Teen girl found dead in abandoned vehicle last seen alive at Chinook Centre

(Supplied) RCMP investigating the suspicious death of a 16-year-old girl have released a photo of the vehicle where her body was found. Officers discovered Jordyn 'Rylie' Dines lifeless inside a 2009 Toyota Camry on Friday, July 4. The vehicle had been abandoned approximately 1.5 kilometres west of Glenwood, a village about 30 kilometres northwest of Cardston., Alta. The Alberta RCMP major crimes unit says Dines was last seen alive at Chinook Centre in Calgary at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 3. (Supplied) RCMP say the vehicle where she was found had not been reported stolen, but the registered owner said it had been missing since Friday morning. On Thursday, RCMP released a photo of the Camry, which is teal with black steel rims. CALGARY — Mounties in Alberta are looking for help from the public after the body of a teen girl was found in an abandoned car close to the U.S. border. Police say Jordyn (Rylie) Dines was found in the abandoned Toyota Camry on July 4 near Glenwood, 50 kilometres from the border. The 16-year-old was last seen the day before at the Chinook Centre shopping mall in Calgary. Police say Dines died under suspicious circumstances, but didn't elaborate. They say the Toyota Camry had not been reported stolen, but the car's registered owner indicated that it had been missing on the day it was found abandoned. ‘We want answers': Alberta mom remembers 16-year-old daughter found dead in abandoned vehicle

(Supplied) Jody Graves is remembering her 16-year-old daughter Jordyn Dines as a loving, kind, smart and funny kid. On Saturday, Dines was found dead in a vehicle about one-and-a-half kilometres west of the southern Alberta village of Glenwood. 'Jordyn was loved by everyone who knew her, but no one loved her more than her family,' her mom said in a statement to CTV News. 'She almost always had a smile and a joke to tell.' According to RCMP, Dines had been missing since July 2, and was considered an extremely at-risk youth. 'She wasn't without her struggles like most teenagers, but she never let that stop her from reaching for the stars,' said Graves. 'She wanted to go to school to work with at-risk youth and kids who struggled like her.' 'We are devastated, and we want answers. She deserves so much more than this.' Body of teen found in abandoned vehicle in southern Alberta

On Friday, Mounties received a report of an abandoned vehicle about 1.5 kilometres west of Glenwood, Alta. The girl's body was found inside. An autopsy is pending. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cardston RCMP Detachment at 403-653-4931 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous. Glenwood is about 210 kilometres south of Calgary.

2 motorcyclists killed in Glenwood crash, state police say
Two motorcyclists are dead after a crash Friday night in south suburban Glenwood. The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on northbound Illinois 394, just north of Dyer Road. Illinois State Police said both motorcyclists were heading north on IL 394 when one bike rear-ended the other, causing both motorcycles to crash. One of the riders, identified by medical examiners as Sarah Gudeman, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second was taken to Franciscan Health Munster Emergency Room and later died. The Lake County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Justin Fasnacht, 22, of Crown Point, Indiana. The roadway was closed during the investigation and reopened around 3 a.m. Saturday. The investigation remains ongoing. No further information was available.
