Directed by Vijay Ganesh and produced by Dr Sai Suthan Krishnan under Fivestar AV, the film follows a family entangled in a web of paranormal mysteries. Seeking answers, they turn to a spiritual guru, portrayed by Vijay himself. "'Mirugasirisham' represents our commitment to elevating local storytelling through technological innovation and heartfelt performances,' Vijay told Bernama after attending a pre-recording session of Bernama Tamil News talk show 'Paarvai' at Wisma Bernama here, recently. The movie cast includes Joshua Shashi Kumar, Jegan Shanmugam, Nirmala Tharmarajan, Kumari and Komalaa Naaidu, with music composed by Shane Xtreme. Subtitled in Malay and English to broaden its reach, 'Mirugasirisham' has generated positive buzz across social media, reflecting growing interest in Malaysian Tamil cinema. Despite the momentum, Vijay admitted that local films still face challenges in cinema attendance, partly due to the average ticket price of RM20. "Cinema outings can be expensive for many families, especially those from the B40 community. We believe lowering ticket prices could help attract more viewers to support homegrown films,' he said. Vijay also urged the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) and relevant government bodies to extend greater support, including funding and production collaboration, to help filmmakers focus on creativity and quality. KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) -- The National Unity Ministry, through the Department of Museums Malaysia, is currently organising the Chinese Opera Exhibition: An Introduction & A Remembrance, offering the public an insight into the beauty and uniqueness of this traditional performing art. Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the exhibition, taking place at Gallery 1 of the Department of Museums Malaysia here until Sept 8, showcases a classical art form rich in aesthetic values, historical depth, symbolism and the cultural heritage of the Chinese community. He said the exhibition serves as a platform to introduce the public to the detailed aspects of Chinese Opera - from elaborate costumes, music and makeup to scripts and character portrayals, which often centre around themes of morality, love, struggle and history.

National Month And Fly The Jalur Gemilang Launch Ceremony Preparations 90 Pct Complete
MUAR, July 24 (Bernama) -- The preparations for the launching of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Ceremony 2025 and other sideline programmes in conjunction with the ceremony, beginning tomorrow at the Dataran Tanjung Emas here, are almost 90 per cent complete. Information Department (JaPen) senior director (Management) Naim Fahmi Ahmad Tajuddin said today's preparations focused on the main event locations, such as the main tent and the exhibition booths of ministries and government agencies through the Kita MADANI Carnival. We are also ensuring that the MADANI Community exhibition stalls are ready to be installed today, with 16 spaces for each state, showcasing products from their respective states such as traditional food and clothing. "Preparations on the main stage, including LED and audio systems, are all being ensured to be in good condition during the event," he told Bernama while inspecting the event site today. A Bernama survey found logistics personnel busily preparing goods and equipment in the main tent area for the opening ceremony, exhibition booths, and the Rahmah MADANI Sales, Agro MADANI Sales, and Jualan Kasih Johor programme sections. Naim Fahmi said that the public can attend the event from tomorrow to enjoy various Johor cuisine as well as food that has gone viral, brought in by approximately 15 vendors from the Food Truck Selera MADANI. "For Friday (tomorrow night), the action film 'Sheriff: Narko Integriti' will be screened at the main stage, while on Saturday (night), the MADANI Art Fiesta will be held, featuring celebrities AC Mizal, Ayai Ilusi and Asmidar," he said. The National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 launch ceremony is expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on July 27 at 10 am. Various other sideline programmes will also be held, namely the Bakti Komuniti MADANI at Taman Tun Sulaiman Ninam Shah on July 26, while the Merdeka 6.8KM Fun Run & Walk and launch of the 2025 Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang will be held on July 27 at Dataran Tanjung Emas,
