Union Minister Gadkari says World War could ‘break out anytime', flays superpowers' authoritarianism
Coordination, harmony and love are vanishing due to the authoritarianism and dictatorship of superpowers and there is an atmosphere of conflict across the world, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Sunday (July 6, 2025) while citing the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Iran wars. Hailing India as the land of the Buddha giving the message of truth, non-violence and peace to the world, Mr. Gadkari emphasised the need to ascertain future policy after reviewing and deliberating on international happenings underway. Speaking at the launch of the book Beyond Borders in Nagpur, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways said these conflicts are creating a situation where World War could break out "anytime". The technological advancements pertaining to war were also making it tougher to protect humanity, he asserted. "There is an atmosphere of conflict going on across the world amid the war between Israel and Iran as well as Russia and Ukraine. The situation is such that there is possibility of a World War taking place anytime in the backdrop of these two ongoing wars," Mr. Gadkari said. Mr. Gadkari said warfare dimensions have changed due to advanced technology, with increasing use of missiles and drones, which was reducing the relevance of tanks and other kind of aircraft. "Amid all this, it has become difficult to protect humanity. Often, missiles are fired on civilian settlements. This has created a serious pro`blem and there is need to discuss all these issues at a global level," the senior BJP leader said. "It won't be right to say so but (fact is) all this is slowly leading to destruction. Authoritarianism and dictatorship (adhikarwadi-hukumshahi) of the superpowers is making coordination, harmony and love vanish," he opined.

Bilawal Bhutto's offer to extradite Hafiz Saeed to India ignites internal conflict in Pakistan
Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed 's son, Talha Saeed , has strongly criticised former Pakistani foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto 's recent remarks about possible extradition of wanted terrorists to India . In a video statement released on Sunday, Talha described Bhutto's offer as 'irresponsible' and 'unacceptable,' saying it had brought shame to Pakistan internationally. Bhutto had made the comments during an interview with Al Jazeera on Friday. When asked about the possibility of handing over figures like Hafiz Saeed and Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar , Bhutto said, 'We have no objection to such steps as a confidence-building measure,' provided India cooperates. LeT-linked political groups reject Bhutto's position Responding to Bhutto's statement, Talha Saeed said, 'We and our community' would never accept the idea of handing over his father to India, calling India a hostile country. He also accused Bhutto of promoting narratives influenced by the West and India. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 착용했을 때, 더 뿌듯한 팔찌 유니세프 지금 기부하기 Undo The Pakistan Markazi Muslim League, associated with LeT and Jamaat-ud-Dawa, issued a statement rejecting Bhutto's views. It blamed India for spreading terrorism in Pakistan and neighbouring regions. No official backing for Bhutto's remarks Although Bhutto's remarks gained attention, they carry no official weight. He currently holds no position in Pakistan's government. Many observers see his statement as political messaging without real intent or authority. Live Events "Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has no locus standi. He is not in the cabinet, he is not part of the armed forces. Yes, his father is the president of Pakistan (Asif Ali Zardari), and that's about all," said Major Gaurav Arya (Retd) in an interview with TOI. Arya said that the Pakistani establishment often uses figures like Bhutto to send diplomatic signals without committing officially. "Because the Indus Waters Treaty has been held in abeyance by India, they want to give out an olive branch to India as a token of peace or a white flag. But tomorrow, if public backlash is a little too much... at that point in time, Pakistan can say Bilawal is not part of the government," he said. India unlikely to respond without institutional clarity Indian defence experts believe the offer lacks credibility. Without official support from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs or clear institutional steps, analysts see little reason for India to engage. Major Arya said that Bhutto's statement is likely a distraction. He added that Islamabad may be trying to manage its international image while domestic pressures continue to grow. 'The extradition offer lacks credibility because it came from someone without governing authority,' Arya said. Unless Pakistan backs such statements with policy action and transparency in dealing with terror groups, diplomatic engagement with India is expected to remain on hold.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut slams BJP Minister Ashish Shelar for comparing Hindi-Marathi row to Pahalgam attack
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 7 (ANI): Hitting at BJP Mumbai chief Ashish Shelar for comparing the violence in the Hindi-Marathi controversy to the Pahalgam terror attack, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Monday said that it is wrong and shows the BJP's mindset. Speaking to reporters, Sanjay Raut said, 'A few people refuse to accept the culture and the Marathi language. If not in Maharashtra, where would the Marathi language be - in Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Nepal? If people do a movement for any language, Ashish Shelar compares them to terrorists of Pahalgam. It's wrong, and it shows the BJP's mindset.' Earlier on Sunday, Maharashtra Minister Ashish Shelar compared the agony of the Pahalgam terror attack, where Hindus were killed in the name of religion, and those getting 'beaten up' in the name of language. He said that these incidents were distressing for him. 'All these incidents cause pain, suffering, and mental distress. In Pahalgam, they shot them after asking about their religion. And here, they beat up the innocent Hindus just because of the language they speak. Such cases create a disturbance,' Shelar said. His remarks come after incidents of violence and vandalism were reported in the state amid the ongoing Hindi-Marathi controversy. Five workers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) were arrested in connection with the vandalism at entrepreneur Sushil Kedia's office in Worli, police said on Saturday. A case has been registered against them under Sections 223, 189(2), 189(3), 190, 191(2), 191(3), and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. In another incident, as per a viral video, a group of men allegedly associated with a regional party beat up a shop owner for not speaking in Marathi. The incident occurred in the Mira-Bhayandar area near Mumbai. Meanwhile, on the July 5 'victory rally' by Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, Raut said, 'The grand victory rally is being talked about everywhere. Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray were clear in their stand, as expected by people.' Attacking BJP and Shiv Sena, he asked, 'Do you control Thackeray? Why won't you let Marathi people unite?' (ANI)
