Hugh Bowman fancies inside draw for Sunlight Power in Kowloon Tong Club Trophy
Hugh Bowman is confident Ricky Yiu Poon-fai's quality galloper Sunlight Power will relish another inside draw when he chases a third win this season in Saturday's Class Two Kowloon Tong Club Trophy (1,600m) at Sha Tin.
The Australian jockey hops aboard Sunlight Power for the second time after his fast-finishing third to Hong Kong Derby (2,000m) hope Johannes Brahms last start.
Two starts ago, the Capitalist gelding capitalised on a soft run from barrier one to cruise to victory in another Class Two mile under Zac Purton.
With Yiu's Group Three winner Nimble Nimbus dropping in class to head the weights on Saturday, Sunlight Power also has the advantage of dropping four pounds on his last run to carry 126.

'He does have a little bit of a tendency to lay in slightly under pressure, but he's a very genuine horse and his form is very consistent,' Bowman said of the five-time winner.
'With a perfect draw this weekend, we should get a lovely run and [he can] make his presence felt.'
Sunlight Power boasts the strongest recent form in an even Class Two field that also features The Golden Scenery, Ramadan, Karma, Voyage Samurai, Woodfire Bro, Tourbillon Prince and Yiu's stayer Awesome Fluke.
He is one of several strong chances for Bowman on Saturday's card, with Sky Trust another key hope for the 44-year-old in the Class Three Cosmos Handicap (1,400m).
The Caspar Fownes-trained Sky Trust drops back in trip after running 12th behind Rubylot in the Classic Cup (1,800m).
'I thought his run, although well-beaten, was actually unbelievable last start,' Bowman said.
'He jumped well and didn't settle, so I let him gallop down the back straight but, even though three-wide, he got into a really sweet rhythm on the bend and it was no surprise to see him pick up into the straight. I was surprised at how long he sustained his gallop, having behaved the way he did in the early and middle stages.
'So, back in trip is a huge advantage to him and the horse is in great form. He's a big horse so he'll certainly be able to carry [135 pounds].'
A two-time winner and four-time runner-up this season, Sky Trust will clash with exciting three-year-old Sky Jewellery, who has won two of his three starts with Bowman on board.
'I did have the choice and Sky Jewellery is a just a little bit light for me with 123 pounds – [a] very exciting young horse,' Bowman said.
'I think Sky Jewellery still has a bit of developing to do. Last start, he got a bit lost when he turned into the home straight and he dropped the bridle, but his class shone the last 100m. Up in class, he'll have to improve but he's certainly got the improvement in him.'
Brenton Avdulla will ride Sky Jewellery for the first time.

Earlier on the card, Bowman will have top claims on John Size's brilliant debut winner Crossborderpegasus in the Class Four Azalea Handicap (1,200m).
The Rich Enuff three-year-old backed up his strong trial form to score at the course and distance when eased down late by Bowman last month.
Volcanic Spark also has a solid chance for Bowman and Yiu in the Class Four Association Of Hong Kong Racing Journalists Challenge Cup (1,800m) after a close second to Billionaire Secret last start.
Fairy Horse, Strongest Boy, Thunder Prince, Monarch County and Helene Warrior are Bowman's other rides.

