Brodie Ryan breaks silence on 'horrible' split with AFL star Nathan Buckley: 'The heartbreak is real'
The healthcare professional admitted that she was left heartbroken by the split but is looking toward the future.
'The first few months were hard, and break-ups are always horrible,' the 36-year-old told the Herald Sun on Wednesday.
'Time heals all wounds. The heartbreak is real, but we'll both be okay.'
Brodie said that she was 'resuming her normal life' but sad that her dreams of being a 'housewife' have been dashed.

'I wanted that responsibility and revelled in that of being a housewife and a little family's support, but unfortunately it didn't end the way I'd hoped' she said.
Brodie added that her life now was a 'little more stress-free with a little less pressure and less responsibility.'
In May, Brodie revealed she'll be moving out of the Melbourne home she purchased with Buckley, following their split.
The brunette revealed in an emotional Instagram post that she is leaving the bayside suburb of Elwood altogether.
Brodie shared an image as she enjoyed a glass of wine at the local tavern.
'End of an era. Sad to say goodbye to my favourite little community of Elwood,' she captioned the post.
Brodie and Nathan purchased a property together in the highly sought-after suburb and moved into the home in June last year.
Her post came just hours after Brodie announced the pair have decided to part ways, while Nathan still remains silent on the breakup.
'To the followers of the 'Brodes and Bucks' journey,' the former WAG began.
'After much reflection and consideration, Nath and I have decided to part ways,' she continued.
'Thank you for your kind messages and support over the past couple of months of heartache. I am truly grateful for your kindness and consideration.
'This decision was not made lightly, and we are grateful for the time we shared, the memories we created, and the support we received from each other and all of you.
'While we will no longer be a couple, I will always respect Nathan and the friendship that developed between us 3-4 years ago and have a lot of love for him and his boys and our beautiful dog Tank.'
Brodie concluded: 'We appreciate your understanding and kindness over the past couple of months and continuing through this transition period.
'We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter in our lives. Thank you for your continued support and for being a part of our journey. With respect and gratitude, Brodie.'
The sad ending came just months after the pair took their relationship to the next level by recently jetting off to the island paradise of Fiji for a very special family occasion.
'It's a big family holiday with all of Nath's family,' Ryan told the Herald Sun at the Australian Open.
It was not the couple's first getaway, they've enjoyed several mini-breaks so far on homegrown soil.
'We've been to the New South Wales coast in the... campervan, we've been to Eildon, Fairhaven, Sorrento and we'll also be going to Queensland,' she told the publication at the time.
Brodie previously revealed she and Nathan connected over their similar upbringings, after they began dating in 2022.
Despite their 17-year age gap, the Melbourne businesswoman said they have so much in common and that they push each other every day to be their best selves.
'Helping others be the best version of themselves and prioritising their mental health and wellbeing and giving back to others is a passion both Nath and I have always shared. These topics were a big attraction to each in the beginning,' she said.
'We had very similar upbringings and share a lot of the same values due to this,' she continued.
'I have always been enthusiastic about helping others where I can, and to have a partner that exercises this same passion every day with his family, friends, and the wider community inspires me.'
Brodie said Nathan's public profile has given him the opportunity to help others through hardships and to give back, and that she is 'inspired' by the work he does.

