Suriya was last seen in Retro. The film didn't turn out to be a massive blockbuster but it managed to impress fans.
During the promotions of Dabba Cartel, Suriya's wife Jyotika revealed how it feels like sharing a roof with another superstar in an interview with Screen.
Taking a cue from the title of her Netflix venture, Jyotika was asked if she and her husband leave together for shooting with their dabbas.
Jyotika, with a tinge of humour, said, "I guess we leave the superstardom outside the door when we enter home. There, we are just parents of our kids. And yeah, the dabbas... definitely the prominence is given to our children. It's more about what's going in their school dabbas in the morning."
Coming back to Suriya 46, the film's shooting is scheduled to begin on May 30.

Why Director Jeethu Joseph Suggested A Delay In Ajay Devgn's Drishyam?
Drishyam narrates the story of Georgekutty (Mohanlal) and his family, who are suspected after the Inspector General of Police's son is killed Drishyam 3, the third instalment of the hit mystery thriller franchise, has been generating buzz among the fans ever since its official announcement. The shooting for both versions, Malayalam featuring Mohanlal and Hindi starring Ajay Devgn, will be held simultaneously, starting from October 2025. As the project steadily moves towards the production stage, director Jeetu Joseph recently admitted that he prevented the Hindi version from being made ahead of the Malayalam film. During a conversation with Mathrubhumi, Jeethu shared that there had been conversations about starting both versions at the same time. However, the makers of the Hindi rendition were instructed to keep off. 'There were requests to make the Malayalam and Hindi versions together, but we have not made any final judgements on those topics. There were early plans to begin with the Hindi version, but when it was suggested that this could be dealt with legally, they backed off," he explained. Furthermore, Jeethu, who is directing Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal, said that the Malayalam script is still being finalised. The film is likely to begin production around October this year. Recently, during an appearance at a college, Jeethu gave a big update on Drishyam 3 saying, 'I finished writing the climax of Drishyam 3 last night. I've been under immense pressure for a long time." Talking about the film, Drishyam narrates the story of Georgekutty (Mohanlal) and his family, who are suspected after the Inspector General of Police's son is killed. The first film was released in 2013, and the second in 2021. The success of Drishyam prompted remakes in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film's captivating narrative, moral complexity and powerful performances captivated viewers, driving it to success and serving as a pattern for remakes in different Indian languages. The Hindi version features Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran in the leads. The first instalment was helmed by Nishikant Kamat, while director-producer Abhishek Pathak came on board for the second instalment after Kamat's demise in 2020. Pathak will also be helming Driysham 3 (Hindi) with Ajay. Coming back to Jeethu, he also has projects like Mirage, Valathu Vashathe Kallan and Ram: Part 1 in his kitty. Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par adds Rs 2.5 crore over the weekend despite ‘Saiyaara' wave
Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par demonstrates remarkable staying power at the box office, grossing Rs 165.5 crore after 31 days, even amidst the release of Saiyaara. Despite a moderate opening, strong word-of-mouth and a loyal family audience propelled the film's success. Its emotional narrative continues to resonate, proving the appeal of meaningful cinema alongside youth-focused romances. Aamir Khan 's Sitaare Zameen Par has proved its staying power at the box office, holding strong even as Mohit Suri 's much-talked-about romantic drama Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda , stormed into cinemas with record-breaking collections. After completing 30 days in theatres with a robust Rs 164.15 crore across all languages, Sitaare Zameen Par witnessed a notable resurgence over its fifth weekend, despite stiff competition. On Day 31 (5th Sunday), the film added Rs 1.35 crore (Rs 1.33 crore in Hindi and Rs 1 lakh each in Tamil and Telugu), bringing its total collection to a commendable Rs 165.5 crore. The fact that it managed to post such a number on its fifth Sunday — while Saiyaara raked in Rs 37 crore on its opening Sunday — highlights the strong word-of-mouth and loyal family audience base Sitaare Zameen Par has cultivated. The film, directed by RS Prasanna , explores learning disabilities in children through a fresh lens and marks Aamir Khan's return to emotional, socially-driven storytelling. While the opening was moderate at Rs 10.7 crore, the film quickly gained momentum, thanks to excellent weekend jumps — Rs 20.2 crore on Day 2 and Rs 27.25 crore on Day 3. What's particularly remarkable is how the film sustained its momentum week after week. After closing its first week at Rs 88.9 crore, it collected Rs 46.5 crore in Week 2, Rs 18.95 crore in Week 3, and Rs 8.65 crore in Week 4. In most cases, Week 5 would mark a significant dip, especially with a high-profile release like Saiyaara entering the fray. But Sitaare Zameen Par defied the odds. On Day 30 (5th Saturday), the film had already shown signs of life with a Rs 80 lakh collection, a major jump of 128 % from Friday's collection of Rs 35 lakh. The Sunday surge further confirms that the emotional core of the film continues to resonate, especially with families and older audiences. While Saiyaara has dominated youth attention with its fresh faces and romantic music-driven narrative, Sitaare Zameen Par remains a preferred pick for viewers looking for meaningful, feel-good cinema. In fact, the simultaneous success of both films showcases the diversity of content drawing crowds in 2025 — one led by a superstar addressing educational challenges, the other a musical romance by newcomers.