The 33-year-old is hoping a drop in distance will be a masterstroke by Caspar Fownes Harry Bentley is relishing the chance to get on board the unexposed Lo Rider in the Class Two Hong Kong Reunification Cup (1,400m) at Sha Tin on Tuesday as he looks to end the season on a high. The Harzand galloper was last seen running a massive race to finish fourth in the Hong Kong Derby (2,000m) back in March, defying odds of $19. Ridden that day by Hugh Bowman, he set out to make all the running and only begrudgingly gave up the lead at the 200m pole, ultimately finishing less than two lengths behind Cap Ferrat. While he is yet to break through from six starts in Hong Kong, Lo Rider was a two-time winner in Ireland when known as Sharinay and went close to a win when a neck second to Steps Ahead at Sha Tin in February. 'He's a good ride to have picked up, there's no question about that,' said Bentley. 'I think he's in this class as well. Obviously he's dropping in trip, which is something to consider. 'But he's definitely a great ride to have picked up from Caspar and looks to be a very competitive runner. 'Having not had any experience on the horse up until this point, I can't hand on heart say whether he'll love the drop in distance. Clearly Caspar thinks it's the right option and I totally trust his judgment. 'He's a really solid horse bringing good form into the race and he has a light weight too – he has to be considered.' Bentley has six rides on Tuesday's programme, including a pair of debutants, but he is particularly hopeful in the chances of Happy Universe in the Class Four Riding High Together Handicap (1,600m). The Jimmy Ting Koon-ho-trained five-year-old was a dual winner in New Zealand but is yet to add to his tally in Hong Kong, though it is not through a lack of trying. The Zacinto galloper has finished second on two occasions, most recently over Tuesday's course and distance back in April where he was only beaten a length. British-born Bentley is in his fourth full season in Hong Kong and sits on the 30-winner mark for the campaign. Matching his career-best haul of 39 winners is a bridge too far this campaign, but the 33-year-old is satisfied with another solid season that he hopes he can end on a successful note. 'Obviously you're always striving for more but I'm happy enough to get 30 winners up,' said Bentley. 'I'll just keep getting my head down and hopefully add to that tally before the season is up.'

Frankie Lor fancies Horsepower down in trip and weight in Class One sprint

A three-time winner from five starts in his first Hong Kong season, the former Australian galloper drops back to the minimum trip after failing on his first attempt at 1,200m last start. Champion jockey Zac Purton told stewards that Horsepower raced too keenly in the early and middle stages and refused to settle when ninth to Kaholo Angel at Happy Valley. While Lor hasn't given up on the Harry Angel gelding running a strong six furlongs in the future, he has high hopes that the return to the course and distance of his victory in February will work the oracle. 'I asked Zac to just jump and relax. They were going quick early and he asked the horse to go with them and then he pulled,' Lor said of Horsepower's recent defeat. In-form Harry Bentley keen to carry momentum to Happy Valley after Flying Sha Tin finish
Harry Bentley heads to Happy Valley on Wednesday night in strong form and in the midst of one of his best months of the season after snaring Sunday night's Sha Tin finale aboard Flying Fortress. Flying Fortress' victory in a hot Class Three Amethyst Handicap (1,400m) was Bentley's fourth for June and left him on the verge of breaking into the top 10 in the jockeys' premiership with 29 successes for the season. 'It was a great result. He's been running well, obviously having won a couple of starts back over the Valley 1,650m, but I think it was a good move bringing him back down to 1,400m at Sha Tin,' said Bentley of Cody Mo Wai-kit's four-year-old, who finished strongly to see off a string of more-fancied rivals and defy his $33.75 quote. 'He's not fiercely keen or anything over 1,650m but he can just slightly take a grip and perhaps use a bit too much energy in doing so. The pace over 1,400m really suited him and he battled it out well. But fair play to the horse, he won with no fluke so it gives me a bit of confidence going forward. 'I'm pleased to be able to keep a bit of momentum going the past few weeks and months.' Among Bentley's chances of maintaining that momentum at the midweek meeting are Danny Shum Chap-shing's last-start winner Wrote A New Page in the Class Four Lancashire Handicap (1,650m) and the Me Tsui Yu-sak-trained Everstar, who looks to build on a recent placing in the Class Three Selkirk Handicap (1,200m). That's not going to be an issue. He's certainly progressing and the trip suits him well. He stays out the distance easily and he can get further. 'Everstar is probably my next best ride. He's another horse who is pretty consistent and doesn't seem to get beaten too far. He ran well last time from a good gate and I'd expect him to run another decent race off that low weight [of 118lb] and with gate five.' Bentley has seven meetings to add to his 29 wins so far this campaign, with the jockey happy enough with a season that has featured a Group Three victory aboard Helene Feeling but hasn't quite reached the heights of last term, which saw the 33-year-old bag his best Hong Kong win tally of 39. 'I would have loved a few more wins than I've had. I'm always striving to get the tally up. Overall I'm pretty happy but there's definitely room for improvement for next season,' he said.
