Hyderabad startup test fires India's first hydrogen-oxygen propulsion engine
Hyderabad: Spacetech startup Stardour, a stealth-mode startup based out of Hyderabad, announced on Monday that it successfully test fired India's first hydrogen and oxygen propulsion engine, which it developed in-house. The sustainable engine, tested at the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru, will power Stardour's flagship next-generation orbital transfer vehicle (OTV) called Lucas. The startup, established in 2020 and led by former ISRO scientist Rama Rao, expects the maiden launch of Lucas in the third quarter of 2027. Lucas is designed to carry out scientific and commercial expeditions across low Earth orbit (LEO), geostationary orbit (GEO), as well as the Moon and Mars, among others. It can also perform other tasks like orbit changes, orbital refuelling, spacecraft repair, life extension services, and debris removal. 'This successful test fire is not just a technical milestone, it's a signal to the world that India is ready to lead in the new era of sustainable and autonomous in-space logistics,' said Stardour director Rama Rao. According to IISc professor Pratikash Panda, the successful test-firing of Stardour's hydrogen-oxygen engine is a testament to the Indian startup's commitment to green propulsion technology and innovation in reusable spacecraft. The bootstrapped startup, founded by Sankarsh Chanda, is working on green propulsion, orbital mobility, and deep-space exploration.

Congress may have done something to KLIS to win elections: BRS leader KT Rama Rao
BHUPALPALLY: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday expressed doubts that the 'luccha Congress vallu' (the wicked Congress leaders) might have done something to the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, to tarnish the good name of the BRS and to win the Assembly elections. Addressing party workers here, Rama Rao alleged that the Congress leaders, who thought that the people would not support them in the Assembly elections, might have started blaming the Kaleshwaram project. Rama Rao recalled that Telangana earned a good reputation due to the construction of Kaleshwaram and became number one in paddy production in the country, surpassing Punjab. 'That's why the Congress leaders tried to win the elections by doing something or the other,' he alleged. The BRS leader said that he had expressed these doubts earlier as well. 'Kaleshwaram is a gigantic project, which consists of three barrages, 15 reservoirs and 21 pump houses, hundreds of kilometres of tunnels and thousands of kilometres of gravity canals. All the canals, pump houses, reservoirs and two barrages are good and intact. But two piers of one barrage, having a total of 85 piers, sank,' he said. 'The two piers did not collapse but just sank,' the BRS leader added. Rama Rao recalled that when the total cost of the Kaleshwaram project was Rs 80,000 crore, the Congress leaders alleged Rs 1 lakh crore corruption in the execution of the project. 'Even Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's father-in-law found fault with this claim,' he added.

KTR pins hooliganism tag on Cong; says industries fleeing
Hyderabad: The BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday alleged that the Congress leaders were threatening the Kitex company which has come forward to set up Textile Park in Warangal to provide 25,000 jobs and expressed concerns that there was a danger of industries fleeing due to hooliganism by the Congress leaders. The BRS leader made these comments while participating in the distribution of sewing machines and KCR kits to women in Parakala constituency as part of the Gift A Smile program on Sunday. Rama Rao alleged that Congress leaders were threatening Kitex, which has announced that it will provide 25,000 jobs in the country's largest Kakatiya Textile Park. 'The Congress' hooliganism to provide jobs to only those they recommend has led to a situation where industries are fleeing,' said Rama Rao, criticising that while BRS wanted to bring industries to the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and provide jobs to the youth of Telangana, Congress leaders were conspiring to loot it vertically. The BRS leader further said that the estimates of Rs 137 crore prepared in January for the construction of a canal in the Kakatiya Textile Park have increased to Rs 297 crore due to the greed of Congress ministers and MLAs. The Congress leaders of Warangal district wanted to loot Rs 167 crore in the name of canal construction. He said that the looting being done by Congress leaders will not stop if they are not questioned and said that they will protest against these irregularities in the upcoming assembly sessions. KTR further said that KCR has done justice to BCs in the past, and he was the only one who would give due priority to the common people tomorrow too. He said that Congress MLAs and ministers would fall in line only if BRS candidates win with impressive majorities in the local body elections. KTR said that the state government owes Rs 50,000 to every girl child in Telangana. The Revanth government, which should have given Rs 3,000 crore to self-help groups was celebrating by giving only Rs 300 crore. He said that the Congress government gave Rythu Bandhu during Lok Sabha elections and now as there are Panchayat elections.

KTR, Harish tell BRS students wing to educate people on injustice to TG on river waters issue
Senior leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have asked the student wing leaders of the party (BRS Vidyarthi) to educate the youth and people on how Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party and Telugu Desam Party have been lying about the Polavaram-Banakacherla Link Project (PBLP) being taken up by Andhra Pradesh at the cost of Telangana's rights. Giving a PowerPoint presentation to the members of BRSV on Kaleshwaram and PBLP at the meeting here on Saturday, working president K.T. Rama Rao and senior leader T. Harish Rao said the responsibility of educating people, particularly the student community and the youth is on BRSV., and reminded them how students and youth had played a key role in the statehood movement. They explained to the BRSV members how party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao had encouraged youth in politics and how he, as the Chief Minister, had achieved 95% quota to Telangana youth in jobs by getting the Presidential Order amended. Stating that the commitment of Mr. Revanth Reddy to Telangana was exposed in his refusal even to utter 'Jai Telangana' slogan, they alleged that the Chief Minister is trying to erase the memories of Statehood movement. With the help of the PowerPoint presentation, Mr. Harish Rao explained to them how the Pothireddypadu Head Regulator and Banakacherla Cross Regulator are proving to be a death knell to the river water interests of Telangana. He sought to know when there was no clarity on the assured water in Godavari Basin, how can A.P. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu say that they would only utilise floodwater. Mr. Rama Rao said despite getting 18 clearances and permissions to utilise 240 tmc ft with Kaleshwaram project, the Naidu government had opposed it along with other projects by writing several letters to the Centre and other agencies. He had also opposed 967 tmc ft assured water of Godavari to Telangana, Mr. Rama Rao said, and added that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao had written to the Centre in 2020 itself seeking 1950 tmc ft water out of an average 3,000 tmc ft Godavari water flowing into sea. Party leaders G. Jagadish Reddy, Deshapathi Srinivas, Gellu Srinivas Yadav and others spoke.
