McPhee, Mel was seen rocking leopard print - a trademark look for the star. Mel was surrounded by a group of people and seen chatting away on the phone donning casual attire. Scary Spice opted for a white top and sliders, and donned large sunglasses and a cap as she chatted outside her luxury London hotel. Her appearance comes after it was revealed that 51-year-old Victoria Beckham won't be attending the nuptials. But making sure that Mel feels the love, she shared an Instagram tribute post ahead of her big day with Rory. Posh Spice took to her Instagram stories to share a stunning snap of her and her bandmate looking all glammed up. She added the sweet caption: "Sending love to you @officialmelb! "@rorymcphee is a very lucky man! xx." Victoria, as well as fellow bandmate Geri, won't be at the ceremony. Mel B's hen do celebrations The MailOnline originally told how Victoria would be out of the country and therefore would not be present to watch Mel walk down the aisle. A source said: "Victoria has long standing plans out of the country and she simply can't be there. "She adores Mel, they get on really well despite their paths going in opposite directions. It's a real shame. "There is no issue between them, they haven't fallen out. It's just one of those things." Meanwhile Geri is said to be absent because of her tense relationship with Mel. The two women had a pretty big falling out when Mel B revealed that she had an intimate relationship with Geri when the band was starting out. Mel made the confession while she was being interviewed for Piers Morgan 's Life Stories in 2019. Geri was stunned and upset by Mel's admission, and even more saddened when Mel allegedly did not issue an apology. 5 5
