Wydad exit club World Cup with 4-1 loss to Juventus
The Turkish international forward was unlucky not to be credited with Juve's early opener which went down as an own goal by Abdelmounaim Boutouil.
However, there was no doubt that Yildiz was the scorer of the second with a tremendous strike from outside the box.
Thembinkosi Lorch pulled one back for Wydad before the break, but Yildiz got his second of the afternoon on 69 minutes before a late Dusan Vlahovic penalty sealed the victory for the Italian side.
Having already defeated Emirati side Al Ain 5-0 in their opening match, Juve have scored nine goals and have the maximum six points after two outings in Group G.
Their qualification for the knockout phase will be assured if group rivals Manchester City avoid defeat against Al Ain later.
That puts Igor Tudor's Juve in an excellent position with a final group game to come on Thursday against City in Orlando.
Moroccan giants Wydad, meanwhile, are eliminated with this defeat following a 2-0 loss at the hands of City in their first outing.
Yildiz, the 20-year-old German-born winger, was among the scorers against Al Ain and he was the star of the show here in front of 31,975 fans at Lincoln Financial Field.
Juve unchanged at kick-off
Juve, who finished fourth in Serie A in the campaign just finished, went with an unchanged starting line-up meaning the likes of Vlahovic and Manuel Locatelli began the game on the bench.
Prolific against Al Ain, they wasted no time in putting the team that finished third in the Moroccan league to the sword.
The opening goal came on six minutes as Khephren Thuram teed up Yildiz and his shot beat goalkeeper El Mehdi Benabid with the aid of a slight deflection off Boutouil.
It was 2-0 on 16 minutes via a superb effort, as Andrea Cambiaso went on a piercing run in from the left before laying the ball off for Yildiz to smash in a shot on the half-volley into the top corner.
Wydad quickly pulled one back as veteran Nordin Amrabat's fine pass in behind the defence released South African winger Lorch to control and clip a shot past the goalkeeper.
Yet Juventus were well on top and Cambiaso hit the post just prior to the hour mark before Randal Kolo Muani somehow failed to turn in Lloyd Kelly's ball across the face of goal.
Their third goal did arrive just after the midway point in the second half when France forward Kolo Muani collected possession on the left and then slipped in Yildiz who finished into the corner.
It was his third goal at the tournament so far, and his 12th in all competitions since the season began.
Yildiz had been withdrawn before the fourth goal arrived in stoppage time, substitute Vlahovic stroking in a spot-kick awarded after he had been hauled down by Guilherme Ferreira.

They should have scored more goals before half-time, with Bellingham -- deprived of the chance to face his brother Jobe who was suspended -- firing just wide after a nice dummy by Vinicius Junior. Chebbak rescues Morocco as TotalEnergies WAFCON opener ends in draw
Published: Saturday, 05 July 2025 Hosts Morocco were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Zambia in an entertaining start to the 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) at the Stade Olympique in Rabat on Saturday night. It was Zambia who struck first, stunning the home crowd with a goal inside the opening minute. Barbra Banda capitalised on space just outside the box, unleashing a powerful low shot into the bottom left corner following a rapid counter-attack initiated by Margaret Belemu. It was a dream start for the Zambians, who looked sharp and aggressive from the outset. Morocco regrouped quickly and began to push forward. Their pressure was rewarded in the 12th minute after Najat Badri was brought down by Grace Chanda in the penalty area. Following a brief VAR review, the referee pointed to the spot, and Ibtissam Jraïdi stepped up to level the scores with a composed strike into the top left corner. Tennis: Sinner demolishes Martinez to reach Wimbledon last-16 - Omni sports
Imperious Wimbledon top seed Jannik Sinner made short work of Spain's Pedro Martinez on Saturday to reach the last 16 without dropping a set. The Italian three-time Grand Slam champion eased past his 52nd-ranked opponent, who was struggling with a shoulder problem, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1 in less than two hours. "Obviously very happy but I think we all saw that he was struggling with his shoulder," said Sinner. "He couldn't serve very well. Especially on this surface when you don't serve well, then it's not easy to play." The Italian said his first week at Wimbledon "couldn't have gone better". "Every time when you reach the second week of a Grand Slam it's a very special occasion," he said. "Even more special here in Wimbledon, so I'm very happy to be in the second week." Sinner, a Formula One fan, said he would organise his practice schedule around the British Grand Prix, which takes place at Silverstone on Sunday. He will face either 19th seed Grigor Dimitrov or Sebastian Ofner in the fourth round at the All England Club. The 23-year-old took a vice-like grip on the Centre Court match from the start, racing into a 5-0 lead. Martinez was given a time-out at that point and received treatment on his right shoulder before winning the next game to love on his own serve but Sinner wrapped up the set in the following game. The second set was tighter until Sinner broke in the fifth game, repeating the feat to take the set. Martinez required further treatment before the third set but it had little impact as Sinner raced into a 5-0 lead. The Spaniard, 28, held up a finger to the crowd after clawing a game back but that only delayed the inevitable. Sinner has lost just 17 games in total across his three matches in the first week of Wimbledon, in contrast to defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who has shown patchy form. The Italian returned from a doping ban in May, losing the Italian Open final to Alcaraz and squandering three championship points against the same opponent in the French Open final. His best performance at Wimbledon was a run to the semi-finals in 2023 and he reached the quarters last year.
