Test-Driving The 2025 Nissan Armada

Forbes03-06-2025

The first Armada hit dealerships when George W. was President and Facebook had just launched, not to rub its age in. It's still the poster child for when people talk about dinosaur-sized SUVs in a positive or negative way.
Featuring an unmistakably rugged design, the first-ever Armada PRO-4X — the most capable in model ... More history — tackles the toughest terrains with effortless capability.
But fan or foe, the handsome, redesigned 2025 Arvada does what it does very well, and if your aim is a sublime, smooth ride, this is it. It's also gotten one of the most radical and smart-looking overhauls it's ever had this year.
Visually, the 2025 Armada is more modern and squared-off than before, and the result is a plush-looking big guy, 'big' meaning 209.6 inches long and over 83 inches wide, with all the presence you can imagine. Curb weight ranges from about 5,677 to just under 5,900 pounds, depending on trim and options. It features new LED lighting, a tall, upright grille, and more sculpted sheet metal by the acre.
2025 Nissan Armada Pro-X Cockpit
The interior gets a massive ramp-up with the redesign. Go for the top trims and you'll get quilted leather seats, contrast stitching, massaging front seats and a panoramic sunroof. Second-row captain's chairs are optional and will drop seating from eight to seven, but even the third row can fit (not-large) adults on short trips. The fit and finish are much improved over prior models, with soft-touch surfaces throughout.
2025 Nissan Armada
Techwise, Nissan's leveled up with front and center twin 14.3-inch displays - one for the digital gauge cluster and one for infotainment. Google Built-In is included, bringing you native Maps, Assistant and Play Store functionality.
There's also a rich-sounding Klipsch 12-speaker premium audio system as well as a wireless phone charger and multiple USB-C ports scattered throughout the cabin. A built-in dash cam, trailer brake controller and up to seven drive modes are available.
2025 Nissan Armada
Under the hood, that new V6 delivers strong numbers but don't expect a hybrid or electric version just yet. Fuel economy is rated at 16 mpg city and 20 mpg highway in 2WD models, but it's a slight improvement over the previous V8's figures and real-world drivers are reporting closer to 17–18 mpg combined.
Available trims are the SV, SL, Platinum, PRO-4X and my tester, the Platinum Reserve. Check them all out here.
Nissan
On the road, the Armada pulls like a freight train and it takes some getting used to, but even a small or short person can handle it just fine. Acceleration is sweetly effortless and merging onto the highway feels more like a sport sedan than a lumbering SUV. Brakes are strong as well as easy to modulate - you don't need a heavy foot.
2025 Nissan Armada
Handling is still truck-like but body roll is controlled and steering is light, making it ideal for long-distance or cross-country cruising. Ride comfort is excellent. It's a pleasure to drive and can feel like a nice sanctuary during inclement weather or when you've had it up to here with people and just want a lovely drive with a great sound system.
Nissan includes Safety Shield 360 as standard, bringing automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and more. It has earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation, making it one of the safest choices in its class.
The new infotainment system can lag occasionally. Also, while the Armada is huge inside, its cargo space behind the third row still trails some rivals.
Conclusion: For fans of heavy, mighty-mighty vehicles, it really doesn't get much better.

Jake Paul drops $39 million on Georgia's iconic Southlands ranch

Professional boxer, social media influencer and content creator Jake Paul has bought the sprawling Southlands property just south of Bainbridge, Georgia, for $39 million. Paul, during an interview on the "The Iced Coffee Hour" podcast in mid-June, said he's been wanting to purchase a ranch for the last 15 years, according to 'It's kind of been my dream and why I work so hard," said Paul. He added the 5,746-acre estate was '… a little bit bigger than what I wanted, but when I got there, I was like, 'I have to buy this.' ' Paul, 28, is known for his brash commentary on YouTube and other social media platforms and co-stars alongside his brother, Logan Paul, in "Paul American," a reality show that premiered in March 2025 and offers a peek into their family life outside of the boxing and wrestling ring. Logan Paul is a pro wrestler and social media maven. More celebrity real estate: NBA star Kevin Durant's custom Oklahoma City townhome hits the market at $35 In November 2024, Paul went head-to-head against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, 58, and defeated the veteran fighter in a unanimous decision. He was initially slated to receive $40 million for beating the retired boxer. The 5,653-acre property surrounds the eastern shore of Lake Seminole, just above the Florida panhandle, and was listed in October 2024 for $42.5 million. It features a "sport huntsman's paradise with an abundance of bobwhite wild quail, turkey and whitetail deer. It also includes a 20-acre fishing pond and a 30-acre duck pond," as previously reported in the Tallahassee Democrat, part of the USA TODAY Network. Jon Kohler, an expert in large plantation properties in the southeast, said there are few investments that can build "long-term wealth like owning a property such as Southlands." "While we can see the financial appreciation, what only the seller can measure is the immense intrinsic value – the lifestyle, the experiences, the memories. That's the most important kind of wealth. And that's what Southlands will create for Jake, his family, and his friends," said Kohler, in a statement. In a Facebook post announcing the purchase, Kohler described the property as "one of America's most iconic sporting properties." "From its roots with Herbert Stoddard, a legacy dating back to 1937, to its years as International Paper's flagship property, Southlands has long been a crown jewel of American land stewardship – and with Jake Paul's passion and commitment to conservation, its future has never been brighter," the post said. This Growth Stock Has Soared 8x Over the Last 10 Years -- and It's Still a Screaming Buy