Don't ask what Sally Hawkins keeps in the freezer
There are the horror movies that make you jump out of your skin and there are the horror movies that get under your skin and stay there. The Australian film-making brothers Danny and Michael Philippou were responsible for the extremely well-made Talk to Me (2023) — a séance-gone-awry shocker full of horrifying images of self-harm and the squelchiest sound design of any film in recent memory. You couldn't look away from the screen because then it was somehow worse. Now they are back with something similar — Bring Her Back is a tale of grief and dread with horrifying images of self-harm and squelchy sound design — all wrapped around a modern-day version of Hansel and Gretel. The witch of the story is a former child counsellor named Laura (Sally Hawkins) who lives in a cabin in the woods. Decorated in cheerful, hippy-dippy colours, it has a taxidermied dog, a mysterious chalk circle and an empty swimming pool in which Laura lost her daughter to drowning. Now she keeps a little feral boy (Jonah Wren Phillips), shaven-headed and mute, locked in a room. You don't want to know what she keeps in the freezer. All this would surely constitute enough red flags to set any foster agency on high alert (has nobody learnt the lesson from Psycho about taxidermied animals?), but the film's secret weapon is Hawkins, from Mike Leigh's Happy Go Lucky and Paddington. Dressed in reassuring knits, she rabbits away in a stream-of-consciousness fashion that pushes her flaky persona to the edge of unsettling and cloaks her trespasses with a chipper smile. The latest unsuspecting adoptees to come under her care are 17-year-old Andy (Billy Barratt) and his younger, partially sighted sister, Piper (Sora Wong), who have been assigned to Laura after the death of their father. Everyone seems to be grieving somebody. As with Talk to Me, you're not sure whether you're in for a horrorfest or a counselling marathon. What we get is a mix of the two — a marathon of gaslighting — as Andy smells a rat and Laura does everything she can to turn his sister against him. • The best films of 2025 so far Disappointingly, the film is far more interested in Andy than Piper, who is exploited for traditional blind-girl-in-peril frights. The idea that she is slower than her brother to notice Laura's evil vibe is unimaginative to say the least: wouldn't her sixth sense be more developed? I would have loved to have seen a film from her point of view, blur and all. True, she cannot see the grainy snatches of video that Laura has on repeat in her living room that tip us off to the horrifying ritual to come. You want to look away and you don't dare because, as with Talk to Me, the greatest shocks are delivered by the sound engineer Emma Bortignon's sound mix, one that goes way beyond the stabbed watermelons of countless horror films. Get ready to be excruciated by the sound of kitchen knife on gums, and teeth on splintering wood. You cannot say you haven't been warned.★★★★☆18, 104min August will go down as the month Pedro Pascal earned his movie star spurs. He's in three films this summer, starting with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Matt Shakman's reboot of the Marvel comic book, in which Pascal plays Reed Richards, the elasticated superhero at the head of a family of superheroes, including Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), who has a baby on the way. Can they juggle saving the world with childcare? Will the baby also be superpowered? Will they need extra-strong diapers? Does this set-up sound the teensiest bit familiar? Set in a retro 1960s world of chrome and neon, Fantastic Four: First Steps is probably best thought of as an intermittently entertaining live-action remake of Brad Bird's 2004 classic, The Incredibles. (Shakman even nabbed Michael Giacchino for the score.) The film is at its best in the first 20 minutes when it introduces everyone — with the Human Torch, Johnny Storm, coming in handy during a power cut, and Sue Storm making herself invisible to provide her own ultrasound. Her greatest trick, though — probably the film's best moment — is giving birth in zero gravity while escaping the pull of a black hole, which makes the real-time childbirth that Kirby enacted for Pieces of a Woman (2020) look like a walk in the park. • Read more film reviews, guides about what to watch and interviews But oh dear, the plot, which follows the time-honoured Marvel two-step: introduce the villain, then kill time for two hours waiting for him to arrive and play wrecking ball with New York. The villain is a lumbering galactic deity named Galactus (Ralph Ineson), who plans to destroy Earth unless the four hand over little baby Franklin. As a plot idea this is something of a nonstarter, involving a lot of tedious wrangling from which no one — not the Fantastic Four, nor the people of Earth demanding the baby's sacrifice — comes out looking good. The climactic bout is a ferocious yawn. Neighbours star returning to acting 35 years after quitting Aussie soap in new role alongside Kym Marsh
DANNII Minogue is returning to acting 35 years after she left Aussie soap Home and Away. The former X factor judge and singer, 53, is starring in glamorous Channel 5 drama Imposter opposite ex- Corrie actress Kym Marsh, 49. 8 8 8 Dannii, younger sister to pop icon Kylie, 57, has already started filming the four part series in Victoria, Australia. The Succession-like plot centres around a twisted family betrayal and a murder and is set in a seaside family hotel. This is also with Neighbours 'Susan Kennedy' icon Jackie Woodburne, 69, starring as the matriarch. A source said: "Bosses have spent weeks trying to get Dannii and she finally put pen to paper just days before filming started. "It's been decades since she's acted on the small screen and everyone at the channel is over the moon that she was able to make the dates work because she loved the script. "She started filming last week after meeting her fellow cast members." Dannii portrayed the troubled teen Emma Jackson on Home and Away from 1989 to 1990. She currently presents the LGBTQ BBC dating shows, I Kissed a Boy and I Kissed a Girl. The source continued: "Dannii has been wanting a return to acting for a long time but hadn't found the right role. "But then Channel 5 came along with Imposter and she instantly knew the role would be perfect for her acting comeback." They added: "Her character will be one of the suspects in the murder, as the family all fight it out over the family empire. Kylie Minogue Before she hit the big time with her music career, Kylie shot to fame playing Charlene Mitchell on Neighbours. Jason Donovan After his stint as Scott, singer and actor Jason became an international popstar and had his pick acting of roles.
