McCandless takes center stage for "How To Rob a Bank" film shoot
Residents may have seen crew members in McCandless as part of the "How To Rob a Bank" film shoot, which has been taking place throughout the Pittsburgh region in recent weeks.
Monday's shoot took the crew to SSB Bank along Perry Highway.
The Amazon MGM Studios flick is the latest feature film from director David Leitch, who has directed "Deadpool 2," "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw," and "Bullet Train," among others. His latest film's cast will feature Pete Davidson, Zoë Kravitz, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai and Rhenzy Feliz.
Co-stars Hoult and Sawai even took part in Sunday's festivities at PNC Park, with Hoult throwing out the first pitch before the Pirates' game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Production began in the Pittsburgh area in mid-June and is scheduled to run through August.
The movie is set to release in September 2026, according to Movie Casting PGH.

Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin steps into the horror genre for the first time in his latest film, "Weapons," playing a father desperate for answers after several children, including his own, mysteriously vanish. Describing his character, Brolin said he is "a victim of their circumstances" and a man who wants control. "He doesn't have his kid. And then he realizes what he was not giving his kid, which was affection and time and presence," Brolin said. The film explores masculinity, a theme Brolin wanted to confront. "I loved the idea of confronting masculinity like that," he said. "We all live by that says we don't do anything and we don't smile and we don't laugh, we don't cry and all this kind of stuff, and you go have the thing that you care most about be taken away from you." Brolin, known for blockbuster roles like Thanos in Marvel's "Avengers" films and for "Dune," said he chose the role as a creative challenge. "You choose these roles and you go, 'How can I be challenged? How can I continue to?'" after 41 years in the industry, he said. Though new to horror as an actor, Brolin said the genre shaped his childhood. "It's also a genre I have not really been involved with," he said, adding that he liked "the idea of not knowing if I can do something." He stayed away from horror projects while raising his children, but he grew up watching "Friday the 13th" and "The Blob," inspired by his mother, who "loved horror films and read a lot of like true crime books." "Weapons" opens in theaters and IMAX on Friday.

Amazon CEO ‘Cannot Wait' to Start Denis Villeneuve's James Bond Movie
Amazon can already hear the strains of John Barry's iconic theme paired with that gun barrel shot — the one to which Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig have all leant their figures. CEO Andy Jassey said on a July 31 call (which highlighted his company's better-than-expected Q3 earning) that 'James Bond is in the hands of one of today's greatest filmmakers,' and adding, 'We cannot wait to get started on 007's next adventure.' Jassey is referring to none other than Denis Villeneuve, who was announced in June as the next director to take on the franchise — which already has 25 official releases in its canon. Villeneuve will have the unique position of being the first steward to not be collaborating with the Broccoli family, which has overseen every Bond movie since 'Dr. No' in 1962.
