
Body of teen found in abandoned vehicle in southern Alberta
Police are investigating after the body of a 16-year-old girl was found in southern Alberta.
On Friday, Mounties received a report of an abandoned vehicle about 1.5 kilometres west of Glenwood, Alta.
The girl's body was found inside.
An autopsy is pending.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cardston RCMP Detachment at 403-653-4931 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
Glenwood is about 210 kilometres south of Calgary.

2 dead in Lacombe County collision
An investigation is underway into a Saturday morning crash in Lacombe County that left two people dead and two others injured. At 9:55 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to reports of a serious crash at the intersection of Highway 766 and Highway 12. Officers discovered the two occupants of a GMC Sierra, a 75-year-old and a 72-year-old man from Lacombe, were dead. The two occupants of a Dodge truck, a 23-year-old and a 19-year-old man from Red Deer, were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The scene has now been cleared by RCMP and normal traffic flow has resumed.

Hamilton police investigating 2 shootings that left victims with ‘serious injures'

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Nick Iwanyshyn Hamilton police are investigating two separate shootings over this weekend that they say left two people with 'serious injuries.' Investigators say the first shooting occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday near Barton Street East and Harmony Avenue. It's alleged that two suspects opened fire on a westbound vehicle. The driver fled to a nearby mall to call police, and one victim was later taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police also say they believe this incident may have been 'targeted.' 'Residents and businesses in the area of Barton Street East, Frederick Avenue, Tragina Avenue North, Britannia Avenue, and Harmony Avenue are asked to check surveillance or dash camera footage for two suspects who may have been seen on foot,' police wrote in a news release. The second shooting happened just hours later, at around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, at a party at a short-term rental property on Highway 6 near Concession Road 6 West in Flamborough. Police say one person was seriously injured and transported to hospital. However, no suspect or vehicle description was provided. Anyone with information is asked to check security or dash camera footage and contact investigators at 905-546-4883.

Convicted Quebec killer on the loose after prison break
Police are looking for Lori Bill Germa, who escaped from a Quebec federal prison Saturday. (Source: Correctional Service Canada) Quebec provincial police (SQ) have issued an arrest warrant for Lori Bill Germa, who escaped from a minimum security unit of the Archambault Institution in the Laurentians on Saturday night. He is serving an indefinite sentence for first-degree murder. According to Correctional Services Canada, staff at the multi-level security federal prison in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Que., noticed he was missing during the 10 p.m. headcount. Germa, 69, is about 5′10″, 166 pounds, with pale skin, brown eyes and a bald head. He has several tattoos on his right arm, including a sword with the name Carol, two seahorses and two dragons. He has a scar on his left leg. Police are asking anyone with information to call 911 or contact their local station. Correctional Services Canada say they will investigate the circumstances around the escape and are working with police to locate the inmate as quickly as possible.
