'The posts glorified caste and incited casteist sentiments and create misunderstanding and confusion in society. Personnel from the social media wing are identifying such content, including videos and photographs displaying arms and arresting those posting them. Their social media accounts and WhatsApp groups are also being examined and monitored,' Superintendent of Police N Silambarasan said in a press statement.
Further, city police warned people against spreading misinformation and rumours regarding the death of IT employee Kavin Selvaganesh, which is suspected to be a case of honour killing.
In a statement, the police said some social media users are circulating a murder video claiming it to be of Kavin's. 'The incident took place in Andhra Pradesh. There is no connection between that and Kavin's murder. We will take stringent action against those creating law and order issues by spreading such misleading videos,' police said. Kavin was murdered allegedly by S Surjith, whose parents are both sub inspectors of police, on July 27. Surjith and his father Saravanan have been arrested. CB-CID is investigating the case.

'This is not going to work, we need to plan something else, I will address the complete team on Monday, either we have to report to office on Saturday and Sundays for complete 8 hours or need to extend the shift on a daily basis for 2 hours for next three kindly prepare your mindset and come to work on Monday,' the message read. The post triggered outrage online, with many criticising the manager's behaviour. 'They are literally stealing his labour. Refuse tactfully. If that doesn't work, refuse directly. Of course, he needs a new job soon,' wrote one user. Another said, 'They do it to reach you outside of work timings – they have no shame about it. Unless it's a genuine emergency, I simply ignore their calls/messages. I even had to block a colleague.' A third user noted the importance of documentation: 'Teams is documented. When they make requests like this, they don't want evidence. If someone goes to court, they can say it was a rogue manager. But on Teams, every message is logged; they can't do that.' Another person advised, 'Absolutely do not work a second on the weekend unless it's your own fault for not being able to in the week. Very slippery slope. Pretty sure none of us gets paid overtime for that.' In a separate incident also shared on Reddit, a software developer claimed they were being pressured into working 20 extra hours per week, without any pay. 'That's 3 hours every weekday after work and my weekends completely gone,' the employee said, adding, 'It's unpaid, non-negotiable, and they've made it clear that if I want to grow here, I have to do this.'

5 illegal Bangladeshis arrested for forcibly trying to enter Red Fort: Cops
Delhi Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested five Bangladeshi "illegal immigrants" for allegedly attempting to forcibly enter the Red Fort premises amid the heightened security drills in view of the upcoming Independence Day to officials, the arrests were made near the Red Fort's access control point by a police team deployed in the area. The men, aged between 20 and 25, failed to produce valid entry passes during routine checks and were found to be residing in the country of them are illegal immigrants. They tried to forcibly enter the Red Fort premises," the police said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North District), Raja Banthiya, said the five were intercepted by police personnel on August 4. During questioning, it emerged that they had entered India illegally about three to four months ago and were working as labourers in Delhi."They claimed they were unaware that the Red Fort has been closed for the public since July 15. Bangladeshi documents were recovered from them, but no suspicious material or activity came to light during their interrogation," Banthiya incident came amid a security clampdown across the capital ahead of the August 15 celebrations. Delhi Police has launched a special drive to identify and deport illegal immigrants, particularly those living near sensitive confirmed that central agencies have also questioned the five men. UP ATS arrests homoeopath from Badlapur for anti-national activities
MUMBAI: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested two individuals in connection with an alleged anti-national conspiracy aimed at disturbing communal harmony and establishing Sharia law in India. Among those arrested is a homoeopathy doctor, who was picked up on Sunday from his workplace in Badlapur, Thane district. (Shutterstock) The Badlapur East police confirmed that Dr Usama Maj Sheikh, who works at a private hospital, was arrested on Sunday night while on duty. 'The arrest was carried out entirely by the UP ATS based on their investigation. Our involvement was limited to providing logistical support,' said a senior Thane police officer. 'We ensured due process was followed during the arrest and court procedures.' Dr Sheikh was produced before the Ulhasnagar magistrate court, which granted a transit remand until August 8. We informed his family members about his arrest before he was taken to UP, said a police officer. The doctor's arrest comes after the UP ATS recently arrested Ajmal Ali, a resident of UP. Ali was one of the 400 members, many of them allegedly Pakistani nationals, in a WhatsApp group named 'Reviving Islam'. According to the ATS officials, Ali was allegedly promoting extremist ideology to incite hatred against non-Muslims on various social media platforms. When Ali was called for questioning at the ATS headquarters, he confessed to being in touch with several Pakistani nationals via social media. Officials said he also revealed he considered Dr Sheikh in Thane to be his mentor and that they communicated frequently via Instagram and Signal. They added that the two allegedly had 'extremist discussions about toppling India's elected government and replacing it with a Sharia-based system.' Following this, Lucknow's ATS police station registered a case on August 1 under Sections 148 (conspiracy to commit offences) and 152 (acts endangering the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Ajmal was taken into custody and sent to judicial remand. An ATS officer said, 'Both of them reportedly promoted violent jihad, with the ultimate aim of carrying out Ghazwa-e-Hind and enforcing Sharia law in the country.' The ATS, in a statement, stated that the duo were also attempting to radicalise Muslim youth by inciting anger and allegedly encouraging them to engage in anti-national activities.
