BRS to fight for the rights of employees
A strategy meeting, held at the residence of former minister T Harish Rao and led by BRS working president K T Rama Rao, brought together former leaders of employees' associations, retired officials, and representatives of various teachers' and employees' unions.
During the meeting, Rama Rao and Harish Rao held discussions with former union leaders and ministers, including MLCs Srinivas Goud, Swamy Goud, Deviprasad, and others. The agenda focused on key issues such as pending Dearness Allowances (DAs), implementation of Pay Revision Commission (PRC) recommendations, release of retirement benefits, and other employee concerns.
Expressing deep concern over the state government's inaction, Rama Rao and Harish Rao stated, 'It is our duty as the principal opposition to stand by government employees. We will not remain silent while lakhs of employees suffer due to a negligent government.'
The BRS leadership emphasised the need to formulate a clear action plan in the coming days. The party also extended its support to active employees' union leaders and encouraged former union heads — particularly those who played a significant role in the Telangana statehood movement — to participate in this renewed effort.
'BRS has always upheld the rights and aspirations of government employees. We are committed to working alongside them and applying pressure on the government to ensure justice,' the leaders affirmed.
The party is expected to unveil a detailed action strategy soon and rally support from employees' associations across the state.

Rahul parroting Pakistan line, wish he was more mature, match PM Modi: Kiren Rijiju
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of "parroting" Pakistan's narrative on Operation Sindoor and wished he was "more mature" and "more intellectual" to at least "match our leader" while raising issues in Parliament. Ahead of the Monsoon session beginning Monday, Rijiju told PTI that the government was ready for debate on any issue in accordance with rules of procedure and slammed the opposition for trying to "hijack Parliament" by insisting to "occupy all the space". "If our leader of opposition is providing fuel to our enemy country, thereby causing harm to our national interest, how do we take it? Internally, we may have all kinds of disagreement, because that is the nature of democracy ... but outside you are broadcasting the narrative of the other country. This is something that is unacceptable to us," he said. Live Events The minister said Gandhi could argue that as the leader of the opposition, his job is to criticise the government, but he was "parroting" the line taken by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. Rijiju said initially, Gandhi was egging the government to take action against Pakistan, then started calling for de-escalation and later wanted to know the number of aircraft India lost during the conflict. "That is why I have made a very categorical difference between which is internal and which is external. He is parroting the lines taken by Pakistan during the Operation Sindoor," the minister said. He said a group of opposition parties tried to damage India's image but the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured that the entire country was united during the conflict. "I wish our Leader of Opposition is more mature, more understanding, more intellectual, because we need a leader of opposition at least to match our leader. Our prime minister, all the senior ministers, are very serious about parliamentary business," Rijiju said. He said the government was open to debate and discussion but the opposition only wanted to stall parliamentary proceedings, which was not a healthy sign in a democracy. "Parliament constitutes all the MPs. We are in the government. We have more members of Parliament. But, some of the opposition MPs say that only they should speak. They want to hijack Parliament. That will not happen," Rijiju said. "What is a democracy? Democracy is giving space to everybody. In Parliament, it is very proportionate. Every MP represents certain areas, some states and some constituencies. So, if they think that the opposition should occupy all the space, that will not happen," he said. Rijiju said Indian democracy is very vibrant and was in favour of the same spirit reflected in Parliament. "Many people may say that the Indian Parliament is very noisy, very messy, but I welcome it. Being a very vibrant democracy, there should be some fireworks, there should be some, you know, heated debates and discussions. It's okay," the minister said.

PM Modi launches ‘naya Bihar' slogan, accuses RJD of betraying poor
Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the RJD of seizing land from the poor on the false promise of jobs, in an apparent reference to the land-for-jobs scam and asserted that a 'viksit' (developed) Bihar is key to development of eastern India. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now While addressing a public rally at Motihari in East Champaran, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, he also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 7,200 crore. Introducing a new campaign slogan, "Banayenge naya Bihar, phir ek baar NDA sarkar" (We will build a new Bihar, once again an NDA govt), Modi emphasised that state's development is crucial for eastern India's progress. The Prime Minister highlighted the stark contrast in central support between previous and current administrations. "During the 10 years of the previous govts when they (Congress) were in power at the Centre, Bihar received only around Rs 2 lakh crore," he said, suggesting this was political retaliation against Nitish Kumar's govt. Modi emphasised that since 2014, his govt has allocated nearly Rs 9 lakh crore for Bihar's development, quadrupling the previous allocation. Taking aim at the RJD, Modi said, "The RJD can't think of providing employment to youths and they (RJD functionaries) seized land from the poor on the false promise of jobs," referring to the land-for-jobs scam. He urged citizens to remember the contrast between the "era of lanterns" and today's Bihar, which is illuminated by new hopes. Emphasising the NDA's vision, Modi said, "Bihar's progress is essential for India's progress," and promised that the Centre would invest Rs 1 lakh crore in providing jobs and employment opportunities nationwide. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now He commended Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's govt for transparent recruitment of youth in govt positions and assured continued central support for Bihar's employment initiatives. The Prime Minister highlighted significant progress in combating Maoists, noting that districts like Champaran, Aurangabad, Gaya and Jamui are now witnessing reduced extremist activity. "This is a new India—that spares no effort in punishing the enemies, mobilising forces from both land and sky," he said, referring to Operation Sindoor's success. Addressing agricultural development, Modi threw light on various initiatives benefiting farmers, including the establishment of a Makhana Board and efforts to increase market access for local products like banana, litchi, Mircha rice, Katarni rice, Zardalu mango and Maghai paan. He said that under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, approximately Rs 3.5 lakh crore has been distributed to farmers nationwide, with Motihari alone seeing over 5 lakh farmers receiving more than Rs 1,500 crore. Modi emphasised that Bihar possesses both capability and resources, which are now being effectively utilised for progress. He highlighted the success of integrating makhana farmers with larger markets, resulting in improved prices and economic benefits. The event was attended by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, CM Nitish Kumar, and Union ministers Jitan Ram Manji, Giriraj Singh, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Chirag Paswan, Ramnath Thakur, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey and Dr Raj Bhushan Choudhary. PM's visit and announcements come at a crucial time as Bihar prepares for assembly elections, with the NDA seeking to strengthen its position in the state. Modi's emphasis on development, employment, and agricultural growth reflects the coalition's campaign focus on economic progress and social welfare.