Meta Platforms' advertising success has enabled it to deliver impressive gains. The stock should have tremendous growth prospects over the next 10 years, thanks largely to AI. Meta faces regulatory and competitive challenges, but should remain a winner for investors. These 10 stocks could mint the next wave of millionaires › What would you consider to be an attractive return on investment? Fifteen percent annual returns? Or maybe 20%? Plenty of stocks can deliver such gains over the short term. But doing it over a longer stretch thins out the herd considerably. However, I can think of one growth stock that has been an even bigger winner. Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) has soared 8x over the last 10 years, translating to a compound annual growth rate of around 23%. Even better, this high-flying stock is still a screaming buy with the potential to go much higher. I can sum up the reason for Meta's huge gains over the last decade in one word: eyeballs. The company's family of apps -- primarily Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp -- continues to attract an increasing number of users. And those users represent a massive audience that advertisers want to reach. In March 2025, an average of 3.43 billion people used at least one of Meta's four key apps daily. Two things stand out to me about this number. First, it represents nearly 42% of the world's population. Second, it's 6% higher than the level from the first quarter of 2024. This audience is becoming increasingly valuable to advertisers, too. Meta's average price per ad rose by 10% year over year in the first quarter of this year. The combination of more users and higher ad prices helped grow the company's revenue in Q1 by 16% year over year. On a constant-currency basis, that growth would have been 19%. And there's more. Meta has focused on improving profitability even while investing heavily in research and development for its Reality Labs segment. Over the last 10 years, the company's earnings on a trailing 12-month basis have skyrocketed by roughly 2,330%. I think Meta Platforms stock is still a screaming buy because the company has tremendous growth prospects over the next 10 years. Much of this growth will come from advertising. Meta is using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve its ability to target the customers that will be most interested in products offered by advertisers. The company's goal is to develop agentic AI that can handle the entire advertising process -- from creating ads to targeting prospective customers -- and deliver greater returns on investment. Expanding the audience for those advertisers is another major priority. Threads, Meta's newest social media app, is one way it's achieving this objective. The app now has more than 350 million monthly active users. Meta is also focused on creating more engaging experiences that attract and retain users. It's deploying AI to generate content that's personalized for users, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg thinks that interactive content will be available in the near future. I also predict that Meta's smart (internet-connected) devices will become increasingly important to its success over the next decade. AI glasses could be the game changer on this front. Zuckerberg said in Meta's Q1 earnings call, "Glasses are the ideal form factor for both AI and the metaverse. They enable you to let an AI see what you see, hear what you hear, and talk to you throughout the day." He added, "More than a billion people worldwide wear glasses today, and it seems highly likely that these will become AI glasses over the next 5 to 10 years." Two main obstacles could get in the way of Meta being the winner that I think it will be in the coming years. First, regulatory agencies in various countries could slow Meta's growth. For example, the European Commission recently announced that the company's subscription for its no-advertising model isn't compliant with the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Meta plans to appeal this decision. However, it could still be forced to modify its model somewhat to comply with DMA, and this could hurt the company's European revenue growth. Second, Meta faces stiff competition. The company has benefited to some extent from TikTok's troubles in the U.S., but TikTok remains a formidable rival. Several companies with deep pockets are also targeting AI glasses, including Alphabet's Google and Apple. There's no guarantee that Meta will be as successful as I expect in this market. However, Meta has dealt with regulatory and competitive challenges pretty well in the past. I suspect it will continue to do so in the future. Although I wouldn't bet on another 8x gain over the next 10 years, this growth stock should still deliver impressive returns. Ever feel like you missed the boat in buying the most successful stocks? Jim Cramer Says Stay Away from This High-Yield Dividend Stock

Jim Cramer was asked about payments and data company Deluxe Corporation (NYSE: DLX) in a recent program. Here is what he said: "You said it right. They have been talking diversification for as long as I can remember. They came on the show once. They have an 8% yield. That means that something's very wrong. When you get a yield that's well above all the others, it's not good. I'm going to have to say X-nay Deluxe Corp (NYSE:DLX) . I wish they had been able to—one of the great growth stocks of the '80s." While we acknowledge the potential of DLX as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk.
