Iconic EastEnders star is unrecognisable four decades on from soap debut - ditching 'punk' style for VERY different look
Mary 'the Punk' Smith, played by Linda Davidson, featured in the serial drama's original cast when it first aired back in 1985.
She was a single mother to her daughter Annie and viewers saw the complicated character struggle to raise her child and earn money all while sporting her distinctive style.
From becoming a prostitute to various failed romances, Mary had several controversial storylines before she left the show in 1988.
Linda reprised the role in 2019 when she attended the funeral of fellow original cast member Dr Harold Legg and again in 2022 for Dot Cotton's funeral.
However, 40 years on from her debut appearance on the soap, Linda's appearance has changed drastically.

She has ditched the edgy punk style that Mary became so renowned for.
Instead of the dark, long spiky hair and thick eyeliner she wore in EastEnders, Linda has a sleek, blonde pixie cut.
Now reportedly running her own social media agency and working in web design, Linda wears classy red lipstick and smart suits instead of Mary's leather jackets.
Linda previously opened up to Christine Lampard about her time on the soap during an interview on ITV's Lorraine.
Looking back on Mary's stint on the Square Linda revealed that they never expected to the soap to grow into the TV institution it is today.
'We were all contracted for six months and the BBC called it a bi-weekly drama, so we didn't know we were in a soap until all the press went out, all of a sudden they started calling it a soap and we said oh my god we're in a soap!' she said.
'She was a fantastic character to play and she was really well written, she came about because [creator] Tony Holland was walking in the East End and he saw a young woman pushing a pram with a mohawk and a miniskirt.
'It was such a poignant image of a young woman with such an aggressive look but such love for her child and so she created the character based on that image.'
Linda also told Christine that in recent years she decided to give up acting to focus on a career in technology, having also worked as a writer for BBC websites and Tomorrow's World.
She added: 'I carried on acting for years, so I was writing for Tomorrow's World and they were launching something called a website and I got engulfed with the power of communication and I had a conversation with June [Brown who plays Dot Cotton] she's been so generous with her love and time for me, but I said I think I'm going to stop acting and do this thing.'
When asked whether she would consider reprising her role as Mary long-term, Linda admitted: 'I absolutely loved it, but my current fantasy is that Annie her daughter goes back into it full time, and Mary pops back in for a cup of tea every now and again, then I wouldn't have to give up my job!'

Artist creates Ed Sheeran mural in Ipswich shopping centre
A Suffolk artist has paid tribute to a musician with a shopping centre mural which has taken two days to complete. Keith Hopewell, from Suffolk, spent more than seven hours painting the mural of Ed Sheeran which features in Buttermarket Ipswich. Sheeran, who grew up in the county, is scheduled to play three homecoming gigs at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich on 11, 12 and 13 July. Mr Hopewell said: "He has so much respect within the local community. They see him as a big role model and icon." With the work taking two days to complete, the artist said there had been some challenges to getting it finished. "All this really hard sunlight comes down on it, it's really hard to paint with these hard shadows."It's like being under a green house in this glass ceiling," he said. Real ale fan's world record pub crawl surpasses 24,000 bars
A real ale fan who has spent more than 40 years on the world's longest pub crawl has reached his 24,000th establishment. Peter Hill and his friends vowed to broaden their drinking horizons in 1984 and have since travelled 400,000 miles in search of new pubs. The West Bromwich-based Black Country Ale Tairsters have cemented their place in the record books by ticking off every pub in Wales, having a pint on 69 islands around the UK and visiting an average of 11 pubs every week. Mr Hill, who toasted his 69th birthday by raising a glass in the Elephant & Castle, in Dudley last month, said the pub crawl had been a 'great adventure'. He said: 'I'm not sure if I'll ever stop, as I still really enjoy it. There's still hundreds of pubs to go, so I'll keep on going while I can. 'There's a little group of us who go, the numbers have gone up and down as people have got married, sometimes I just go by myself. 'We used to get a little drunk in the early days but it's more of a mature hobby now and I always take it easy and pace myself. We don't drink to excess.' The group was formed 41 years ago when they set out to visit 300 pubs listed on a map handed out by the local Banks brewery in Wolverhampton. After completing the feat, the friends decided to carry on with the added incentive of raising money for charity – devising challenges each one more ambitious than the last. Mr Hill has kept 280 arch-lever files logging every pub, including pictures, menus and other memorabilia. The retired engineer said: 'We just got a bit bored of going to the same old place and it was my dad's idea to start visiting 300 from a Bank's map of Wolverhampton pubs. 'Then we sort of said 'shall we get to 1,000?' Then it was 2,000, then 3,000 and it just never stopped from there. 'We set a world record for the longest pub crawl but it was never about that. I'm just enjoying my life while trying to raise a bit of money for charity. 'I prefer the old-fashioned traditional boozers, just a couple of rooms and a warm welcome is very important.' Mr Hill has raised £35,000 for good causes over the years, including his local children's hospital and the Air Ambulance. When Mr Hill and co reached their 20,000th pub in 2017 they set a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Pub Crawl. 'Its sad to see so many pubs struggling, the price of the beer doesn't help – you can pay £7 a pint and even over a tenner for some of these fancy craft ales,' he said, adding: 'I'm trying to do my bit to keep the pub scene alive. 'I'll keep going until the beer runs out.'
